I was hesitant to try Ebby’s after reading some of the reviews. We ordered takeout. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. The ricotta spinach gnocchi was incredible! The order was ready on time. We will definitely go back! We did go back ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent and the service was exceptional!

The only reason why I’m not giving this establishment one star is because their food is actually very good. Weekend food preparation time is absolutely atrocious. It took an hour and twenty minutes just for our appetizers to come out!!! As an establishment, if you can’t handle the crowd and properly serve your patrons, you should either expand the Kitchen or shrink the dining area. Just pitiful… I don’t care how good your food is. Poor customer service.

Just went to Ebby’s Deli and they acted like we were bothering them! The older blonde woman, who seems to be the owner, was so rude that when I politely told her they were out of coffee she actually said, «I’ll make some more when I get to it» in the rudest tone. She’s so busy being nasty to her customers that the line at the register takes forever. The food was sub par and the service was horrendous. I can honestly say I have never been treated so poorly when spending my money in any establishment. Shame on you! Here’s one family who won’t be coming back anytime soon.

Must be under new ownership this year. Have been going out of my way to go here for years but that wont be happening anymore. Not nearly as much meat on the hoagies and the meat seems low quality now and the rolls stale. Used to be great now they are tasteless. Wont even get into the horrible and rude service and grossly dirty bathrooms. So sorry to see this once fabulous place now so awful. Run, dont walk away from Ebby’s.

So, I woke up this morning with a goal, it was a simple one, I had smelt the chicken park sub of my elder brother and his girlfriend yesterday and decided then I should try it. We called in our order to Ebby’s and it was taken marvellously over the phone but, here’s where it gets bad. We entered the store and picked up our sub we then proceeded to stand in the line(we were the only ones in line) we waited and waited. When someone finally came to the register they brought someone else’s sub’s and let them pay for it, after that once again we were skipped to accommodate another walk-in customer. When we were finally able to pay for our sub and take it home to eat it, it was FREEZINGICECOLD!

We have been getting subs sandwiches here for 25 years. Always bragged about how big and good they were. I think they have gotten to big or didn’t think through the move.(Lots of people behind the counter but only 2 making sandwiches.) Twice this season we’ve been disappointed. The quality control is non existent. Such a shame. For the money, ShopRite makes a great sub.

Best Sandwiches ever ! My fav is the tuna with the works. I have also tried the chicken panini with dipping sauce, yum and I’m particular about my sauce. The Italian sub is great too: the meat and cheese are piled so high it could feed a family of five. It has always exceeded my expectations. I have never been disappointed. Sure sometimes the wait is long but thats because it’s a great place to eat and take out. Too bad they close for the winter . Ma

The first time I went it was a Thursday in July and Carrly our server was excellent and the food was good. The second time was a disaster. It was an August Saturday night, while we were waiting 15 minutes for our reserved table, the owner said to the manager loudly, «it’/August people are lucky to eat here!» It took an hour for our appetizers, another hour for our entrees and two of our entrees were burnt. We paid and left. I went for lunch a week later and the same horrible service and food. Seven people behind the counter, no management, no organization, the manager was stocking soda, not paying attention to what was going on, the owner strolled around in his golf outfit, it took 35 minutes for our food, it was either soggy, dry or had no flavor. Never again!

We returned to Ebbys last Sunday night. Restaurant mixed up our reservations after some confusion they accommodated us. Food was good and we enjoyed our meals. Staff very nice. Place needs a lot of organization. Meals take too long to reach table. As previously stated place needs a good scrubbing and they need to do better job with washing glasses. We decided to try again Saturday night. We invited friends and it was the most embarrassing situation, 30 mins wait to be seated, we had reservations. Dirty glasswear, 1.5 hrs wait till we received our salads. Apologies were stated over and over about delay. Couple next to us sat after us was served and on dessert before we received our entrees, seems they knew someone in kitchen. About to get up and leave when three entrees arrived, one was incorrectly served. After 10 more mins. my husband, who requested a simple bolognas sauce was served… a seafood pasta. Mind you he’s allergic to shell fish. At that point he told them to just give me a bowl of rigatoni !!! It was after 10 pm, we were annoyed and embarrassed. To add insult to injury they used a cleaning agent in next room that permeated the dining room.(try cleaning dining room). They apologized again, after awhile it is annoying to hear their apologies. Claimed kitchen backed up, come on. All night? Manager removed an appetizer, the rigatoni and offered free dessert, which we took one cannoli. Terrible experience. I realize they really don’t care. Sadly to say, we will not return.

I will never EVER eat there again! We ordered 2 large pizzas and a chicken caesar salad to go. took 35 mins to get(ok, a busy friday night), when we go tit to the beach, we opened it up and it looked awful, they dumped a ladle of sauce on top in the middle, the cheese was not entirely melted, it had pools of grease all over it. even the kids didnt like it, ANDTHEYLIKEMOSTALLPIZZA! it tasted awful. The dough was not that delicious Jersey Shore yeasty dough that we love so much. We live in NJ and have had lots of pizza and this was the worst. The salad was uneventful. FOR30.00 for the two pizzas and 12.00 for the sale it was a huge waste of money and a big disappointment. This is the Jersey Shore people!!! Our expectations are much higher than this… GET A NEWCOOKWILLYOU? UGH!

Great place to go after a relaxing day at the beach. There was a lot of great choices but I went with the roast beef sandwich and it was hearty. I only got the half sandwich and they gave me a huge portion back. Make sure to come here with am appetite as they take care of you with portions. I didn’t have any of the dessert but the monster looked delicious and intimidating. it was just a large chili that was in cookie monster mouth form. I’ll probably give it a go next time I come back. Definitely recommend this place if you’re passing through.

Went to Ebby’s for dinner and was really disappointed. Luckily we had reservations, without them you could be waiting 20 – 45 mins for a table. I read the reviews, and they were right about the wait for food. Took us about 20 mins to be served bread, 45 mins to be served our appetizer(calamari) and about 60 mins for the entrée(pork chops & Sunday gravy.) Calamari was tasteless, pork chop was well cooked but tasteless and Sunday Gravy was nothing to write home about. Were the food top notch, I wouldn’t complain about the wait. But I’d say the food was mediocre at best.

Sorry, can’t agree to eat here when the place looks dirty and greasy. Instead I purchased a dozen eggs for $ 2.99 and made myself an omelet at home.

Very friendly people, the pastries, desserts, crumb cakes, etc all look fantastic. Highly recommend the raspberry crumb cake. Its a small joint but well worth the walk. Close by the Island Beach Motor Lodge where my family and i are staying currently.

Ebby’s is a place that I try to come to every time I am in Seaside. It’s the perfect pit stop for sub sandwiches and drinks to take on our beach days. The guys behind the counter make fresh sandwiches right infront of you and are very friendly. In my experience, I have ordered turkey subs, breakfast pork roll sandwiches, and BLTs. The cost is low for such big sandwiches. I usually eat a half and save the other one for later. On the other side of the deli is fresh breads and baked goods. Some of their desserts are delicious! I tried a large piece of their raspberry crumb cake. It was excellent. What I like about this place is they offer something for everybody. It’s conveniently located in a perfect spot for everyone to see. I will continue coming here when I am in the area.

This used to be my spot, but has gone a little downhill. The meatball parm sub is excellent with homemade meatballs on a nice soft roll. Get lettuce, tomato and onion on it, goes along nicely. The Ebbys Special Italian used to be my favorite sandwich in the world, but now its gotten smaller with lower quality ingredients. Its like 95% salty boiled ham, with 1 slice of pepperoni and 1 slice of salami. The roll is still amazing, as its always been, its just gotten a little shorter over the past couple of years. Its still my #1 Seaside Spot though!

We’ve been coming here for roughly 16 years. In that time, it’s never let us down. For the most part, it’s some really solid Italian food with attentive service. Great atmosphere and relaxed feel. The patio is definitely something you’ll want to put a reservation in for on weekends. Last time there, gnocchi and saltimbocca were both very solid. Specials are always very good. The only thing I miss is a special they used to have with seafood and fried spaghetti. I think it was called the Mona Lisa? That shit was amazing, but they took it off the menu about 10 years ago. Sad face. I’ve actually never ate at the deli. Maybe next time.

5 Stars for the deli. Possibly the best subs and sandwiches on the planet. A Whole will feed 4 people easy. Their roast beef is out of this world. Don’t be surprised if you find another sandwich hanging off your sandwich.

This is the longest I have ever waited for a sandwich, and I’ve been to a lot of privately run delis. We were standing there for at least 45 minutes, with only one or two other small orders in front of us. Either they don’t have enough help or it’s just poorly organized. The meats were fresh, bread was good, hoagies were huge… but my sandwich came out wrong(asked for lettuce, no lettuce) and my dad’s sandwich didn’t come out at all(we think it was given to someone else) so we had to wait an extra fifteen minutes while they re-made it. Overall, despite not having any lettuce(my dad shared his lettuce with me), I was fairly happy with the sandwich. Just not with the extreme amount of waiting. Next time we’ll call ahead. Get the«half» because the full size is a huge one, big enough for four people! I’ve never been to the restaurant part, so this is a review of the deli counter only. I’d give it one more shot, will update if I do.

This is a review of their Take out area only — not the dining room. One of my favorite places to visit when I spend a couple weeks at the NJ shore every year. Love their take out for both breakfast and lunch where the guys are churning out all the orders and always a friendly smile while being served by the girls. Some highlights. Breakfast: Their Pork Roll«Taylor Ham» Egg & Cheese on a round roll or a short Italian roll for $ 4.75 is the best anywhere from Lavallette down. Their Crumb buns for breakfast are also killer and coffee is always hot & Fresh. Lunch: All their sandwiches are good but a couple are don’t miss. Choice of Sub Bread or my favorite their Semolina Loafs. Roast Beef is real roast beef always mooing as they say rare :) very tasty… Their cold cut cheeses are boars head so any combo of Roast Beef is a winner. Also their Turkey is fresh as well not pre dried garbage. Chicken Cutlets with Fresh Mozzerella & Roasted Peppers on Semolina will make you salivate till the next one. Hot Grilled Chicken sandwich any way you want it with their balsalmic Vinegar cooking it or over a Salad is top notch. Cheese Steaks Or Italian Hot Dogs with Peppers Onions are twice to 3x the size of anything on the board walk and much better quality cuts of meets. All their sides including a variety of stuffed peppers, roasted peppers or Macaroni & Potato salads are excellent. Until Next Summer, I will miss you guys!!!
