J Ensemble

I was not coming to shop on Main St. but having the eye for the exotic, I stopped in. As usual in these types of high fashion stores, i zoomed in on the ½ off rack and found a most beautiful one of a kind piece which i could not live without. Anyone who walks into a store like this has to expect designer prices… if you don’t like it, check out Forever 21 or Heavenly Couture. I will cherish this lovely piece of clothing. I read the above reviews. I have owned my own shops, and i can tell you this: Do not hire young girls to work at such shops. Only hire a mature and classy woman who can relate to your customer base. The beautiful gal who assisted me was just that. i will be back. Even though I can’t afford it! Great collection.

I have never been so furious over a store (actually how I was treated by the employee) in my life. My three daughters and various friends of mine have shopped at this store since they opened. When I received a $ 25.00 GIFT online I decided to stop in after breakfast at Crema. The GIFT did not say that it was toward a minimum purchase. The clerk did say it was for regular price items only. Fair enough. Not needing any clothing at the time I selected a bracelet for $ 16.00. She had already called the owner and said within our hearing that «she asked about a minimum purchase.» First unprofessional and tacky move-​discussing a customer in front of the customer. Then she proceeded to tell us how next time there would be a minimum purchase required. Tacky again to discuss store business with customers. Then when I presented my certificate she said «we can’t give money back» to which I said I didn’t expect anything back. She would not let me buy the bracelet with the certificate because I wasn’t buying anything else. She was so rude and condescending. She acted like I was trying to get away with something sneaky instead of honoring the GIFT certificate. Of course I didn’t want the bracelet then because it would always remind me of how I was treated. If local shops and clerks, who take themselves and their position way too seriously, want locals to shop with them they need to learn some common courtesy. I will never shop there again and I will certainly tell my friends and daughters of my treatment.

While waiting for a table next store we started browsing… The girl helping us was great — she actually had me try on a few items that I normally would have passed on but one dress was great — I also bought a few other things. Unique items, you won’t be seeing anyone else in the same outfit. Great selection /​unique items.

I have shopped Jacqueline’s store J ENSEMBLE in Seal Beach a few times. I am not a local and I travel to Seal Beach twice a year to visit family. Writing reviews, good or bad, is not my vanity. However, I would like to say that I love this store. I am very attracted to this store’s buyer’s choices. There is a fine line between Trendy and Tacky and the owner of this store harnesses the fashion trends with such good taste. Treat yourself to a visit here. You will not be disappointed.

I LOVE THIS STORE and REALLY ENJOY coming to see all the wonderful clothes, jewelry, shoes and accessories! BUT sad to say my most recent visit WASN’T so HOT!
I was on my way to lunch after having to take my older dog to the vet that morning for breathing issues! So needless to say I had a headache the size of Manhattan! I wasn’t going to go in but I SAW SOME AMAZING SHOES in the window I just had to try on! I figured if they fit me I’d get them for my mom because we wear the same size! But to no avail! The young girl was SUPER HELPFUL and on my way out I spotted a AWESOME ring I wanted and ABSO-​FIRCKIN-​LUTLY don’t need. So put it back to give it some thought over lunch!
I decided to come back and try on another pair of shoes to go with this eggplant color dress I have and they happen to have a pair of shoes that was the PERFECT color! GREAT HEEL, made of rubber and SUPER COMFY! Like a high heel slipper! The owner was in the process of eating her lunch when I walked in and after trying on the shoes I put back the display to take a gander at some other things in the store and she was just simply rude toward me! I tried to ask questions and to no avail completely ignored!
First you think maybe the person didn’t hear you but when you are up in there face and still no responds then you know your getting the cold shoulder! The young lady that was helping me was sent to lunch and she was for sure not trying to get up from eating her lunch! Hey I get wanting to stuff your face because I LOVE TO EAT but there was REALLY NO REASON to be snappy, unresponsive and snotty toward me!
I was SUPER SHOCKED! I have been to the store several times and NEVER had that experience! There was another lady in there at the same time trying on shoes and when she had to leave I was deciding to buy the ring I spotted when I was first in there along with a few sweaters, and a couple pair of shoes I tried on! BUT after she thought being a COMPLETE SNOT was great behavior I decided to NOT buy the items except for the ring! She literally threw the receipt and pen at me to sign! It’s NOT my fault YOU could NOT be bothered to CRACK A SMILE and be NICE! Which is a shame because I was about to do some damage with my plastic! THANKS FOR SAVING ME MONEY!
I don’t know if she was STRESSED out because of the holidays or what but it was REALLY UNNECESSARY and offensive! I hope this is NOT the type of service I can expect from this store going forward! I REALLY ENJOY SPENDING MY MONEY here and she ALWAYS has some AWESOME ITEMS! But I really have NO PROBLEM in finding another store where the service is GREAT along with MERCHANDISE! Boutiques are a dime a dozen. They are almost like liquor stores or Starbucks on every corner!
AGAIN GREAT STORE and MERCHANDISE and USUALLY GREAT SERVICE! But I will have to take away a couple stars for the service I received! Such a PITY!

The store’s collection is great, but the owner is not a honest person. She lie about the price and the year of the collection. When I found out the piece she sold me was from fall 2012 instead of current year (she told me so), she made more lies on top of the lie she made when she sold me the piece. She was extremely rude on the phone when I told her I found out about her lie. A person only wants customers’ money, not anything else. I’ll never shop there again even though I love their collection.

J. Ensemble just gets better with time. Wonderful selection, great rpices. Fun place to shop too. They open early on Saturdays and I think Sundays too. One of my all time favorite shops. One of these times I will be in town for one of the Events here. Cute stuff all over the place. I got two bras here… exactly what i was looking for. Jacqueline the owner said one of theam was a «best seller. »

I have shopped here for years and just love it (and the pieces are of great quality and last!) The owner is hands on with advice and styling and the staff is always great as well.
We had a group of friends wanting a night out and Jacqueline kept the store open late especially for us and even had champs and a cheese platter!

There are not enough recent reviews of this store to do it justice. The clothing selection is very up to date and so chic. I moved to this area about two years ago and always admired the clothing in the window while having a fine meal at Crema Café. Only when my sister from Ohio came to visit did I venture in. What a dope! To think of all the opportunities I missed. The collection this Spring is outstanding. My sister and I didn’t have nearly enough time to shop but she did find plenty of things to take home with her. If anything, you have to step in and seriously look around before driving down to South Coast Plaza. Jacqueline, her sister, mother and her assistant know an awful lot about clothes and pulling an outfit together with all the accessories… scarfs, purses, shoes, belts, necklaces. It’s a one stop shop with lots of flair. I will be coming back again and again. Would appeal to young women say, 25+ and older women too. En plus, elles parlent francais!

Jacqueline is the owner of this quaint little shop. She is very involved, holds extremely high standards of her employees and product. Every time I go by I see her organizing and cleaning her store or engaged as a personal shopper for her customers. She has passion and hires the same kind of people. Quality product and service!

Pushy sales people. Overpriced merchandise. Exchanges or store credit only. Not my idea of a quality shopping experience.
