The VaudeVille Inn

Let me start by saying that I want to rate this a 5 but I also want to rate it a 2… this is a tough one. First the positives, our food was overall outstanding, the chef (possibly the owner) really seems to care about the dishes that he puts out. We started with the Strawberry Avocado Salsa with chips which in all honesty sounded strange enough to try and with ½ price appetizers on Tuesday was hard not too… this dish was among the best flavor I have ever eaten, no joke! I would call it more of a dessert though but it is a must try. The mozzarella sticks were of the standard frozen variety and the sauce was nothing special. Our kids got the chicken fingers and fries which was good and a portion size fit for 2 adults, fries were done well and the chicken seemed to have a homemade breading which was tasty. It happened to also be wing night so I got 5 of 3 different flavors but was disappointed to hear they were out of the pineapple bacon sauce. I ended with Maple Bourbon which was good but a bit spicy for me, Great Gatsby which was enjoyable and a Caesar Garlic which was very good. Wings were cooked to an awesome consistency and were nice and meaty. The wife got boneless bites which had the homemade breading and were tasty as well.
Now for the negatives though… overall the place strikes me as dirty… from the unkempt gardens/​shrubs in the front to the tarp wrapped car in the rear parking lot… rear entrance was poorly lit and not clearly marked. The inside resembles the 20’s because that may have been the last time it was redone which is both good and bad. At least dust the place, this was a bit of a turn off. My biggest issued lied with the bathroom which had a very heavy urine smell… not cool. The space heaters in the bar and dining area were a bit tacky too…
Service was neither bad nor great but disappointingly until the end of our meal we were the only ones in there.
In summation we ‘will visit again’ for the food but… I think they can do alot more to get the people in… cleaning/​painting would go a long way/

I really enjoy this place. They have great drinks, a fun staff, and the potential for a great atmosphere. I just dont think the owner knows how to get people in there. The hedges nees to be trimmed so people can actually find the place and not define it as the old villa Maria. Ive been there a few times now and theres hardly ever people there, which is depressing because its such a cool place. I hope it turns around and lives up to its potential

Great food, great prices, great staff ! All around awesome atmosphere to be around. And they always have something going on !
