Food is delicious… Our favorite is the spicy fried fish… Excellent flavor. Clean restaurant, attentive staff.

The food was okay. I got Vietnamese crab cake noddles. I tasted better in San Jose. But for seaside it was okay. I didn’t like the service. It took us forever to order food at first. But I like that the food was delivered fast.

Tasty and reasonably priced food. We had Chicken Foo young, Mandarin wings and Black Bean Catfish… We asked for extra spicy and the taste was finger lickin’ good!

Favorite place for Chinese food, their mandarin chicken is amazing! The workers there are awesome. They make cool doodles on the takeout boxes.

Nice staff and the food was good but the service was a little slow despite not being too crowded. I would go back.

This is the best Chinese & Phở food in the area and the price is right. We always order take away so I’m not sure how the in-dining service is but the take away is always fresh, hot & ready. Our favorites are the Phở and the crispy spicy pork.

This restaurant has the best phở on the Monterey Peninsula! They have been in the area for 30+ years and a nice family as well. The mushu is great too — and they have a good boba! You won’t eat phở anywhere else after you’ve been here!

This place is a solid choice for anyone craving phở or in need of a quick place to grab lunch or dinner in Monterey. I’ve had my fair share of phở in the area and even the more expensive, pretentious looking places didn’t live up to my expectations as well as this place did. Not to say it’s exceptional, but more like upwind of satisfying, which is good enough for me and most other people. Get the large beef phở if you’re hungry. The sour catfish soup(!!!) for when you’re feeling adventurous/looking for a light yet completely filling low carb option. Don’t be fooled by the humble-looking exterior of this restaurant and take the majority of the locals’ word for it when they say this place is good. It is. 4.5 stars; I give it 5 to round up.

Delicious ! Every time we are in the area we will be eating here. We were not put off by being the only caucasians in the place, we actually take that as a good authentic sign and we were not disappointed. Had the Vietnamese meal for two for $ 26 which came with an appetizer, soup and two entrees. All perfectly spiced, fresh ingredients and so good!

Probably my go to restaurant in the area. High quality home-made Vietnamese/Chinese selections. The Phở, Dry Mandarin Chicken and the Orient Foo Young(best Foo Young I have had anywhere) are the stand outs. I have known May(the owner) for almost 2 decades. This restaurant is one of the hidden gems of the Monterey Peninsula. Better than any of the«fancy» places — this hole in the wall will make you a repeat customer. Very affordable and very delicious.

As always the food never fails here! It is constantly constant… so is the service. I ordered my dry mandarin chicken extra crispy, egg flower soup and glass noodles. My go to soup has always been hot and sour soup but my friend suggested the egg flower and I am glad We tried it. I think it is much more flavorful and water chestnut gives it an added touch. There were a lot of people when we entered and they did give us our menu as we sat down, but taking our order was quite a wait, as usual. but the food thank goodness did not take long after we finally ordered!

We cannot say enough positive things about this place. After 30 years, this guy is as good as it gets. He makes his own sauces from scratch. That includes the sweet-n-sour sauce, which means it is not too sticky sweet like typical Asian sauce. A local turned us onto this place and we won’t go anywhere else. We enjoyed the prawns(butterflied) which look large and taste great and BBQ pork chow mein. We recommend the squid with pepper sauce as well. What makes this place great is that it is clean and not greasy. The owner is Vietnamese and he cuts back on the fat wherever possible. Whoo Hoo! If you got slow service in the past — realize that this is a family restaurant. It may take some time, but it is definitely worth the wait!

sauteed beef with noodles a-one. In addition to excellent Viet dishes, their Chinese food is some of the best in town. fresh fresh food ! Crazy about the Thai Iced Tea, and the sake is very nice also . High quality with decent prices. Good service. What more can one want in a restaurant? Of course, the atmosphere is family style. if you search hard, you might find glamour surroundings at twice the price… but not any better food . Sake

I’m a huge Mongolian beef fan, it’s my favorite dish in any Chinese/Asian restaurant. But this… I don’t know what it was. First of all, there were mushrooms, which I normally love, but these were definitely canned and were not appetizing, Then the abundance of bamboo shoots to fill space. Very little green onion. The sauce was bland and had very little spice. There were no rice noodles. It just wasn’t magnolia beef! Small portions too. The service was strange. The guy at the counter seemed to be busy looking through old checks and adding numbers, not very attentive. Kind of cold. I had also ordered the«half liter of wine» and received a glass. Which I totally didn’t mind because I wanted to leave anyways. Took a long time to get the check. I work as a waiter so I have high standards when I go to a restaurant. Probably wouldn’t return.

Horrible!!! Have you ever had or seen a burnt dish before? I have to say its my first time at a restaurant. I ordered chicken chowmein and that thing was visually burnt and smelled burnt and they continued to serve it to me. WTH. Even the worst places will toss it and cook a new batch. Total avoid. I should have known from 1st impression of this ghetto joint. And if you can’t get Chowmein right, what else can you get right?

I had the vietnamese glass noodles and the imperial rolls. The imperial roll sauce was ok. It had the peanut sauce, peanuts, some hot sauce & pepper. The pepper grossed me out. Also the rice-paper on the imperial roll had a dry corner(eew). But the filling was good. Shrimp, pork, rice noodles, cucumber, cilantro, lettuce. All in all, i prefer noodle bar(in marina) since the seaside noodle bar is a literal solid-long-table-BAR. The thai tea pearl drink was alright. Mild in flavor.

Five stars all the way, baby! Stopped in twice this week for a lovely noodle bowl, post-workout meal. Service was very good. First trip in we came during their break(between 230 and 500) and they still let us come in, which I really appreciated. Bonus points for that! My mom and I ordered the Lettuce and Eggroll Noodle bowls. Absolutely wonderful! Glass noodles heaped over lettuce with crispy vegetable egg rolls, topped with basil, cilantro and mint sprigs. Comes with a sweet ‘n spicy sauce to pour over the noodles. So aromatic and the flavor combinations in this medley are out of this world! Second time in, you guessed it, we ordered the same thing! I also had the coffee pearl drink and on the second trip tried the avocado pearl drink. Both were very good. There is hoisan sauce, siracha sauce and soy sauce at your disposal. Such a wonderful place… I’m thinking third times a charm. You might see me in there again this week.
