Sonoran Sky Elementary School

Mr. Dawson is a great principal. The front office staff is friendly, helpful, very nurturing and actually know our kids which is very nice. My boys in the first grade have great teachers, although I wish they communicated a little more. This is our first year there and maybe we just need to get used to their processes. Highly recommended!

After looking at dozens of private, public and charter schools, I was extremely impressed with Sonoran Sky and our family open enrolled. I believe they look at each child as an individual and work with that child and their parents to both nurture and challenge them. Some of the positives: experienced teachers; motivated students; flex-​grouping; honors pull-​out; a full-​time nurse; a full-​time VP who is a STEM advocate; a principal that knows what is going on and has an open door policy; a culture where it is «cool» to be smart; a PTO that is focused on supporting the students and school; PTO programs that are exceptional; special teachers that ROCK!; enrichment classes that include just about everything from gardening, cooking, CSI sleuthing, readers’ theater, to ceramics and sports; a commitment to technology in each classroom; finally, the best students and kids ever! There is not a single child at this school that I wouldn’t love to have over to my house. The 5^th and 6^th graders are exceptional role models. They are awesome kids.
