My daughter wanted dreadlocks and I tried to get them started but was not happy with the results. I went to Sandra and. she combed out the old locs and started over. They look amazing! Now my son wants them and there is only one place I would take him. Back to Sandra!

Sandra is awesome, I made an appointment after finding her on here. I’ve never had anyone flat iron or trim my hair as well as her. She’s super friendly and professional. I now live in the east bay area and I plan to still go to her. It’s so hard to find the perfect salon and I have no problem driving 1 ½ hours to get my hair done by her :)

I found Sandra on Unilocal!and was determined after a bad haircut to completely transition to natural hairstyles — I told Sandra that the very first time and she has helped my hair grow and become healthier over the last several months. I am beyond pleased every time I visit her! I carry around her cards and share them with all women but especially women of color! I am very pleased and happy that I found her — her prices are very reasonable and she gets me in and out every time without having to spend all day in the salon chair! I recommend her to all my friends and strangers too!

Sandra is amazing! I am new to the area and was looking for a hair extension expert in micro bead extensions. She blew me away with her technique and the hair quality is perfect! My fine, thin, Caucasian hair needed the thickness and length and volume and she came through with all! It took a little longer than i’m used to but she shows quality all the way and her care on my hair was exactly what it needed! Also she colored my hair to perfectly match the extension color that I wanted my hair to be! Her business is warm and inviting and I will be back for maintenance! I’ve never had extensions that were as thick and beautiful and blends as if it was my own. Thank you Sandra!

Everything about Sandra is amazing. I am new to the area and needed to find someone who can work with natural, ethnic hair, and Sandra is the best! She washed, blow dried, flat ironed, trimmed and styled my curly/​kinky hair in less than an hour and a half, and the results were great. So silky and pretty. She was incredibly polite and professional, and seems like a great person overall. Her prices were reasonable, too. I ABSOLUTELY recommend her!

The first time I went to Sandra was my wedding day! I was looking for a place close to my venue to avoid rushing, the wind and possible rain. I found Sandra on Unilocal.When I called her, she also arranged for my make-​up to be done! I couldn’t be happier.
Sandra is fantastic! Both my hair-​do and make-​up were so great that there was no single person at the wedding who did not comment on the fantastic job Sandra and Karen did. Even my mother could not believe I was her daughter! And all for such a reasonable price, a sweet treat when you have high wedding expenses.
4 months later, I went to Sandra for a hair cut. Honestly, I don’t remember I ever got such beautiful hair cut and styling. I could not believe my hair could possibly look and behave like that; and I did not lose the length either! I highly recommend Sandra if you want to boost your self-​esteem and look fantastic without paying tons of money.

I was desperate to find someone. I checked Unilocal and thanks to these reviews they lead me to the very best stylist on the Monterey Pennisula without doubt. I am always pleased with my hair when I come into see Sandra. Her hair cuts are very flattering and my two teenage daughters are happy when they leave her salon. Sandra always has a great attitude and a nice smile. She also colors my hair and wax too.

Sandra Havens has been my stylist for over ten years, and I’ve followed her from previous salons. She is the best hair stylist I’ve ever had. She has an artist’s eye (and a degree in Art) for form and color, knowing exactly how to cut my hair for the shape of my face. She is simply the best.

I completely destroyed my hair and was in search of an excellent hair stylist who charged reasonable prices. I asked a friend of mine who has absolutely beautiful hair who her hair stylist was. She gave me Sandra Haven’s card and said, «I love Sandra! I keep her cards with me, because everywhere I go, someone asks me who does my hair. Sandra is not only a wonderful hair stylist who repaired my hair, she charges such reasonable prices and is such a sweetie! I recommend her to everyone!
I have referred her to friends who are African American, and they love the way she styles their hair. One of my friends has dreadlocks, and her hair looks so much healthier since she’s been going to Sandra.
One day when Sandra just purchased SC Studios, the salon filled up with her clients coming to give her support and love! What I realized is that when people become Sandra’s clients, most likely the relationship will shift into a deep friendship! Sandra often says, «I love my clients so much! My clients are my friends!»
She’s truly a beautiful person whose goal is to make people feel beautiful and loved. She does a great job!

When I first met Sandra at another salon she worked at, she told me «I’ll give you the best cut you’ve ever had», she was right. I have very curly ‘mixed’ hair that has a mind of its own… I was delighted to discover Sandra has extensive experience with my type of hair! First she straightens (quick & to perfection), then she cuts. Great price, great convo, great cut.
I’ve followed her for the past few years, a few of my friends have too. She is very good at cutting, styling and coloring all hair types. Though I would drive hours, I’m over the moon about her purchasing this salon, as I live nearby.

The ladies at SC Studios definitely helped me when I found myself in a pinch. :)
Sandra returned my call promptly when I called to inquire about having a sew-​in done while I was visiting a friend. The quote she gave me ($ 200 which was also on the website) did not change when I arrived at her salon and she (and her daughter) was just as friendly and professional in person as she had been on the telephone. The salon space was pretty clean and well kept. There are nice big windows to let in lots of natural light.
Upon my arrival, Sandra washed and blow dried my hair. Her daughter Alisa braided my hair (she is not a hairstylist), under the watchful eye of her mother. I commented on how nice it was to have photos of the stylists’ work on the website since I was not from the area. Sandra shared with me that she had recently purchased the salon and salon name from the previous owner only about a month ago, so the work on the website was not hers. She asked if she could take a picture of the braid work and mesh net installation to add to the website as she makes the business her own and I agreed.
The braiding and sewing of a mesh net on my hair took about an hour. I was so happy, because it looked as if for once, I was going to be out of a new hair salon in under 3 hours. I was very disappointed that from start to finish the process took about 5 hours.
My stylist in Tampa has never taken more than 2 ½– 3 hours from start to finish with my full sew-​in. This includes a wash, dry, braid, mesh net, sew-​in, and style. I always leave happy and amazed with how wonderful I look, no matter if she has styled me with an inverted bob or with long layers. This said, both ladies at SC Studios gave equal attention to detail and showed pride in their work, similar to my stylist back home. Alisa’s braid were even and tight and time and care were given when sewing the extensions :)
I was the only client other than a flat iron client and a trim client that came in while I was in the chair. Sandra had her daughter continue working on my hair while she worked on those two clients. I definitely appreciated not having to wait between clients. Sandra’s installation technique was new and interesting to me. Rather than measuring and cutting the extensions, she instructed her daughter to sew them in a back and forward pattern, not cutting until the very end. I typically use a pack and a half on hair, which was the same amount used. This technique, I feel, makes the extensions lay slightly flatter than normal, which is nice.
I travel quite a bit for work so I have had my fair share of horrible hair experiences. As a rule, I buy shorter extensions when I am not in Tampa, allowing for the hair to be long enough to look like it was styled/​cut, but short enough for the stylist not to have to do too much to it. Sandra did even out the layers a bit, but did not really «style» it. She flat ironed my natural hair at the top, covering my extensions, but did not curl or flat iron the extensions. I found this a bit disappointing, especially, when I got back to my friend’s house and she asked why she could see the extensions through my hair on the top. My usual stylist uses «pump it up» or other foam setting solutions, to style the top of my hair, so you can not see the tracks. I partly take blame for not saying something when she did not style my hair, but I also had the sense that that was not really her thing. I could be wrong though.
Overall Sandra’s daughter really did the majority of my hair, but her mother was there on hand assisting her and vice versa. I was nice to see them working well together. They really did help me out when I was in a pinch and I am happy that I found them. I would recommend them and I would visit the salon again.
