Description

Specialties

The only event space in Seattle designed by première architectural firm Graham & Baba. This intimate venue boasts 17-foot ceilings and heated Koa wood floors. Two garage-style doors open onto a private deck with lush gardens (the largest urban deck space in Captiol Hill). Though located in a dense urban environment, our venue feels secluded and private. We share an internal door with our neighbor, OOLA Distillery. If you book with 10 degrees, you have the option to utilize both venues. Clients can create their own specialty cocktails using OOLA liquors and book a private tour of the facility. We very often partner with our neighbor and award winning Chef Scott Staples and his catering company, Feed Co., for food and bar service. CAPACITY: 50 people (70 – 75 if you book both 10 degrees and OOLA distillery)

History

Meet the Business Owner

KT N.

Business Owner

In 2011, KT Niehoff opened her own creative research space in Seattle called 10 degrees. 10d serves as a creative space for resident artists from Seattle and beyond — and event rentals subsidize the costs for artists.

KT Niehoff is Seattle based artist who makes events, dances, music, films, classes and spaces and fosters creative communities. Since 2006 Ms. Niehoff’s creative pursuits have focused on audience/artist/proximity, resulting in the majority of her work happening in non-traditional spaces.

Ms. Niehoff is a veteran teacher of contemporary technique, composition and improvisation. For over 15 years she has taught throughout the U.S. and abroad — Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Oberlin College, Cornish College of the Arts, Tisch School of the Arts, University of Washington, The Hong Kong Academy of the Performing Arts, The SNDO Amsterdam — to name a few.

Ms. Niehoff founded and ran Capitol Hill staple Velocity Dance Center in Seattle from 1996 – 2006.
