Recently moved to Arizona and new to the area. Had my mammogram and ultrasound done here. Very professional and efficient. I have lived across this great country and want to give a shout out to these folks for making my experience a very good one. A friend referred me and I am new to Unilocal,so I Unilocaled them and was unsure of what I would get. But seems like most folks are not seeing the value in excellent health care in their own neighborhood… try traveling around the country and then maybe, you will see the benefits.
I would not hesitate to have anything done at these imaging centers. ps… i think I am going to like Unilocal

I have gone to this location in years previous and have had no problems with wait time or payment. This time was completely different. Even though i had an appointment (and I got there a half hour early to do paperwork) I still waited an hour after my appointment for my procedure. The woman doing it was very nice but extremely overbooked. Also, it was a big shock that they require you to pay your insurance deductible and co-​pay in full instead of billing your insurance company. I was never informed of this when making my appointment, because I would have definitely gone somewhere else.

Terrible customer service at this location! Checked in 20 minutes before appointment, completed paperwork, then when I walked to desk to submit, they told me they need to reschedule me. They just looked at my paperwork FIVE minutes prior and said they needed my doctor to be present. WTF? Are you kidding me? They couldn’t have told me that the day or two prior so I wouldn’t waste my time??? Last time I go here.

I wish I had read the other reviews before going to SimonMed as I would have stayed away; seems lots of us have had the same bad experience. Scheduling my MRI was horrific as the guy kept calling and leaving a message but when I called back, I got voice mail with no option to speak with someone in scheduling. He would call at 3:20, leave a message and then when I called back at 3:35, I received a message he was gone for the day. I scheduled an appointment for last Friday, which was confirmed by them on Thursday evening. I took the day off work for my scan and showed up as instructed. I was given two forms to fill out and told to pay my portion of the charge. I explained to the girl that I had a high deductible plan and did not pay at time of service, and she said they collect all fees up front. I told her I had been there earlier this year and didn’t pay, and she mentioned their financial policies had changed, even though the scheduler and confirmer didn’t share this and I was not given a financial policy to read or sign when I came in.
I told her that it takes too long to get a refund so I would settle up after my insurance paid the claim. She had to call some insurance person to discuss and they were trying to gain access to my HSA account to ensure I had the funds, which is irrelevant since I pay many claims with credit cards for points and reimburse myself after the fact. When all was said and done, they told me that I didn’t have a balance in my HSA, which of course I do, and that I would not be treated without full payment. This entire conversation was happening in the lobby, with other patients waiting, and a nurse in the background who was agreeing with everything I said. The receptionist had no idea what she was doing and was blaming others for the information, or lack thereof, that I received. Still no financial policy was ever provided to me and ironically, no HIPAA paperwork was provided either.
I called my insurance company when I got home and was told that I was not to pay at time of service, which is clearly stated on the back of my insurance card, and what they were charging was excessive based on the contracted rate with my insurance company. I have since booked an appointment with another imaging facility and have informed my doctor to stop referrals to this facility.
I won’t go into my health history here, but let’s just say, I see many doctors on a regular basis and this by far was one of the most unprofessional and ill informed offices I’ve ever been to. The receptionist was unable to assist me in any way and the insurance/​billing person really wasn’t much better.

SimonMed Imaging owes me $ 230.00. While they do not dispute this fact they insist I was refunded yet I never received the refund. What I requested was that we find out where the money did go so we can figure out how I can get my money back. SimonMed has not investigated this even though they have told me several times that they have opened an investigation. I’ve gotten nothing but the run around and they will no longer return my phone calls. It’s very upsetting as I’ve used SimonMed for all of my MRI’s in the past but in the future I will never retain services from this company.

This outfit works for making money for their shareholders/​owners, as it’s pretty clear that IS what SIMONMED is all about. Please, at least throw the customer a bone, huh?!! Try to make a simple effort to suggest that you care. This IS a money-​making outfit. I NEVER received a bill or a statement from SIMONMED. I envision the owners in Fiji or in Europe living the good life while billing folks like us for the money they need to pay their restaurant bills. I WILL look for a replacement in the future for all my imaging needs.

No way to run a business. I called at 8:30 am on Monday, 10÷26÷15. When the phone picked up music immediately started playing (no voice recording). I held for a couple minutes, but, no one picked up. I called back several more times, same thing, music.
A recording that announced the name of the business, and included the hours of operation would be most helpful. I tried the «contact us» button at the top of the web page. No link to email them directly found.
I am hoping this is not a reflection of their services.

Wonderful experience! I had a mammogram yesterday and was very pleased with how well-​run the office was!
Virtually no wait. Super-​nice staff. The technician Maggie was incredible. She made the whole experience pleasant as could be. The 3D technology is the best.

Confused, poorly administered office in Scottsdale where you wait… and wait… and wait. Appointments are meaningless.

This place, specifically the front desk people that work there are TERRIBLE. I have never in my life had such a bad experience as with SimonMed. The place should be shut down. After waiting 1 ½ hours in a small waiting room I went to inquire what was going on. There were 14 other people also waiting. I was informed that it would take another ½ hour before they could do the scan I needed. a 2 hour wait, REALLY! The front desk staff, all 4 of them were unprofessional, inconsiderate, rude, uncaring, ignorant, etc, etc, etc, etc. There are not enough words to describe the ineptness of these people. I wish I had read all the other Unilocal reviews before I booked my appointment there! They have so many horrible reviews, I now know that my experience was not a fluke, its the way they do business.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. SAVE YOURSELF THE FRUSTRATION AND WASTE OF TIME.

I would rank SimonMed (all locations because they run you though the call center) as one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had in my life. From my first phone call waiting on hold, then receiving incorrect information to waiting for 1 hour for my MRI. Then after 4 trips back I finally got my cd. All told over 4 hours of headache for one 20 minute MRI. If you have a choice go somewhere else.

So far not real pleased with this place. Last year I came in for a bone scan and mammo and when I arrived was told the person who did the bone scans didn’t even work that day! I never did get the scan rescheduled. Fast forward to this year — I arrive and am asked to fill out paperwork for the scan. When I turn in the paperwork I am told. Oh, our machine for the bone scans is down. Sorry — you will have to reschedule. So why didnt you call to let me know that before I came in? And why did you have me fill out the paperwork if you knew the machine was broken?
Like most people I have a busy work schedule and it isnt easy to get this stuff scheduled. I’m about done with the lack of organization here and the lack of respect for my time.

I have been here twice in the past month and both experiences were terrible. The office staff doesn’t seem to have the vocabulary beyond one to two word phrases. Both times I had to wait over an hour for my scheduled appointment scans. This clearly seems to be a reoccurring issue as I was sitting next to a girl in a wheelchair in the waiting room that had to drink fluid for her scan and was painfully waiting way past due her scheduled appointment time. She went up to the front office staff and expressed her discomfort and asked how much longer it would be, and all they had to offer her was «it should be shortly».
The last time I was there, they were trying to overcharge me. They knew I had met my deductible because I had paid it the previous week when I was there. The receptionist put me on the phone with their billing department to «figure it out». I literally had to walk their billing accountant through basic math of how it should add up and after 15 minutes of walking it through with her, she agreed I was correct with my math and blamed her computer for the error. If you can’t add two numbers together on your own (use your head, a pen and paper, a calculator) perhaps you’re in the wrong field.

I am very pissed off and annoyed at this company. This company called me to set up a time for an x-​ray I needed and I told the person that I am on a very limited budget so I needed to get preauthorization for the x-​ray so I know how much to budget for it. He put me on hold and contacted my insurance. When I got back on the phone he told me that it would be $ 30 and that I could go in anytime to get it done.
Today when I got to the location, I was told that it was going to be $ 82. I told them I couldn’t afford that and that is not what I was told. I eventually asked if they could discounted and I was told no. I’ve then offered to pay $ 50 for it but that was all I could afford. She went and made a call and eventually called me back up and said that they could give me a favor and split it into two payments but not discount it. I said no and after another call, she still refused to discount it for me.
Eventually I said I would pay it grudgingly and I grab my wallet out to pay cash. I was then told that they do not except US currency. They only except one form of payment which is visa. At that point I was furious and I stormed out. Newsflash, not everyone pays with visa!
I ended up spending an hour and a half on my one hour lunch, putting up with this crap for nothing. To say I am pissed off is an understatement. The only way they could make up for the crap they put me through is to give me my x-​ray for free to pay for the hassle, gas and time for two trips over there. At most I would go back for the original agreed upon price of $ 30.

Even though my imaging experience was positive, I received inaccurate results on the MRI report. The report stated that I had a 60−70% tear. I did NOT. Instead, it was found to be a 20% tear AFTER I had surgery, so it did NOT need to be repaired. Also, the MRI stated that I had a type 1 acromion. This was also inaccurate, because, after the surgery, the doctor said I had a Type 1. Thus, the MRI was wrong on two accounts. Very disappointing! I didn’t even know that MRIs could be that inaccurate.

This review is only for THIS location’s facility. I’ve been to a different location and had a totally different (and much better) experience.
I agree with several reviews so far regarding lengthy wait times and an impersonal atmosphere. I waited for over three hours to complete the MRI and wait for the images. There were fifteen people in the small but well appointed waiting area, all restless and in different stages of anger from being ignored by the over-​worked staff. This isn’t my first trip to the rodeo. In comparison with other similar procedures at different facilities, this one was pretty nasty. It feels like the people who work here hate working here.
I was walked back to the procedure area from the waiting area, still lovely and well-​designed & decorated, by someone who simply read my name from a call sheet and then ushered me wordlessly to a giant X-​ray machine. She looked comically miserable and horrified upon reading aloud what I’d turned up there to endure. I surmised correctly that this was indeed HER first day at the aforementioned rodeo as another tech came in to train her without acknowledging my presence.
My visit required some time with the on-​site MD whose demeanor was, thankfully, more personable than the techs’. He was as gentle as possible and I have no complaints whatsoever about his performance. Prior to his arrival though, well …
I’ll avoid this location in future if possible and recommend you do the same.

Receptionist nice and apologetic, however was scheduled for a 6:30p MRI but when we got here it was really a 7:00p appt with a 6:30 check-​in to fill out paperwork that literally took 5 minutes. Not respectful of your time.

I am having serious abdominal issues and, after an ultrasound at another SimonMed location, the tech told my doctor that I needed a CT scan. I told my doctor’s office to set up the appointment ASAP and I would be there. They scheduled with SimonMed at this location for 12:15.
I showed up at 12:02, and at 12:40, I asked what was the delay, and was told my appointment was at 1:15. At 1:20, someone called me up to tell me that the CT scan people didn’t even reopen after lunch until 2.
This is the sorriest excuse for customer service that I’ve ever had to deal with at a medical facility. Now I am stuck waiting a 3-​day weekend for results because they could care less about the customer as long as they get the payment from the insurance company. A total disgrace of customer interaction.

We had to switch to Simonmed from Smil because if insurance. At first I was not happy, but after several tests I am really ok with sm. They are very professional and kind! I want to thank everyone there for making me feel so comfortable and welcome. I was surprised ther were no written directions gor my kidney ultrasound
. Smil offered directions that were on a printed sheet. Luckily my mother had taken this test at smil and she gave me direction on the water intake.

Typically, I get all of my medical taken care of through the Veterans’ Administration. It’s free… and it’s free. But anybody who has served knows that when it comes to REAL medical problems, you want to be cared for by ACTUAL doctors and technicians. So, when it came time for me to get an MRI, I petitioned the VA to have a third party conduct the imaging. With their blessing, I was allowed to choose whoever I wanted to try and figure out what was going on with my shoulder.
This being my first foray into the medical imaging world, I decided to do a little Internet searching. I was unaware of the multitude of imaging options there were available these days. My particular MRI called for an arthrogram, as well. While I was searching, there were very few imaging places that actually performed arthrograms. Simonmed, which is also conveniently located in my back yard, does just about everything you can imagine… including arthrograms.
When I called to set up my appointment, I expected that I would have to wait at least a week before I could get something scheduled. Much to my surprise, they had appointments available the very next day. That sort of availability certainly makes things easier in the event that your situation is more critical than my own.
On the day of my appointment, I arrived about 20 minutes early. There were a few families waiting in the lobby, so I expected that I might end up going past my original appointment time. So, I sat down in their nice lobby to finish filling out my remaining paperwork and watch whatever movie they were playing. Shortly after I turned in the paperwork, my technician came out to invite me back to begin the procedure. He was right on time!
Now, an arthrogram, if you’re unfamiliar with the procedure, can be quite an uncomfortable experience. In my particular case, the doctor needed to place a needle in between the bones of my shoulder and pump it full of fluid to make it visible on the MRI. It wasn’t painful, but it was an EXTREMELY uncomfortable experience. Throughout the arthrogram, the doctor was very encouraging, all the while, trying to be as gentle as can be expected when she was cramming a needle in between my bones.
After the arthrogram, it was time for the MRI. Now, I’m not a small person. I’m quite tall with broad shoulders. For me, the machine was relatively constrictive. Historically, I’m not claustrophobic. But there’s something special about being confined in an MRI machine that will make you rethink your fears. To help myself calm down a little bit, I lifted my head to make sure I could see my toes. Then, I craned my neck to make sure I could see out of the top. That helped a little for me. But, the technicians could tell that I was still a little antsy. So, in between images, they were very calming and reassuring.
After my images were complete, the technicians informed me that the results would be ready in 2 – 3 business days. I originally went in on a Friday. Like clockwork, the images were ready on Wednesday. From there, the staff at Simonmed were extremely helpful in forwarding the images to my general practitioner.
If you ever need to see inside your body to figure out what’s going on, Simonmed should be on your list of places to consider. The office is extremely nice, the doctors and technicians are pleasant and efficient, and the office staff are extremely helpful. That’s great service from beginning to end… which is exactly what you hope for when it comes to your health and well-​being.
