I took my car to JP Automotive after the Subaru dealership quoted me outrageous pricing for engine repairs. Otto conducted his own diagnostic and not only explained the problem, but offered options. He knows what he is talking about and is really fair and honest when it comes to pricing. I couldn’t be happier with the service. In my opinion, he is the «car doctor» to go to. Not only is he knowledgeable and skilled at his trade, but he is trustworthy.
I recommend them wholeheartedly!

Never again! My car was running really rough while out driving. This was the closest shop to were I was at. Took it in for diagnostics, and misfire in cylinder 6. First he called me and told me my alternator was bad. An alternator that was replaced 2 months ago. He calls me and tells me cylinder 6 was hydra-​locked and full of fuel and now my starter was making really bad noises which it has never done before. He tells me I need spark plugs which were also replaced in the last 1000 miles. As far as diagnostics there was a $ 90 charge for nothing because he did no diagnostics and instead replaced everything at cylinder 6 spark plug, injector, and coil pack. Upon picking up my car he tells me my starter needs shims (again very poor diagnostics) this is not a 1980’s chevy it requires no shims as most modern cars don’t. I told him again the starter has never made any noise. Upon getting home i put my car on a jack and inspect the starter. One of the two mounting places on the starter is cracked and completely broken off the housing of the starter. Im assuming with the cylinder hydra-​locked they kept turning the key until the starter broke.

JP Automotive was recommended by my boyfriend’s mom a few years back. She is very choosy about where she gets any type of service done, and Otto at JP definitely meets her high standards. I am so glad to have Otto as my mechanic. He knows his stuff, he’s honest, and he always explains what’s going on with your car and what the options are. I will be going back to him.
