History
Established in 1976.
Frank Martin came to America from Spain at the age of 16. He began his adult life as a landscape contractor, and then decided to open an irrigation store. His motto was simple, «great things start with quality service».
The story goes that he was unloading a truck at a job site, when he began talking with another gentleman there. Frank wanted to open an irrigation supply and felt compelled to ask him his opinion. The gentleman turned to him with a cigar in his mouth, and between the haze of smoke came the words, «it will pay for the gas!» This gentleman turned out to be the retired Vice President of Buckner, a company that started in 1912. His name was Walter Lauritzen, and he not only encouraged but also drove Frank to Fresno, to weather tech, and then the Buckner foundry. Frank went inside and spoke to the sales rep. He frequently went back and forth between the penninsula and Fresno to pick up pipe. Soon his son, James Martin, joined the endeavour. Stop by for the Rest of the story
