Clarion Hotel Seattle Airport

Two stars hits the spot right for this place. As stated in many reviews the hotel is a good place to crash for some sleep, but nothing more. Staff was not too knowledgeable about doing their own jobs, and the rooms didn’t seem taken care of (see my photos of the bathroom). No free breakfast, purchase only. On the plus side it is very close to the airport.

Simply one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
First off, when we got to the hotel around 10 AM they refused to check our bags, telling us we should just leave them in our car while we waited for check in. Secondly, their check in time wasn’t until 1 PM (??). Thirdly, for a hotel this ungodly expensive you’d think they’d at least have free coffee– but no, their breakfast is 15 dollars before tax. Fourth, when we finally checked in around 10 after we’d spent some time in the city, we were hassled by an INCREDIBLY rude clerk who couldn’t have been older than 21 and certainly acted like it. She also smelled heavily of cigarettes.
After spending an hour trying to get them to let us check in, they gave us keys that didn’t work and we had to go back and get new ones. They told us that it was probably our fault, because apparently, according to them, even being in the same room with a cell phone or a credit card can demagnetize a key card. Pretty confident the lazy girl who checked us in just decided we didn’t need to check in.
The décor is incredibly tacky and very old. Elevator feels like you’re going to fall and die. Floors are slanted. Carpets are disgusting. Housekeeping knocked on my door 5 times the first morning while I had a «do not disturb» sign up.
DO NOT STAY HERE. I’ve stayed at Motel 6s where the service was better.

I often have to book a hotel in the Seatac area due to local conventions that I attend. I have been staying at the Clarion off and on every year or two since approximately 2007. I stay for approximately 2 to 3 nights each time I visit. I prefer the Clarion over all other Seatac hotels because of two simple reasons:
1. Ideal location
2. FREE FREAKING PARKING!!!
Why ANYONE else would prefer to stay anywhere else (if they are driving in like I am) is a mystery to me, when parking at any of the other hotels can easily be $ 20+ per day. I have left the Holiday Inn hotel after a 3 day weekend with over $ 100 in parking fees. It’s not worth it to have to pay so much for such a simple thing. If you’re paying for a room at the hotel, why in the flying hell do they charge you for parking as well? You are already a paying customer, what reason do they have to slap MORE fines on you? Most people are bussing, taxi-​ing, or shuttle-​ing in, so why such strict fines for people that have their own vehicles? It pisses me off.
Anyway, the Clarion doesn’t do that. If you see a space in their parking lot, and you are staying at one of their rooms, that space can be yours free of charge. The only downside is that sometimes there are not spaces. But if you wait around a little bit one always opens up. This place is a god send for a poor person like me who doesn’t want to pay a small fortune just to leave my car somewhere.
The location is perfect for people doing airport business. Additionally, most Seatac conventions take place at the Hilton Convention Center which is right across the street, so the Clarion is a front row seat.
I have never noticed people here to be rude, nor have I noticed the rooms to be gross. Maybe I’ve just been lucky, or maybe I just understand that cheap hotel room within an airport district aren’t designed to be royal palaces.

This hotel smells like dead hookers covered and perfume.
With that being said, the beds are uncomfortable, the room is clean but covered in so much fragrant air freshener, you wonder what type of things are hiding in there
Front desk staff was very friendly. What makes this location great is the proximity to the airport. You can walk across the street and catch a flight if needed

This was by far the worst experience at a hotel that I have ever had. Not only were the receptionist rude and attempting to multitask while checking us in, but the entire hotel was disgusting. After receiving my keys I carefully walked to my room because I was scared that I was going to get jumped! When entering my room (which took me awhile to find, because of the poor signage and I had to go through a maze to get there), I was greeted by a huge stain on my floor as well as my comforter. The entire room was so gross. Then as I entered the bathroom things got even worse. The towels were all dirty, there was a musty scent coming from the room, and there were hairs all over the bathtub. Let me just say, I slept with the lights and TV on and I will never being going back here.

Not a good experience when the room you go to has not been cleaned. I checked in before the 50 people behind me but now I have to wait for them to check in to get a clean room (@???

I stayed at Clarion Hotel during my time in Seattle due to the proximity to the light rail station at SeaTac. For the cost each night, this hotel wasn’t bad. However, everything else was.
Beginning with the concierge, there was a cold feeling from the employees here. I never saw any of the concierge people smiling from check-​in to check-​out; it’s like they seem to hate their jobs and are being forced to just to pay their bills. At least in other hotels I’ve stayed at, people tend to like their jobs.
The rooms were probably the highlight of my stay, as they weren’t that bad. It was about average for a $$ hotel, and if everything stayed okay from here, I would’ve given it 3 stars.
During the final night of my stay, I returned to my hotel room, only to find out nobody did housekeeping in my room! I went down to the concierge, only to have a rather indifferent reaction to us with respect to the lack of housekeeping. They did, however, gave us a business card with the manager’s name and told us to call her tomorrow. However, when we called her the next day she wasn’t there. So we left a message with our phone and email in order to contact us back, and up to this day she never did (and I’m almost 2 months past my vacation).
Therefore, given the circumstances of this hotel, I will not be returning.

Horrible. First room reeked of cigarette smoke couldn’t get past the door. Second room had blood on the walls in the bathroom. They moved us to a third room but we could not trust it’s cleanliness based on the first two rooms. It was very late and we could not cancel our reservation so we could go to another hotel so we stayed and we wiped down our room with disinfectant wipes ourselves. The one redeeming factor was the staff. They were friendly and helpful but could do very little to help us other than move us from room to room. Don’t stay here, the low cost is not worth it.

My experience at this hotel was pleasant. Late check in was fast and friendly. Although the kitchen was closed at 10pm, their snack shop was well stocked. Our room was cool since the AC was on and very clean. The bathroom was stocked with towels and cups — it’s strange to poop where you make coffee, but I guess that’s what cheap do. One concern I have was there were two towels with a red substance on — it could have been blood, but I wasn’t sure. There wasn’t any hot water in room 115 and the wifi signal was weak.
The location of this hotel was perfect. LINK line and airport across the street. ill probably stay again next time!

Cab is only $ 5 to here. Get it because the shuttle will be full and you’ll need to wait «ten minutes» (20−30m) for the next one. First impressions are everything so this did not bode well.
Side note: Cabbies are dicks about the short ride so tip them well and relish in the look of shame they have after unloading your bags.
Room is OK, good enough for a few hours sleep for an overnight layover.
Front desk and Bistro staff were friendly enough to up my rating from 2 to 3 stars for the entire experience. Also the Bistro’s Pizza, burger, and Caesar salad were spot on and $ 10 each. I bet it’s purposely there to cheer you up after a bad first impression — well played guys :)
I think I’d give them a second chance before making a final judgment.

Check in was rushed; the front desk clerk, Timothy, was knowledgeable about services but lacked tact & situational awareness that would have made him wise. Hot water was not working — lukewarm in a couple of our rooms.

Affordable and comfortable place to stay near the airport and restaurants! I would stay here again.
I got complimentary toothpaste and mouthwash from the front desk, since I ran out.
It’s your middle-​of-​the-​road hotel. Not luxury or new, but not scummy either.
I thought it was clean and had the basic amenities I was looking for during my single-​night stay.

Stayed here for a work conference. Room was below average. Shower was horrible, zero water pressure, wasn’t sure if there was enough pressure to wash the shampoo from my hair. Conference room was horrible and they allowed way too many tables in it. Hallways to the rooms look like they hadn’t had any work done to the since the place opened. They claimed Wifi, but never got it to work, neither did anyone in my group. Don’t waste your time or money here.

I usually stay next door at the Crowne Plaza, but last minute layover had me here.
In my past experiences with Clarion Hotels, they were like an upscale Quality Inn… Fancier room and amenities.ect.
Not so much here.
This one is showing it’s age, and slightly run down. Leaking door closers, peeling wall paper, worn carpet, les than average wifi, ect.
The bed was very comfortable despite the rooms flaws, it was clean and i had a good nights sleep.
The service was great. The front desk staff, my waitress in the lounge and the shuttle bus driver were all amazing.
I had dinner and a few beers in the onsite lounge. Hamburger and a local IPA off tap.
The burger was easily $ 8 cheaper than a few places within walking distance and very good.
The beer cold and the service great.
With a make over this could be a great hotel close to SeaTac, and give the Crowne, Hilton and Marriott a run for their money.
A good place for overnight, but until they upgrade the rooms and wifi I have doubts for anything longer than that.

The best part of the hotel, and the main reason my partner and I booked it, is it’s location. Very convenient to the Seattle airport (with a free shuttle) and about a block from the light rail station. It’s a very basic hotel. It was noisy at night from nearby parking lots and a lot of noise in the halls. The bed was okay. The maid service was good. They actually rearranged how we had our suitcases and things in the bathroom which was a first but did make things nicer. The television is just okay, and the fan didn’t seem to work very well as the room got very stuffy. The bathroom shower was great, very powerful although you had to compete for hot water if you took a shower during the morning. One issue we had was the bathroom light didn’t work very well. You’d turn it on and nothing would happen. If you left it on, it’d eventually turn on after an hour or so. We did mention it to the maid, but no one fixed it. The wifi is free and the signal is great. There’s a restaurant where you can get a good breakfast attached to the building and we also walked by a gym several times. Budget feel but awesome location if you plan to visit Seattle daily or need good access to the airport.

While conveniently located this hotel needs some serious help and investment. The room I stayed in had a brick wall as a view out of my room, the toilet didn’t flush AND to top it all off — the did NOT clean my room the last night of my 3 night stay. When I called the front desk they said they got busy and could not get to it and the cleaning staff has gone home. When I asked if they could do a dollar adjustment to my bill — he laughed! The bar had no light beer and closed at 9pm. The only good part of the Clarion is that they do have free shuttle service to the airport and the drivers are friendly and helpful.

The staff was courteous. But horribly mildewed. Gross beds. I felt like Jules and Vince when they go to shake down Brett in Pulp Fiction. Luckily, I only stayed one night. Needed a crash pad. I guess a PRO is that the light rail into town is, like, right there. Plus a shuttle that comes every so often. The pictures didn’t look anything like the rooms. And WAYYYYYY overpriced for what you get.

This was about the only place near SeaTac that wasn’t booked up for the night we stayed prior to an early morning flight. That said, it was actually pretty decent.
The room was clean, the Wifi worked well, and the beds were comfortable enough. The hotel was quiet after dark, nobody partying in their rooms keeping everyone up. The standard stuff was all mostly fine.
Here’s where I dock some points: the bathroom needed some attention. It wasn’t dirty, but it needed some maintenance. The grout between the tiles was severely discolored (it wasn’t dirty in the sense that it’s something that could be easily scrubbed out… it was really something that just happens with time and it makes the tub look unattractive) and some wallpaper was torn off the wall above the shower head. The water took some time to heat up in the shower, and the sink did not have great water pressure. The big one for me though was the lack of a mini-​fridge; to me, this is something that every hotel room needs and should be considered standard – we didn’t actually realize the room was missing until we had already ordered a pizza and wanted to stash some leftovers until morning.

This hotel doesn’t look anything like the pictures. The pics make it look clean. Seemed like everywhere I went stuff was broken. Can’t be sure because the wallpaper is torn but there was what looked like urine on the wall behind the toilet.
If you needed anything you for sure were made to feel like you were bothering them at the front desk. Spent four days there because of work waiting to move to the red lion. Talk about night and day.

Was pretty much our last resort since every other hotels/​motels/​inns were fully occupied. The price was decent for what we got. Front desk reception weren’t that pleasant. A little bit of an attitude.
What you get is what you paid for, pretty much.
Nothing special, no fridge or microwave in rooms. Enjoyed the fitness center but doesn’t look like the staff know that room existed. Been here two days and the same garbage pale is still filled with the same garbage and cups never refilled. If that room is like that, I can only imagine what every other room is like.
