A Sure Clean

I too have a Groupon and cannot use it because their voicemail box is full and they won’t respond on the online form. You need to be able to have a staff that can handle Groupons if you intend to offer them. I am very disappointed as I need my house cleaned and am looking for a regular cleaner who will likely not be A Sure Clean.

I want to commend Marie on her continued effort to go forward with her cleaning service. Richard and Kristen just left my house and it looks great. I have three dogs and three cats. They cleaned all the areas that I asked them to clean and with no complaints.
I have been in the housecleaning business before to make extra money and I am here to tell all of you that it is hard work.
In reading some of the reviews that are NEGATIVE I would venture to bet that they have never cleaned for anyone but themselves.
I would hire A Sure Clean again. The workers are very polite. If you ask them to clean areas and dust, vacuum, fix the pillow on the couch and make sure to clean under the bath tub and all the surrounding areas they will do just that.
I am very happy with Marie and her crew.

Promises Unfulfilled!
After weeks of no response to e-​mails and a filled voice mail box, I talked to someone last week and made an appointment for today. After an hour of NO SHOW & NO PHONE CALL I called A Sure Clean, left a voice message and sent an e-​mail — still without a response to either.
I cannot recommend them.

Total waste of time and money.
Worst cleaning service EVER.

I made an appointment for this morning. I have a party later today and needed a bit of help. Stayed home in the morning and waited. No phone call. I called and heard nothing. Finally 2 hours later – I needed to leave, so called Groupon to cancel. Groupon is amazing and helped. But now I have to scramble and find time to clean before guests arrive and work. I am really disappointed at the lack of respect of my time. Being busy is not an excuse for being unprofessional.

After five years of the same person cleaning our flat in 2.5 hours for $ 65. we were in need of a new service, A Sure Clean sends 2 people and estimated their time together at 2 – 2.25 hours. Almost double my previous service. It took these two over 4 hours each! And, we had to wash glass table tops they didn’t do, wash the kitchen floor, dust bedroom furniture, gather up strewn about the flat cleaning products that were not replaced, and generally rearrange things to their original places. We paid the full charges while A Sure Clean assured us they would send new experienced folks the next time and do a first rate job. Guess what? They did not show up for their next appointment. No phone call. They have not returned many phone calls to them. Nada. This outfit is a scam. Terrible cleaning, terrible customer service; after we paid the first bill they lied to us never intending to do a second first rate cleaning to compensate.

What a waste of time and money.
I tried three times to schedule the appointment: the first time, she was cleaning and asked to call me back or for me to call back. She didn’t call. Okay, so I called again and left a message. Four days later I hadn’t heard back. The third time I called, she couldn’t find her purse with her appointment book in it, and looked through her apartment and car with me on the phone. Finally she found it and we made an appointment.
She and her helper called a couple minutes after they were supposed to have arrived saying they would be late because she didn’t realize how far away I lived. I live in the middle of the central district and I had given her my address and cross street when I made the appointment. She was 45 minutes late to the appointment.
When she and her helper arrived, they appeared somewhat unkempt, but were friendly. I told them what I wanted them to do in order of priority, since I had only booked them for two hours and didn’t expect that they would get to everything on my list. About an hour and 15 minutes later, she called down that they were just about done. I came up and looked at their work and found that they didn’t do a number of things I had asked, done a sloppy job on the floors (still piles of dog hair in the corners) and had completely missed several windowsills that needed dusting. They amiably began to address the areas again that they had missed.
At one point I had to explain that I hired them to conduct a THOROUGH cleaning. If I wanted a quick once-​over, I could have done it myself. I had to walk around after them and point out missed spots and remind them of the things I had requested they clean. After they finally left, I found that the «mopping» they had done must have consisted of wiping the floor with a dirty mop. A vase was dusted in the front but not the back. The windows they washed were all streaky. I am far from a perfectionist, but when I hire a professional cleaning service, I expect quality work to be performed. These people, although nice, were a stressful and frustrating waste of time and money.

I hired Mary and A Sure Clean after the reviews on Unilocal.The first cleaning she gave me was perfect and had that continued I’d be writing that same 5 star review the other people have put down. Unfortunately it didn’t take long before the quality of the work done suffered.
I know that Mary was having some health issues but either that should be dealt with by saying «hey, I can’t do the work right now» or «Hey, we’re not going to be able to do the same quality of work as usual so I’m charging you less in hopes that you won’t look elsewhere», either of which would have been completely acceptable and understandable (and honest). Instead I came home to find that the three people I was paying for was only one person (thanks to a need to switch my days around at work I happened upon this). Mary didn’t tell me ahead of time that I was paying $ 80 for one person to clean for an hour, even though I was theoretically paying for 3 people to clean for an hour and a half (or something like that).
I don’t care how efficient that one person was, there’s no way they could do the work of three people and I shouldn’t have been charged that. Mary gave me a discount but only after I asked for it. Not the up front honest experience I wanted.
In the end the work that was done was consistently not good enough and the experience of finding I was paying for only one person (even if it was only that one time) just turned me off altogether.
Having now hired someone else that consistently cleans my house well I’d suggest that Mary would be fine if the consistency stays high. As other people have mentioned the commutation was also poor, it took ages for her to tell me what I needed to pay.
Mary is a great person and I hesitated to write this but because I used this service based on Unilocal I felt like people really needed to know that the bad experiences aren’t just one person or a fluke. Hopefully things have worked out for Mary and the service is better now. Unfortunately I will not be going back (though I love my new cleaner who is significantly cheaper and consistently great work).

Actually the gentleman in question was at my house for less than an hour so not the double time quoted in the response below. Further I’d be tempted to give this service another chance had Marie not threatened to sue me for not following through on a request from her– when she’d actually already broken our written contract by not sending (on multiple occasions) the number of people for the amount of time printed on her website. Apparently not very well versed in contract law or business practices. I actually have kept to this day all of her threatening emails so I can deal with her should she try to actually take legal action even though she broke the contract. From the other reviews it looks like nothing has changed.

The first time I had Marie and her crew come to my house, I was totally nervous about it — I had never hired housecleaners before and two clutter freaks, three cats and dog in a large 1 BD. make a lot of mess!
When I came home I literally dropped my bag and said «Oh my god, it’s fucking CLEAN!» (Then I told her she should change her business name to that statement). I have never been able to make my house as clean as it is after a visit from these guys, and their rates are amazing. For about $ 200/​month I can let all the big stuff go for two weeks at a time knowing that it will be sparkling after they come through. To boot, Marie is a huge animal lover, and it means a lot know that when she’s there my animals are not being ignored.
As someone who only has one day off a week, I am SO glad not to have to spend it cleaning! I’ve recommended a few friends to A Sure Clean, and they have been very happy as well.

We called a bunch of cleaning services on a Friday night looking for move out cleaning service because we were moving out of our apartment that weekend. Only Marie called us back immediately and was willing to come clean our apartment on Monday. It was a team of three and they were really thorough, fast, and friendly. They did a wonderful job. Our blinds were really dusty since we lived at a very busy intersection with lots of busses, and when Marie was done, the blinds were spotless. We were very glad we called A Sure Clean.

Marie and her team were amazing! My boyfriend and I wanted to clean our place really well before my family came into town for the first time to visit, and she did a great job.
We found her on Unilocal and decided to give her a call because of great reviews we saw. We called about 4 different people/​cleaning services, and she was the first to call us back. She called us in the middle of another job she was doing just to tell us that she got our message and would call us when she was finished where she was. We thought that was immediate great customer service. None of the other people called us back until the next day. Marie then made an appointment to come over to our place later that day to give us an accurate estimate according to square footage, and allow us to meet her in person. Another great customer service aspect we appreciated.
Now, we’re not terribly gross dirty people, but she made sure to get EVERYTHING we ever miss. She got details that were overlooked by us, and really made a difference in the way our place looked. The biggest thing that made us happy is that she steam cleaned our carpets, simply because we asked. I don’t believe it’s a typical service she offers. We just finished housebreaking a puppy and she was able to rent a steam cleaner, bring it over, and do all our carpets for us. She seriously made them look a TON better, all the stains were gone, and the high traffic areas were visibly cleaner. We *really* appreciated that she could do that for us!
Needless to say, my family loved our place, noticed how clean it was, and now, even after they’re gone, the carpets hold their nice bright color. :) Thanks a ton Marie :)
