Happy Nails and Spa

I’ve been coming to Happy Nails for over a year now and I have been less and less happy with my experiences here. I had overlooked the overall poor customer service and high prices because they always do a pretty nice job but I am becoming more and more unsatisfied with my experiences here. There are a few ladies here who are really nice, but they are outweighed by the women who are just plain rude and have zero customer service skills.
First of all, no matter how long busy it is, I always have to wait at least 10 minutes for someone to come over to me. I don’t mind waiting typically, but every time I am sitting there waiting I always see at least 3 employees just sitting around talking to eachother and texting on their phones. It is so unprofessional and rubs me the wrong way. If I am sitting there waiting that should be because all the employees are busy helping other customers.
Another thing that bothered me: I got my nails painted with just regular nail polish instead of gel and asked if I could have my nails be put under a dryer or by a fan. They said they don’t have that… really? What nail salon doesn’t have a fan to put your nails in front of when they are drying? Super weird. So I had to sit in the front and blow on my nails for a few minutes before I got in my car.
The most recent time I came here, I asked the lady to take my acrylics off and just paint the gel polish on my nails because it had been a while of wearing acrylic nails and I wanted to give my nails a break. Apparently this was a huge deal. She had to consult 3 other women who worked there about it. It was so frustrating. How hard is it to take acrylic nails off? I could do it myself but they have the supplies to do so, so why the big deal? I felt bad, because they lady who couldn’t seem to understand why I wanted the acrylics off, is super nice, but it was just annoying. She didn’t take my acrylics off completely because she said my nails were too soft. I didn’t want to go back and forth over it anymore so I just let it go.
The only reason I am leaving 2 stars and not 1 is because they do a good job usually on the nails and secondly because it is very clean. But I am tired of paying high prices and receiving poor customer service. Like I said before, some of the ladies here are really nice but the odds are you are going to get one who is not very friendly.

I’m really surprised to see an average of two and a half stars. I’ve been to a lot of nail places and while this isn’t my absolute favorite, it was perfect for a spontaneous girl day with my mom.
We were able to walk in on a Saturday afternoon and be seen right away, which was a pleasant surprise. I thought for sure there’d be a wait.
All three of the girls that did my services were very nice. I think I have incredibly sensitive cuticles because there’s only one nail tech I’ve had in my entire life (I’m lucky enough to work in a salon with an incredible nail tech) that hasn’t cut too much cuticle and made me bleed, and this time was no different. At least it was only one finger. The girl that did my toes was a little aggressive with getting the skin from around my nail bed and it’s still a little sore, but again I think I’m just incredibly sensitive. I did love the massages though and my nails look great. I was nervous to get my brows done because the esthetician comes to the chair you’re already sitting in and stands to the side to wax, which seems difficult to make them even that way, but she did a great job. Quick and as painless as possible.
I’m surprised to see people complain about prices in their reviews. $ 35 for a basic mani/​pedi and $ 10 for brows seems incredibly reasonable to me. Overall I am happy with how my nails look, I’m happy with the price, and I’m happy with the experience.

Went last week for nails, I asked for a acrylic full set but they gave me gel anyway, maybe my fault, but I sat with my eyes closed and had no idea until she was on her 3^rd one. I swear she did it just to jack up the price to $ 40. I don’t get my nails done often, it was for an event so I wanted a chain, I figured they would be cleaner since I didn’t have time to check places out, It was clean, that is the only reason I give 2 stars. They didn’t do it close enough to my nail bed, so even at 1 week it looks like I need a fill already, when I used to get my nails done all the time I could easily go 2.5 weeks between fills, not this time. I’ll never go back, but that’s what I get for going somewhere in a pinch without looking up reviews.

Horrible Horrible just a Horrible place. Nice and clean but very expensive and the lady didn’t the worst job ever. I’m a guy and I went in for a pedicure with my girlfriend so we can play footsies and I really just wanted the callus to be removed. $ 25 later and I still have a huge callus and uneven toenails, rugged edges, and my feet are still dry.
It would have been nice if she smiled for once as well

Thinnest, flimsiest acrylics ever. 2 nails PAINFULLY broke off THE NEXT DAY. So disappointed heard great things from family so unsure if it was just this particular location but crappy service and crappy nails. Will not return. Total waste of money, time, not to mention rest of my nails looked like crap for days until I tore them off! Ughhhh whyyyy sad sad experience! Wish I could put negative stars

I happened to be in the area and needed a gel manicure so I decided to come here despite their many negative reviews.
Just like any other Happy nails this place has the basic set up with a huge amount of employees. Jasmine was my girl and I actually love her work. She was very thorough and didn’t rush at all while at the time the salon was pretty busy. I loved how she engaged me into our little chit chat and giggle. Turned out to be a good experiment. Thank you Jasmine you are now my go-​to-​nail girl.

I had an appointment at 10 o’clock but I arrived at 9:52 and was immediately seated. I requested Wendy because of another Unilocal review and she was with another client when I arrived so I had to wait.
I wanted a basic set acrylics and another woman told me to go pick out a color. She kept pushing gels (and at the end I did go with that but she was extremely overselling).
I was helped by 10:15 and specifically told her I found her from a Unilocal review. I used a reference photo from that review and explained that I wanted short squared nails that kind of tapered a little bit at the end. I also explained I have weak nails and asked her not to over-​file.
From what I was told the basic set was $ 25 and from the price guide it showed that gel would add an extra $ 5. I asked her the price but was a little confused because she kept telling me different prices due to length. I just stuck with what I wanted anyways and let the dealt with the price later.
After that everything was perfect and Wendy did a fabulous job. She was a perfectionist and did everything to make me happy. When I found out that the color I had chosen was actually sheer, she automatically pulled out another shade that was similar but opaque (which was what I was looking for). I was adamant about the length of my nails and wanted them to be short and natural looking — she constantly checked with me to make sure I was pleased and actually advised me to speak up if I was unhappy with the results (which I appreciated).
My nails came out exactly how I wanted them, and if I’m in the market for acrylics again I might return but only for Wendy.
*** I am editing this review because I wanted to give the price (but needed to check my receipt). When talking with her I was repeatedly told it would only be $ 30 but she went back and forth from saying gel would be $ 15 more. I went to the register assuming $ 30 but was charged $ 40 for a gel acrylic manicure. I don’t get my nails done very often so it wasn’t a big deal but this was a little steeper in price than I originally thought. I didn’t say anything because I was in a rush, but now kind of regret it. I am still thrilled with my results but this is something to keep in mind.

I was really disappointed. I have been to many happy nails and this was not the worst. It’s close to work but now I know I will not cheat on my regular salon. My gel manicure started chipping in 2 days. My other place took weeks. Cheap polish. Expensive as heck. 71 dollars for mani pedi??? No way am I going back.

The only good thing about this place is Joy, a manicurist. She does an amazing job with any type of manicure that you’re wanting, whether it’s gel or acrylic. She is so nice, and speaks perfect English.
The times I’ve gotten a pedicure, they’ve most of the time always cut me or poke me with their tools. NOT what you want from a chain salon.
And, don’t ever make an appointment over the phone, always do it in person if you can. I’ve been seeing Joy for almost 3 years, and it’s rare when they DO get my appointment time & date correct. I only make my appointments now through Joy. Sometimes, I truly believe that they mess each other’s appointments up out of spite, it’s awful.

I have never had a bad experience here. Each and every time I come out satisfied as can be!!! Wendy usually does my nails, she’s GREAT with acrylics and gel! Just to let you guys know it is PRICY. I go because my nails always look great after and lasts me for weeks.
If you are trying to get your brows on ‘FLEEK’ ask for April! I highly recommend her and Wendy.

This is by far my favorite nail spa. I’ve been getting my nails done here for over ten years. Everyone is great. Joy is my favorite. Awesome pedicures are wonderful too.

I haven’t ever been disappointed. Pedicures are fantastic & relaxing! Gel manicures have always been great (no bubbles). Really friendly ladies who are very welcoming.
As long as I live in the area, this will be my go to place.
Prices are decent & you definitely do not need an appointment which adds a star for sure.

I am very surprised at the low rating for this salon. I’ve been there twice and each time was great. They use sanitized tools and do a great job. The girl who waxed my brows was super fast and great as well. For sure going back.

Great job on mani/​pedis and waxing but man I wish they spoke English more. The few regualr girls I use know NOT to speak in any other language in front of me.

After 65 years I decided to get a pedicure. My sister recommended Happy Nails. So, I though ‘what the heck, I’ll give it a try’ The lady was nice. Her english wasn’t that good, but she knew her job. I can tell other at the salon spoke better english, but I doubt if an of them knew about football or baseball. lol. After seeing my feet, I thought they might pull out tin snips and a belt sander, but her tools were good enough. It was really a nice experience. The foot jacuzzi and massage was real relaxing. My toenails haven’t looked this good in years.

Nails are crooked. Got yelled at by the manicurist. Her name is Angela. I simply asked for for my nails to be cut down. She freaked out and said. «Wait! I haven’t shaped or filed it yet!» Wth… They’re my nails, I’m paying you for the service! It was completely awkward after that. Anyway. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Happy Nails Salon should rename they’re place to, Menopause Nails Salon.

Wish I could give this place zero stars.
The minute I got there I was hit with an explosion of yelling in Vietnamese from all the employees. I can’t remember the last time I was somewhere so loud before, definitely not relaxing. All I wanted was for them to remove the gell nails and even after paying $ 15.00 just to remove the gell, it was still on my nails and when I got home I had to take it off myself. While leaving, the lady at the front desk was having trouble with my card because the back strip was rubbing off so she threw my card at me telling me to «give her money». Another employee suggested to type the card number in and ripped the card out of my hands, seconds later the front desk lady ripped the card out of the employees hands. They went back and forth ripping it out of each others hands about five or six times until the front desk lady hit the eemployee and yelled «shhhhhhhhh» while she smacked her.
It was a horrible experience. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a nail salon and have never experienced such poor costumer service.
I wouldn’t go back there if some one paid me

I was very hesitant on coming here based on the reviews of the salon but it’s right across the street from where I work so I decided to give it a shot due to location convenience.
I was promptly greeted at the door and quickly seen by my nail tech Caroline (Carol). She was very sweet and did a great job on my nails. I had acrylics on my nails for over 10 yrs and my nails are very thin and damaged. She did a wonderful job in making me feel comfortable and confident that she will make them beautiful and prevent future damage.
I did a gel manicure which cost $ 30 total w/​o my tip. She took her time and didn’t rush when removing my old gel off my nails. I appreciate that she didn’t just peel them off but soak them off and tried to be more conservative with her work. She also told me she put a base on my nails this time under my gel so that they wouldn’t further damage my nails when I had to come back and remove the gel. The techs here are independent contractors so they all have their own equipment, colors, light etc. She had a good selection of colors to choose from for my manicure and also had an OPI light which didn’t expose UV lighting to my entire hand but just on my nails (for those of you that are scared of the consequences the light may have on your skin).
I’m not sure how the other nail techs are here but I enjoyed my first visit with Carol. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. I am pretty picky when it comes to getting my nails done and easily irritated when they cut me or file my nails crooked. She did a great job at a great price. I’m happy to have found her so conveniently close to my work.

2.5 stars really. As far as their mani-​pedis go, they do an o.k. job. They go with the two person approach. One lady working on your feet, while one gives you a manicure. They seem to have a really bad staff management problem there, as the last two times I have been there, I witnessed drama in the form of pissed off clients who had made appointments with certain nail techs, and they were both working on guess who? That would be me. Soooo both visits, in the middle of my service, I have the musical chairs with nail tech show.
The reason that I continue to go here is because it is clean. It is NOT inexpensive. A mani-​pedi will run you about $ 47.00, eyebrows $ 15.00, lip $ 10.00. So, an average afternoon of beautification will cost you about $ 80.00 including tips.

I wish I could rate this place ZERO STARS.
They don’t pay attention at all here. In the middle of my pedicure, the lady cut through the skin of my toe with a pair of scissors! It HURT so BADLY and started bleeding. AhhHhhhHhHhh! Not only that, when I arrived home I noticed that some of my toes were so sore. I’m sorry if I’ve been missing something but are toes supposed to be sore after a pedicure spa treatment?
Bottom line: They are on auto mode here and to them, their aim is to finish customers as quickly as possible so that they can make the most money. Completely selfish and unprofessional. Never in my entire life have I experienced such a horrible nail salon that I am literally calling the health department tomorrow. Ugh!
