Always had a positive experience up until this past weekend. I went to Casa Bella with three other family members and had something very strange happen. One of my relatives ordered linguini and red clam sauce and when our meals came out he received linguini and white clam sauce. We brought this to the attention of the waiter and the waiter said«I record all of my orders, let me go and check my recording, I’ll be right back.» He came back and said«I checked my recording and you said white, so the meal is what you ordered.» Now the three other people at the table know he said red because he had his meal picked out before the rest of the table and specifically told us what he was getting, and when he placed the order we all heard him say red. For the waiter to say he recorded it is just complete bs if you ask me. Needless to say we didn’t make a scene or complain because everyone liked there meals, but Sammy and his staff need to start admitting when they are wrong if he wants people to start coming back. It’s insulting to be told by a waiter that the order was recorded, to say the customer is wrong because he listened to a recording of the order(and not play it back in front of the customer), and not do anything to compensate for the mistake. The restaurant made a meal that costs $ 4.50 to make but has a menu price of $ 18, would it have killed them to just make another meal to satisfy the customer?

Restaurant is dark & dingy & owners are unpleasant. Being from Cosavo, possibly a cultural difference but they’re impossibly rude. Will never go again & that was the concensus of the 10 people at our table! A simple meal of pasta & meatballs was inedible. Any negative comment at this restaurant will have you wishing you never said a word. One of the owners actually yelled at one of our guests for asking if shrimp could be added to his salad. As the title says, never again. Our bill was close to $ 700.

What makes a good restaurant? Consistency in food quality and service. This is Casa Bella. YOu know you will always get good service and the food will always be good. We recommend it quite often since we know you really can’t go wrong. Sammy makes you feel welcome from the minute he sees you. The only thing I would improve is some variation in the specials and an improved wine selection. Other than that, we love Casa Bella and go there frequently.

The food is ok, depending on what you order. The red sauce tastes like it’s from a jar. Portions are generous and service is not consistent

Always a fantastic meal. The staff is so accommodating. The food is fantastic. Tonight was the brazed short ribs which was a great change from the phenomenal tilapia and shrimp in a champagne sauce. Casa Bella never disappoints.

Our favorite!!! We are treated very well and Sammy always accommodates us! Friendly wait staff… never a turnover in employees. Sammy always makes sure to have enough staff… never a dirty table! Everyone seems to like their job! The food is luscious!

Excellent food. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They have Lobster Ravioli that is spectacular. I would highly recommend dining here if you are in or visiting Scranto Pa.

I wouldn’t go back after the staff treated me the way they did. Not worth it. I didn’t even know who our waiter/waitress was because every time someone came to the table they were different! I was actually talked at because they told me they were going to upgrade my salad for free because I ordered an expensive dinner then they go and charge me, after I complained I got yelled at.

Excellent Italian food. This place really impressed me. Meals are a little pricey, but you get nice big portions. Its worth the money. I can eat a lot, and I couldn’t finish my portion. I feel the portions are bigger on regular evenings opposed to special events(Valentines, Mothers Day, etc.). The service is excellent, amusing servers, and the host(manager?) is a great guy, very warm and welcoming. They always refill your water as well. Amazing dessert selection too. Great place though, great service, and ill continue coming back.

Great place! Good food, great service. The ambiance is a bit outdated(no windows, for example) but the meal made up for it. Will definitely be back.

Excellent service with a super friendly staff and owner. Very inviting and courteous. The food was absolutely amazing and the portions are a good size. I would consider this a finer dining restaurant Than most and the prices are reasonable. Try the linguine casa, it was delicious.

A family owned and run restaurant that gives a nice attention to detail throughout your meal. The entrées are reasonably priced from $ 15-$ 22 and the food is good. The menu is not overwhelming, but there is a nice assortment of pasta, chicken and veal. On weekends it’s usually very crowded and you kind of feel shoe horned, but it’s not bad. I’ve been there multiple times and haven’t had a bad experience yet.

As of August 2014, this place is the best Italian restaurant in Scranton. I was so sick of the bland red sauces around town and casa Bella finally put an end to that. The food is fantastic, while not a huge fan of the restaurants seating layout I think the food is worth so much more. Fantastic pastas, great bread, great wine selection, and a solid list of specials. Give it a shot you shouldn’t be disappointed.

Like some others, we visited here as a result of the positive reviews. We had never been to this particular area before and accidentally drove past it once … not believing that these reviews were the result of this dingy building. We had to take an alley to access the parking lot(in the back of the building). The front of the parking lot was chained off(again, CHAINED). We were hesitant since it appears that one is entering a residential home. After we were through the first set of doors, the second set led into the actual establishment. It needs to be said, the windows are literally BOARDED up which results in a DARK, creepy atmosphere. It was literally the late afternoon and there were candles on the tables. It was NOT romantic, is was something out of a horror film. There is a freezer in the entryway to the dining room, air-fresheners in the corner, and just a general bizarreness that cannot not be accounted for. We were stuck at the smallest table in the corner … the advantage of this was that it allowed us to take-in the surreal nature of the environment. The food was positively average(and a little difficult to see). I literally could not wait to get out of there.(I was anticipating zombies to begin clawing at the boarded up windows … like something out of 28 Weeks Later). Locals seem to like it … but it’s important to know that there are not many other options in the general vicinity. If you are passing through, I would actually recommend that you give your money to the Olive Garden just up the highway in Dickson City(and I LOATHE Olive Garden) … at Olive Garden, you will be able to park in a safe area and see actual sunlight.

Wow! This place stands on its own on this areas! Been in town for 6 months, and this place would be successful any where. I have never been to a restaurant where by the end of an evening you do ot know who your waiter is. Each of the many high energy and pleasant staff members would check on you as they went by. Not so much to be annoying, but they make a point to notice things. One waiter took our order, another took our drink order, another brought our food, yet another took our dessert order, while a different one brought us our check. They work great together in unison, and you will be given GREAT service while you are there. The food was quality and appropriately priced, but it is the atmosphere that will have me returning!
