They are very friendly and helpful. I found the selection to be good and the prices were comparable with mail order. I will be a regular at this shop.

First of all this place is WAY overpriced. Their 1 oz Chinook pellets were $ 4.98(or atleast that’s what they were marked). Secondly the staff, or atleast some of the staff, knows NOTHING about brewing. My first trip in there was to get some Light DME for a yeast starter since I had forgot to pick it up at Defalcos when I bought my grain. The guy behind the counter had NOIDEA what DME was and had to ask if they carried it. My second trip was because I was in a rush, so I went because of convenience, but I won’t go again. I brew all grain, and was kinda grossed out when I went in and a dog was walking around the store. Not sure if its legal or not, but its pretty nasty if you ask me. I bought grain from there anyway… big mistake! The grain was so poorly milled that I was only able to get about 63% efficiency when I average in the upper 80% range. I can’t wait until the Clear Lake Defalcos opens. Don’t think Brewers Guild will make it long after that happens though. I am all about supporting small business, so I hope that one day they’ll get their feces co-located so I can go back, but I doubt it.

I’ve only been in here a few times, and the people were always helpful and polite. I’ve picked up a few supplies here but the place seems to be a bit more geared toward your«veteran» home brewer(ie: knows exactly what he/she needs). Saturdays at 2pm they have a free brew demo, which is very cool because you get a chance to check out how it’s done if you are a complete newbie, and yes they have homebrew on tap that you can drink while watching the demo. I’ve had to halt my homebrewing for the time being but I want to give this place another shot since they’re so close to me, the drive to Defalco’s or Texas Homebrewers or Brew it Yourself is very far for me so I want this place to do well. They have the pre-packaged brew ingredient kits too, and I’ll most likely be picking up one of those when I do go back. I just hope they have what I’m looking for in stock, sometimes it appears many things are missing from the shelves. I think one or more homebrew clubs meet here on a regular basis and I’d like to check that out sometime too because I don’t really know anyone local who homebrews, and it would be nice to have someone to answer questions or just«talk shop» with. Either way, definitely check this place out if you’re in the area before making the long traffic-riddled drive to Defalcos or one of the other Houston-area homebrew shops.

Staff is friendly, and knowledgeable on how to make beer. I just started my first batch, and they were able to help me with the items that I need. Again, I am new to this, but they have beer you can try there. However, it seems like they do not have some certain items in stock, I do not know if they have place the order yet, but I am on a waiting list. I just hope I do not have to travel to Defalco’s due to the distance. Overall I give this place 4 stars, so far, but may be changed later Update 8÷6÷2013: I really want to give this place a great review, but this place appears to never have anything in stock compared to Defalco’s. Maybe because business is slower here. The staff is okay. Example: Went there to get some grains for my first AG, and kinda felt rushed. Maybe it was because it was about 45 minutes to closing time. Another issue I have is the cat the roams freely in the store, and I am not an animal hater, but I am allergic to pet dander, which also plays a factor on the cleanliness of the store. I am not going to rant on, but compared to Defalco’s, I am willing to drive the additional miles because of the staff’s experience, the myriad of items in stock, and no pets and cleanliness. Hopefully I will change this review in the future when management gets things in order.
