Tom was a USAF Police Dog Handler who started Canine Behavior Consultants in 1982 in Barrington, Il and 1992 in Scottsdale, Az. Tom is a court approved expert in Dog Behavior in Scottsdale, Phoenix and Maricopa County court systems. Toms brings many years of experience to The Happy Dog Inn.

We take our two dogs to The Happy Dog Inn and they love it! They get to run and play and have the time of their lives while we are on holiday. It is a luxurious place for pets.
Tom and Nicky look after them as if they were their own dogs. We would not contemplate taking them anywhere else as we trust their care so completely at the Happy Dog Inn.

Moved to AZ 11 years ago with dog in tow. As any dog owner/​lover knows, leaving your pet with someone else can be stressful. After our first bad experience with another «well known» pet resort, we were lucky to find Tom and his Happy Dog Inn. For the past 11 years, leaving town without the dogs is a stress free event. Wonderful place. Thanks Tom and Niki.

As a dog owner I have always stressed out about leaving my dog at a boarding facility. I literally looked at dozens of boarding facilities in the valley and none were up to my standards. Most were converted homes to accommodate pets. By chance I found the Happy Dog Inn and this place is the greatest. First, this facility was built specifically for dogs, not an afterthought like most of these so-​called dog places that seem to be popping up everywhere. Happy Dog is staffed 24/​7, the dogs are never left unattended. They are supervised even during play times. The have several outdoor play areas with grass and shade. My dog loves it here. This is her second home. I started bring my dog here 4 years ago when she was just a 6 month old puppy. I brought her initially just for the play groups to get her socialized. I have been coming here 5 – 6 days a week now for the past 4 years, in addition to boarding her when my wife and I go on vacations. I know that my dog is safe and well cared for here. I would never consider taking her anywhere else.
The person who wrote the 1-​star review obviously thinks they are someone special and expects special treatment. The Happy Dog Inn is very structured and organized in its operations, the rules and policy’s are clearly stated on their website. If you don’t agree to their policies, then go somewhere else. To even mention the Gilbert tragedy in your review is absolutely ridiculous
The Happy Dog Inn is the standard and benchmark of what a perfect dog boarding facility should be!
