I was just passing through Seaside for a weekend, and saw Valhalla from the road as we were making it to our inn.
I just showed up to train the following morning and they welcomed me with open arms and allowed me the opportunity to participate in their alpha fit class. It was epic! Such a fantastic workout, great community of positive people, and wonderful coaches…

I joined Valhalla in December of 2010 with a desire to up my physical fitness, strength, endurance, flexibility and overall well being. Now nearly five years later, my personal results have vastly surpassed where I thought I could go after 50. The facility is a fully equipped Box with all the state of the art apparatus for cross fit style training. MMA Professional Fighter and Top Coach, Ira Evansen, and his great coaching staff have encouraged and inspired me from the start. Daily workouts are posted for the week on the gym’s boards and online, so you can see what’s coming and which workouts you want to fit in. There is a great diversity of members; from amateur/​professional athletes to moms and dads who want to stay in physical shape to the 20 and 30 somethings looking for a great fitness challenge. MMA and Zumba evening classes are also offered and great fun to mix up your workouts. When I showed up for my first zumba class at Valhalla I thought I might need to be in better shape to keep up. But as the class got going I realized all I had to do was try & have fun! People were laughing and high fiving each other between songs. As a teacher, Erin sets that class with a positive and encouraging vibe. It’s obvious that every type of zumba dancer is accepted into this community. I was impressed and comforted by the variety of people in attendance. I highly recommend this class!

Valhalla Alpha Fitness School of Combat is Seaside Oregon’s most comprehensive gym. It offers Crossfit classes, MMA fight training, Jiu Jitsu, Zumba, Hip-​hop, 24-​hour access to exercise equipment and Muay Thai. The environment is upbeat, eclectic, high-​energy, and motivating. The owner, Ira, is knowledgeable and fit, with a long history of training and fighting. All the trainers are qualified and approachable. I highly recommend paying this gym a visit.
