History

Established in 1989.

The Seaside Gallery first opened at 1105 Second in the Old Seabrook District in 1989. In 1999, Ruth Burke the owner re-​located the business to 204 Kirby, located 1 block off NASA Parkway in Taylor Lake Village, Texas. She moved the gallery from the waterfront location in Seabrook to higher ground in the neighboring township of Taylor Lake Village. The gallery has prospered well in this location with easy access from major developments in the NASA JSC Clear Lake area.

Artist Ruth Burke has been preserving the history of the Clear Lake Area with her photographs since 1978. The energy of the expanding horizons in space contrasted with quaint fishing villages and natural coastal environments teaming with magnificent shore birds captured her eye.

Custom picture framing is a primary service that the Seaside Gallery has offered from the very beginning. They perform all of the work at the store location. Ruth or her professional framer assistants always help the customers make the right and best selections to protect and display their items brought in for framing. Ruth’s policy is that the customer should be assisted by an experienced picture framer assuring that the piece is framed correctly from design to fitting. This policy has proven successful for the Seaside Gallery. They enjoy making the custom framing experience enjoyable and rewarding for all involved.
