3 words: Morning Glory Muffins! They’re awesome.(Carrots, flour, pineapple, apple, raisins, walnuts, coconut). Spouse buys these from a Gas&Shop in Morgan Hill on his way to/from Southern Cal.

Ordered my parents 50th anniversary cake from here, it was beautiful and tasted great! Good price and very nice staff, I will definitely be ordering cakes from here in the future. I was recommended to try this place from a coworker who always orders his cakes here for our company birthday events, Definitely a great recommendation.

They make the best Morning Glory Loaves ever! They sell them to the Carmel Roasting Company, but you can buy the whole loaf at Cypress for less than the price of two slices at the coffee shops.

Cypress is one of those weird little secret places. There’s no sign, just an awning. You wouldn’t expect it from the name, but this is a panaderia. I usually have to speak Spanish when I come in. The Mexican items they have are quite good. To my knowledge, this is the only place in the area that makes empanadas. The setup is a bit weird, as they have tall carts in front of the display cases, but the carts are where the fresh stuff is, so you should hit them first. Funny fact about Cypress: a lot of places in town source from them. Carmel Valley Roasting Company, for instance(so probably also their East Village coffee shop). And it feels a bit like a commercial bakery. I would not necessarily come in looking to spend some time inside. There are people hanging around every time I come in, but they always give me weird looks, and they seem to know the staff. Like any panaderia that’s worth a damn, this place is super cheap. A reasonable amount of baked goods for one person runs under $ 2. Well worth the effort, if you can find it.

If I could give zero stars I would. Tried this place since it is near work. I ordered a torta. I was not that impressed with the flavor but I was hungry. I bit into a fake nail!!! My tummy turned. I took the remainder of the torta back to the bakery and the cashier did apologize. She said that it must have been the person who prepared it. I did not watch the employee prepare my torta. So she obviously did not follow proper food safety preparation. Sounds like they were aware this issue since they were not surprised. Eeewww.

Affordable bakeries!!! Came here after a late dinner and they were still baking! For the cost and selection, this place is pretty awesome! Great place for cheap eats! I chose six items and it only cost $ 4. How cool is that?!

I am super lucky because I am one of those people who don’t care for baked goods — I don’t like cakes or pastries — I am a straight up chocolate person. When I am craving something sweet I can satisfy the sweet craving by running over to Troias and buying a Caramel Kit-Kat or a Peppermint Aero bar. So my work serves these cakes each morning. I would bypass them and have for the last few months going straight for the yogurt and/or hard boiled eggs. Then one morning I decided I would try just a tiny piece of what seemed to be a plain vanilla cake. Oh! My! Oh! My! The cake literally melted in my mouth. I thought about that cake all day and all night and literally drove into the parking lot the next day and headed straight upstairs to get a piece of cake. This time it was lemon poppyseed. The cake was moist with just the tiniest hint of frosting which was a little lemon-ey and jusssssst(a wee bit) enough to lend the entire cake a litttttttle bit of sweetness. Oh! My! Oh! My! The following day brought a coffee cake which is, if I had to choose, one of my favorite cakes. I liked it, but it had nuts in it — which I do not prefer in my foodstuffs. Nonetheless it was a «real» cake and had a real cake taste unlike that fat free coffee cake crap from Starbucks which takes like aspartame. So, I am heading over to Cypress Bakery right now to buy a whole cake for myself which I plan on devouring today.

Stopped in here yesterday for a quick bite to eat. These folks deliver the baked breakfast goods to 5 hotels I’ve worked at and continue to be a baking powerhouse on the peninsula. I grabbed a beef torta, couple tamales, and a piece of double chocolate cake. The torta was grilled panini style and served with all the vegetables one would want on a grilled sandwich and none you wouldn’t. The tamales were authentic tasting and wonderful and the dessert deserves a 3rd paragraph. The dessert… The double chocolate cake was good but could have been just slightly more moist. There was a perfect amount of choco frosting on it that did not hinder the taste of the cake too much. I got a few donuts and a lemon-coconut tartish thing for the coworkers. Overall, a great place to stop in a have a meal. The only seating is a few tables outside the bakery and one or two inside. See you at the counter!

the morning glory loaf and the scones are so yummy. They have the orange scone with the frosting on top. Or the blueberry ones that have the lightly sugared tops. so great to enjoy. their blueberry loafs are also quite tasty.

Unfortunately they didn’t have the cream cheese cake like things the last 2 times I’ve gone in simply because they always sell out they are so darn good but I never leave empty handed. I picked up a few fresh baked mini baguette like rolls and a plethora of Pan Dulce(they are a Panderia) all for only $ 4.50. I did a double take… what only $ 4.50??? I know, I know… I’m on a 10 day fast so unfortunately I couldn’t try any of these lovely creation, only scratch and sniff. I bought them for my friends and I think they finally get me… they realize that while I’m trying to take care of my body, I’m trying to fatten them up. I can’t believe it too them so long to figure this out.
