Sullivan’s Tire Pros & Auto Service

I’ve been going to Sullivan’s for my tires for a few years now. They always take care of me, remember me & my car, are personable, and follow through with any concerns I relay to them. I appreciate the service, thank you!

I just want to thank the guys who were working today, ¹²⁄₂₆. Really nice and helpful. Unfortunately they couldn’t get me a tire today but the nice guy who helped me was about 100x better than the idiot at Monterey BMW.

Been a customer 25 years and I always felt that I was in good hands. But no more. The three hours over their estimated time and a room full of disgruntled clients frustrated me. But four new tires later, two are defective and were replaced by another store. I’m finished with Sullivan’s due to their lack of service and defective product. Worse, they tried to upsell us for oil change, tune up and non tire related service. I just don’t trust them anymore.

I’ve bought two sets of tires from Sullivan’s. They had the Consumer Reports highly recommended Continental ContiProContacts, while Costco didn’t. Good price, good installation service. I also get my 5000-​mile services done at Sullivan’s — If you’re a tire customer, they’ll change oil and filter, rotate tires, check brakes, lights, and fluids for close to $ 38, total. In a nice-​looking building, with comfortable waiting areas.

I had a great experience. I called in advance to get an appointment for a tire rotation they got me in the same day, friendly service over the phone and in person. They gave me a estimated time of completion and did not exceed it. I will return to them for future services when I need them.

Great customer service — 4 new tires fitted and aligned in the time I was told. They fitted me in on short notice too. Very happy with the tyres, service and price!

These guys are great! Been here 4 times and they’re consistently professional and very knowledgeable with anything related to tires. No one likes to pay for tires so it’s nice to have a good experience when you do. I highly recommend them!

These guys are great! As a first time tire buyer who knows nothing about tires, cars — whatever… I was given excellent customer service, bought four new tires, then went back to have them aligned. Micah was professional, knowledgeable and very kind. This was a third estimate, a little (little) higher than the others, but the only place with customer service — well worth a few bucks! I

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Shoddy, lackluster customer service at this place. I mean, if it was 1980, then you’d say their front desk wasn’t bad — but this is not 1980. People demand professional quality service from people who have their heads screwed on correctly.
The front counter people are disorganized and not very friendly — borderline rude in some cases. Too much up-​selling for my taste. Tires were installed, yeah, but attention to detail was grossly lacking. Incorrect tire pressure, extra fees, double talk, etc. — just basically low quality customer service as compared to most places around town — and this leaves you with a feeling of being more prey than a customer. It also leaves you questioning whether you can trust this shop to begin with.
At the end of the day, we felt the treatment from Sullivan’s Tire «Pros» was not pro at all really. Glad to get out of there and won’t be back — ever. Save yourself the headaches of these guys and just go to Costco’s tire shop.

The fact of the matter is this: my review above is pretty accurate based on my recent experience — as are all the reviews I have written here on Unilocal.If you had provided better service, I would have written you a more flattering review. Plain and simple.
Maybe you should read all your other 1-​STAR reviews and notice that there is a trend developing here with customers complaining about the service they are being provided. For every one customer who complains here on Unilocal,there are probably 10 others who are just quietly going away mad to your competitors. Find the problem; then solve it. As an owner, isn’t that your job?
I’ve lived on the Monterey Peninsula nearly 50 years and in that time I have been a repeat customer of Sullivan’s probably half a dozen times or so over quite a few years. I have referred both friends and family members to Sullivans as well. I’ve never have had any problem until now. However, based on my most recent poor experience at your place of business, I am choosing to take my business some place else and will no longer continue to be a customer — nor will I continue to refer other people to Sullivan’s.
Your comments here, where you simply pretend that our experience didn’t occur, rather than do something such as offer an apology, is just comical.

Beware. Satisfaction is NOT guaranteed on alignment work. Ask before alignment work begins whether ALL alignment adjustments are possible on your car (toe, camber, caster). Get any promises beforehand in writing. Shop around.

Super friendly, honest and efficient. Highly recommend to others and will come back myself if I’m ever in the area again.

This was the only place I trusted with my car for a long time and John would always help me, but I recently found out he is no longer there. They won’t tell me where he went. His been there at least 15 years that I know. Now I have to find a another tire shop. The other guys aren’t as friendly or I’m not sure if they have enough experience.

Most professional, clean and organized tire service station I have seen. Job was completed in a very timely manner with no flaws. Definitely will visit always for any tire related needs.

I had to come in here under the worst circumstances! I had blown a tire on the freeway. Boo! Sullivan’s was great though. They were friendly and polite. They changed my tires quickly and told me how I could avoid this happening to me in the future. They also have a really great and comfortable waiting room with TV’s and Keurig! I will probably make this my go to tire shop in the future.

I have used them before and found their service to be prompt as you would expect from a professional tire shop. Today, I had a flat tire on on of my cars. After having AAA change the tire, I went to Sullivan’s for the repair. I was told it would take about one hour and it did take that amount of time.
My only disappointment was the waiting time after my repairs were completed and being notified that I was set to go. I saw my car was done but no-​one called my name to let me know. Finally I walked to the service desk and asked if my car was ready. The service advisor had to leave the desk to find out. I think this was a failure of communication. He returned with my ‘service copy’ of my work done. I paid and left.
I like the quality of work, however, the service desk seems to be out of sync with the shop people. I make these comments as a former owner of an automotive business with seven locations in the San Francisco Area. They can do a better job; they need a strong manager running the operation.

I am the service writer at Susi Auto and we use Sullivan’s for our tires and alignments quite often. These guys stand by their work!

Sullivan’s Tire Pros always does an impeccable job. I bought my tires there last year. The service was quick, reasonably priced and easy for me. This morning, I woke up to a flat tire. I put on my spare and drove to Sullivan’s. I was in and out in 20 minutes and the patch up was free. I found out that they also do breaks and oil changes and scheduled an appointment with them to take a look.
The place is very neat and clean. The people that work there are always friendly and knowledgable and have never treated me as if I don’t know anything, like some places on the penninsula have. I greatly appreciate their service and will continue to reccommend Sullivan’s Tire Pros to anyone who asks.

Either these fellows are not trained mechanics at the front desk, or they simply don’t care. I went to these folks for my last two oil changes. I noticed I was having to put oil in the car between oil changes, and I have a reliable make with not very high mileage. I knew something was wrong. I informed them of this when I stopped in for my second oil change. They changed the oil, and merely stated that the mechanic would have noted any leaks or noticeable issues. They simply stated that they noticed I needed a new battery. So, I left… still uncertain that the problem was going to «go away.»
Within a relatively short time after this, I had to add a quart of oil, in a vehicle that takes four quarts total. Within two weeks of that, and less than 2,000 mi. of the 2^nd oil change, I had to add two quarts more because the car appeared to be completely OUT of oil. Returned to them, and told them about what was happening. They did nothing once again. They did not offer to look into it, but rather stood there, and behaved awkwardly before seeing me out the door. Keep in mind, I have spent a lot of money in their shop, on tires, etc.
I just took the car to a mechanic in San Jose that I know and trust. He told me that my oil filter was leaking oil so badly that the oil pan was full. BTW, regarding that new battery I needed. I watched the mechanic test it right in front of me, and the battery was perfectly fine. I won’t ever go back to these guys. Period.
