I practice Rolfing® Structural Integration, craniosacral work, visceral work, and manual therapy for inflamed nerves. Over 20 years, I’ve helped clients with pain (low back, sciatica, neck and shoulder, TMJ, headaches, etc.) and posture, scoliosis, auto and work accidents, and athletic optimization. I have Basic and Advanced Certification as a Rolfer™ from the Rolf Institute® (the only school that trains and certifies Rolfers), and advanced training in the other modalities I practice.
The work I do is quite different from massage therapy, and you usually start to see and feel results from the first session. One session may give you enough improvement, or you may want or need more sessions. If you are after whole-body optimization, you may want go through the classic Ten-Session Rolfing Series.
I bill directly for PIP auto claims and L&I, and give receipts for other health insurance.
Feel free to call to discuss your situation and needs, or schedule a complimentary 30-minute consultation. I look forward to speaking with you and seeing if I can help you feel the best you can.
History
Established in 1995.
My interest in health began with studies of oriental medicine (acupuncture and shiatsu massage) in Japan and China in the early 1980s. I switched to western systems of hands-on bodywork — Rolfing® Structural Integration, craniosacral work, visceral work, and manual nerve therapy — starting in the early 1990s. I love the mind-body integration effects of this work, and its effectiveness in relieving pain and improving posture and well-being.
I opened my first full-time bodywork practice in 1995 in Maui, Hawaii, then relocated it to Seattle in 2005. I also see clients in Port Orchard, WA on Mondays.
Meet the Business Owner
Anne H.
Business Owner
I spent the first 18 years of my life in the Midwest, the next 15 in Japan, the next 10 in Hawaii, and have now been in Seattle over a decade. Each of these environments has informed how I think, how I live, and how I practice. My life practice is to find the balance of being and doing, and to grow through the mind-body-spirit constellation. A good metaphor for what got me into bodywork is those walls of clocks you see sometimes that show the time in different countries. Growing up, my mind and emotions ran ahead of my body. When I first received Rolfing® SI work, I felt like I landed in my body and it «synchronized» my physical-mental-emotional clocks. And it improved my posture and released tension. I was hooked and wanted to learn this transformative system to share it with others. Adding craniosacral and visceral work was more rocket fuel. I’m always studying to have more ways to help my clients and am excited to have work that I love where I can help others.
