Not impressed with the bar service. Pay cash because they tried giving out credit card to someone else and then set it on the counter. And we had to go looking for it. Take your business elsewhere. They don’t hire experience they hire girls who don’t know what the are doing and have never had a job.

After multiple attempts to contact the management of this establishment and not receiving a return call, I am left with no other choice but to use this avenue to contact them.
I would like to file a formal complaint of sexual harassment on behalf of my fiancé against the pool manager of this hotel who I believe is named Paul but am not 100% sure at this time. What started out as a fun day with friends at the pool, turned into a nightmare for her. What was meant to be an enjoyable day quickly turned into one filled with attempted rape, misogyny, and racism.
This hotel and the company they hire to manage their pool is promoting an environment of date-​rape culture with an essence of extreme misogamy which is very apparent in your pool manager’s attempts to rape my fiancé while she tried to enjoy a day at the pool with her friends. He was filling her full of free drinks and after she was good and intoxicated, he cornered her alone and asked her, and I quote, «are you married?»
She replied «yes, I’m engaged» and his response was «well he is not here, is he?» Then he said, «come up to presidential suite with me and let’s fuck, we can be quick» and she replied, «no, fuck you, I told you I’m engaged» and he then told her she needed to leave then so she said «fuck you» again and inadvertently knocked over his table as he was was blocking her way. At this point she went back the pool and tried to just let it go. Well, the spurned pool manager Paul (?) decided he was not going to let it go and asked that security escort her out and then proceeded to call the police in order to make her pay for the bottle that fell when his table fell over.
When the security came and got physical with her, things quickly escalated from there. My fiancé is a young African American and while she was getting beat by your security staff, I couldn’t help but sense a hint of racism from your all white staff who tried to tie her up and restrain her like she was some sort of animal all because she refused to be date-​raped by your employee. Furthermore, It was your own pool manager, Paul (?) who was pumping her full of free drinks at his «VIP table» in the first place in order to try and force her up into his «presidential suite» that your company has provided to him, per a direct statement from him.
To the management of this company, please contact me to discuss this further as I demand this man be relieved of his duties at your hotel. In the meantime, I will continue to explore all legal options.

Bad service, front desk very rude!!!
They kept us waiting for a room for 1:30 minutes without offering at least a glass of water! Really bad will never stay here again

I came to the pool here on Wednesday with my friend and enjoyed myself! For lunch we shared the soft pretzels and buffalo boneless tenders, I was impressed both of these were beyond delicious! I love the vibe and music at the pool. They have drinking water out at the pool for everyone which I think was a perfect idea (since it’s so hot in AZ) The bartender was really nice! The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because of how pricey their drinks are, the drinks at the pool are $ 15. I still plan to come here many more times in the future! And next time I’m there I plan to try out roku sushi!

Great location to have a few cocktails. I enjoy stopping pass here to pre game with friends before going to the clubs in Old Town which are walking distance.

We love the W. Its a great place to stay and play. Cant wait to go back and enjoy the pool party again!

Stay away! Worst couple of nights sleep I’ve had at a hotel in a very long time.
Arrived on a Monday for work and already had trouble checking in, past my check in time.
The rooms are anything BUT zen and make absolute zero sense. The bed is places in the center of the room, 4 feet from the toilet and sink.
And when did the W stop providing comfortable linens and pillows. The sheets were not only disestablished, which had to be replaced but also very scratchy and rough.
The pillows collapse into pancakes and have zero stability.
Finally, the worse part of all. Once you do fall asleep, you’ll soon be awaken by teens or drunken adults that run the halls and knock on random doors only to wake the entire floor!
The food, which was actually not as bad as most hotel food, was the best part.
The staff was also very friendly. But I can say in confidence I will never choose to stay at this hotel again.

Complete BS drink prices!!! Went Saturday, April 30^th 2016 and ordering a whiskey/​coke and vodka tonic, the girl bartender charges $ 36!!! Not even in New York do they charge such CRAP!!! Greedy a$$holes!!!
Avoid buying drinks here and sneak a flask in. I’ve consulted restaurants for years and have never seen price points that high for generic liquor. Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Absolutely love this place!!! Great fast food room service. Everyone who works here is super cool. I brought my 2 chihuahuas and everyone is so friendly to them. The pool on Sunday’s is amazing perfectly relaxing with great music! I could live here and not leave ever with the pool, gym, sushi. W hotels are the way to go!

Good: The hotel is in an awesome location. The décor is modern and hip. The room was very clean and well maintained. The bellmen and valets were all very attentive and professional
Bad: Our room was located near the elevators and the drunks could be heard making their way to their rooms until 3am. Our room was also located on the same side as a club across the street. I asked to have the room moved the following day and informed that the hotel was at capacity. No attempt was made to accommodate our request (it was too late in the day). I was told that I should have signed a form at check in acknowledging the noise level of the hotel (I wasn’t). I’m cool with it being a «party hotel» or whatever you want to call it, but I was given zero option of having my room tucked away vs being on the dance floor. I was also charged for wifi on the first night of my stay (despite being a Starwood Preferred Guest), I called the desk and the error was corrected on my second day, but I was not credited for the first night.

Horrible establishment with ridiculous management. The service at this hotel is one of the worst I have ever seen. They are lucky that there is no other high class hotels in the area. The W in Scottsdale is a clear example of an establishment that has lost touch with its demographic and clientele. I look forward to never coming back to this hotel ever again. If the above is not enough, just try the food, that should be enough to steer you away from this hotel. Oh and I forgot, they made us wait 2 hours past our check out because our room was not ready. Don’t ever come here, you are better off at the Best Western or Motel 6.

The W pool and night club; WAY too high on the Scottsdale DBag/​Brosevelt meter to even consider seriously ever going again.
You know, guys making 24K a year and striving to be a MMA fighter, black rims on their Hyundai, affliction shirts w/​over-​sized white watches, über-​tatted.

If I’m going to annoyed by a crowd of this; ahem, «stature», then I’ll just go to Vegas.

One of the girls in our group was able to get us an employee rate, and we asked for an early check-​in, but they had a king size bed reserved for us. We asked to be switched to a room with two double beds, as we needed the additional sleeping space, and were told that the room would be ready for us by 3 – 4 pm. Since it was 2 pm at the time, we didn’t mind, so we changed to our swimsuits in the lobby restroom, and headed to the pool.
The pool was packed with lots of people, and was a blast. By 5:30 pm, we were beat from all the drinks and sun, and were hoping to check into our room to relax and get cleaned up for the evening. However, our room still was not ready. The front desk person said that they would put an expedite on the room. Annoyed, and tired, we went across the street for some food to kill some time. Finally, we received a phone call, and were told that our room was ready. We had left our luggage secured with the front desk, and asked them to deliver it to the room. This was quite a mistake, as it took a LONG time for it to be delivered, and we needed our toiletries that were packed in our bags.
Later on, we asked for extra blankets and towels, and each request took a while. So if you need something from the front desk, be sure to expect a good wait time. Also, the bars and clubs in the area are pretty loud with music and people, so you might want to request a room that’s on a higher floor — the noise outside didn’t bother us too much, since we went to bed late anyway.
All in all, the room is clean and well-​decorated, the beds are a lot firmer than we would have expected. And the service is mediocre. I’m glad we got a killer deal on the room, because if we had paid the full price of at least $ 400 on the room, I would have been very unhappy with the level of service we were receiving.
You definitely can’t beat the location, since everything you need is right outside the hotel. And also, they charge $ 15 if you decide to use the overnight parking.

This review is simply for the pool bar/​lounge area as I haven’t yet stayed at the resort. My Friends and I were out on a Friday looking for a place to hang out. The downtown Scottsdale party scene is a bit much for what we were looking for… then we stumbled upon the upstairs area of the W (is it called Shade?) and I fell in love! Service was great, everyone was very friendly. Love the atmosphere… décor is hip and music (dj) was great with a nice little dance floor. This is my type of place. And it wasn’t too loud. We were able to enjoy the music and still have a conversation. Can’t wait to return!

Great hotel, nice staff — complimentary upgrade to a suite because we were on our honeymoon.
Constant add-​ons in the restaurant and hotel. Truly stand-​up staff.
Good location, walking distance to restaurants and shops.
Happy with the rooms amenities! Christmas break is quiet, perfect for us. I can imagine the pool and patio can get fun and loud!

It’s important to note that W has an impressive AAA four diamond rating and is in the New Scottsdale Entertainment District.
No luxury is spared in all aspects of the facility.

I met a friend staying at the hotel for dinner.
We were able to sit in the cozy lobby and were served by the extremely friendly waitresses from the bar & were able to order from the sushi restaurant, Sushi Roku, and have it delivered to our table in the lobby.
We had the spicy tuna roll & the carpaccio yellow tail from Sushi Roku and mixed cocktails from the bar. The whole experience was outstanding.
I think it would take a long time to be able to fully enjoy all that W has to offer & I volunteer!
I ⁵⁄₅ highly recommend W Scottsdale!

Amazing hotel with great staff and vide. My suite was perfectly laid out with every amenity you could desire including a washer drier.
The bars clubs and restaurants are literally across the street so it’s easy to have a great time here with vey little effort.

I have been staying at The W Scottsdale periodically over the last five years. Sexy, trendy hotel and is right across the street from my company’s office. I love the smell and the staff is always extremely professional and well put together.
This visit I took note of what not to do when I stay there next time. I was placed on the 4^th floor on the side of the building where the bars are directly across the street. Clearly Thursday is a hot night and I woke up to loud talking, laughter and very loud music.
This has never happened before, but I will make sure I am placed on a higher floor and the opposite side of the building. Still one of my favorite hotels ever, just a tip when at that location.

**This is an update to my previous review.
The W did not disappoint. The room we had was unbelievable, and Jilly the day manager helped me make this an anniversary my wife and I are sure to remember. They completely over delivered.
My wife even commented that she «felt so important» by the way they made sure we were catered to.
If you are looking for a little more sophistication, and wanting to impress, this is for sure the place.

I have not stayed at the hotel so the review is just for the pool! This is where the beautiful people go. Very expensive but worth checking out. Pool is rooftop, bar is covered. The valet guys get a great view of what is going on up above in the pool through the «skylights.» There are three in the pool and swimmers see down and valets see up! Great views? Great pool menu and great drinks but definitely plan to drop some cash. Cover charge to use the pool on the weekends if you are not a hotel guest, but I gotta say, do it at least once. This definitely makes my «cool» Scottsdale pool list!
