Was very excited to be staying at a resort that I thought was of a high caliber. I arrived at one in the morning, which I had told them I would be, and got my key. I tempted to open my room but the key did not work. That was the start of the not so good weekend. I then tried to shower and could not get hot water out. Apparently it’s set to the wrong side and you have to let it run for a little while. They give you free breakfast, so the next morning when I got up, I went to the breakfast room. I found waffles, muffins, oatmeal, toast, cold cereal, yogurt, some fruit that didn’t look so great, and coffee. A gentleman asked me if I needed my card punched, and I said no I’m not going to be eating here. He asked me why and I told them all you have is carbs. He said there are hard-boiled eggs. But there were none out. I had a massage scheduled later that morning, so I went down to the spa facility. No one was there to greet me, there are no signs to indicate what you’re supposed to do when you arrive. So I wandered around looking for someone or for what to do. I found the women’s locker room and I assumed I was to put on a robe and lock my stuff up which I did and I sat in the in the lounge waiting. I had a wonderful massage that was the highlight of my stay. They do have a nice pool and a nice tennis court. The next morning, which was Sunday of memorial day weekend, I was supposed to have the body wrap that I originally wanted to book but couldn’t get the full appointment for on Saturday so I went ahead and booked on Sunday the day I was leaving. I arrive for my appointment 10 minutes early I got dressed in a robe and sat. I sat for 15 minutes after my appointment time. Then I decided it was time to go since no one said anything to me to greet me! They looked like i lost my mind when i complained and left!

We had a 2BR2BA villa that suited our family’s need very well. The rooms were large and the bathrooms great. While some of the equipment we wanted for the kitchen were not in the room, one simple phone call allowed us to get a crock pot, baking sheet, large knife, etc. Great location for a family to visit Scottsdale, Flagstaff, and other areas. We took two days and went to Flagstaff to see the Grand Canyon and that worked out well. I’d recommend this property for a family. It was a good deal for us but we used points on a time share so not sure what the cost would be otherwise.

Really nice. Accommodations are great. Spa is nice but very small and limited(think offices converted into treatment rooms). Pool is nice. We pretty much really liked everything. My only complaint, and they know it, is they could be less aggressive when knocking on the door. One doorbell ring is more than enough!

Over all, our stay at Scottsdale Camelback Resort was a great vacation. The resort is a convenient location in regards to Camelback Mountain and Scottsdale /Old Town, etc. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit and had requested we be in the back of the complex based on other reviews, which was a good call — Camelback Road can be quite busy with a lot of road noise. When we arrived, our room wasn’t ready yet. We did arrive around(11am-ish) before the check in time, which is 4pm. Due to other plans we had, we reluctantly left our bags with the front desk and had to leave. The woman we checked in with said our bags would be placed in the room once it was ready and they would try and have it available ASAP for us. We got back to the resort around 4pm, our room was ready and our bags had been delivered. First impression of our room… Eh, decent. The room was clean, however there was no security chain on the door, no ‘do not disturb’ sign available, and aside from the heat wave coming through the the black front door, I could actually see daylight through the cracks. I understand the desert sun does no favors, but maybe black isn’t the right color to be used here. From other Unilocal reviews, the bathrooms seemed updated; ours, was not. Rather old school 2″ square tiles, brass fixtures, and a pull-cord in the shower to keep the hot water running(very camp-ground like). Again, I understand this is a desert and water is a hot commodity but I would expect this at a much lesser quality motel, and not a ‘resort’. The toilet in the master bathroom also kept running, so we had to shut two doors to completely tune that annoyance out. We were never informed of maid service either, and didn’t really expect it(because of the time share experience) — until we had returned one evening to a note that Karen had attended our room that day… knowing that she was coming would have been nice. The fireplace was nice, though we didn’t use it; and the kitchen was very nice including granite countertops. Gorgeous windows so we could see Camelback from our room, and a spacious walkout patio with a sliding door from the living room and master bedroom. The large flat screen TVs were nice too, thought the channel selection was a bit lacking and confusing at the same time. The grounds… We walked the kokopeli trail several times, it’s a nice walking path around and through the the resort. There’s also a putting range, mini golf, grilling areas, and a labyrinth available. Very nice amenities. We sat at the pool most mornings too. Pool was nice and clean, but we never really jumped in. I did notice that most front row lounge chairs were reserved with beach towels.(The rules did state that reserving chairs at the pool was not allowed.) There’s a nice fireplace and seating area on the pool deck too, nice touch. We ate at The Grille once too, pretty decent quesadillas and really good onion rings! Trip Advisor lists this place a 7 out of 73 resorts. I would not give it that rating at all. A nice resort, but there are others out there that I’ve stayed at I would place much higher than this place.

Very nice casita with room for us and three friends. It was July 4th, so it was literally hot as hell outside and our unit had great a/c. Yes, this is very important. Pool area was awesome, as were all the employees we met. Unit was clean and fully stocked with all the amenities we needed to settle in for a girl’s party weekend.

The«Villas“are pretty basic and smell a little funky but meet your needs as far as having a bed, toilet, etc. You need a calendar to keep track of what days housekeeping is coming and what they are doing. They pop in each day but don’t expect them to clean each day; there’s a three day cycle of things happening. The breakfast looks reasonable upon purchase but is far better at other budget hotels. Do not buy! One positive — the grounds are kept up nicely. If you have children under 18 they are not made to feel welcome with signs and placards posted all around the property on what they can’t do. The majority of the front desk staff is unhelpful. The location is great but try to look elsewhere if you’re planning an extended stay.

Stayed here on a timeshare exchange with my mom before the holidays. We had the two bedroom. She let me use the bigger room because it would be more comfortable for me to do my work in there, plus I love using the whirlpool tub. The resort is incredibly convenient to MANY things, including the fashion mall and«old town» Scottsdale. There’s a really nice walking path with exercises, too. My favorite part of the place was the jacuzzi that stayed open until 11 every night. The pool was nice too though I didn’t use it. I was happy that this place offered WiFi(since I did have to do work there), and the furniture could not have been any more comfortable. After a not-so-great timeshare experience in another city the week before, it was a relief and a rest, and my only regret is that we had to go at the end of a week, because I would have loved to have stayed more. If I had any negative feedback at all it would be to make sure the hot water doesn’t run out too quickly in the whirlpool tubs in the units. It only gets to about ¼ full before the hot water seems to go away. :( In any event, I’d love to go back.

Dated resort that needs an uplift. Some staff were great, some not so great. I’d recommend a Holiday Inn over this place. Beds are prob 30 years old, air conditioner is crazy loud, and bathrooms are circa 1985. Pool area is not terrible, but not great either. For all the choices in the area, this place needs to step up their game! Just being honest…

Stayed at Scottsdale Camelback Resort as part of a bachelorette party. We had a three bedroom condo for our stay. Since there’s a lot to cover, I’ll break each area down by pros(+) and cons(-). Condos: + well decorated: comfortable couch, table and chairs, «upscale» western motif + kitchen is well stocked with utensils, appliances, etc; everything you’d need to cook and serve a meal is in the cupboards/drawers + fridge, oven/stove top, microwave provided for your use + loved the complimentary bath supplies they provided(better quality) + private patio with mediocre patio furniture — beds were horribly hard and uncomfortable — layout of complex hard to navigate, difficult to find your specific condo Clubhouse: + free breakfast for guests at the Grille(not a hot breakfast, but makes fresh waffles) + reasonable bloody mary price(~$ 4) +offers lots of amenities like a spa, volleyball, kids and adult events, croquet, bocce ball, a labyrinth… + beautiful pool with a large hot tub — pool closes early(10PM?), in AZ it should be 24hrs! A beautiful resort, will definitely plan on returning at some point to take advantage of the amenities they offer… like bocce ball!

Its a three br Condo complete with kitchen and a patio. Poolside has bar and grill restaurant. The food at the restaurant are your traditional bar and grill food. drawback the tables by the bar had unpleasant odor it would be hard to eat there, So we opted to eat faraway from the bar, morelike at poolside. The house keeper didn’t ckean our room, just changed the linens, well as least that was done. Anyway, t his place is ok

Very first time share experience– nice place but call before you reserve!!! No pool week we stayed & no one informed pool closed whole week we would be there! Pool was to open yesterday & still not open! Big reason we chose Scottsdale to lay by pool & relax– will think again about coming here again– we pay good honest money & deserve good honest service!!!

The service here is awful. The first time we were here the cleaning ladies forgot that we were in the room(a glitch in their computer system supposedly.). Even after calling and asking for cleaning no one came for 3 days — and ironically, our room was right next door to the cleaning offices. I spoke with the general manager and she was totally rude and incompetent. Since they won’t give me the owners’ info there is no one to go to above her and my guess is that the owners have no idea how bad this place is because she will never report herself and no one can contact her superior. One was Lori one was Robin or Shannon. No management skills. No problem-solving skills. Was extremely rude saying that we didn’t understand the issues then had to call back and eat her words. 2nd time — i asked for synthetic pillows when I reserved the room and then called the day of. We’re allergic to down. Do you think the pillows were there after two calls? Nope. Had to call a third time even though the lady in reservations assured me she put the ticket in. I could tell you countless stories like this which show just how incompetent the staff are and how poorly managed this place is. When we got to lie room there was trash all over the yard area etc. The sheets were also very dirty(blood or something) when we first arrived. So annoying! The people at the front desk, 3 out of 4 times have an attitude, and act like spoiled teenagers, like it’s a hardship for them to be there or to answer questions or help with something. When you go to the pool at night, they have no towels there. They can’t do a wash mid-day so that the pool towels are available? The air filter was so dirty, you could scratch an inch off of it. We asked them to replace it the first day. Got the run around for 3 days and by day 4 when we were leaving, they told us it was on backorder, even though the facilities guy said he’d go to Ace Hardware or Home Depot to get a replacement if it’s out of stock in their closet. Totally incompetent — they drop stuff all the time, never follow through — they’re practically useless. Why do we come here? For a cheap rate you get a 2 or 3 bedroom casita that is about 3x the price around here. The rooms are dated and not well kept. The restaurant and breakfast is a joke. But it’s about the space for a family with kids. I may not come back after the last list of failures on their part and the staff’s rudeness and lack of concern for their work. No one seems to take much pride in their work or in the place. Don’t count on any good, timely or accurate service here. It’s really bad!!!

I stayed here with a group of girls for a Bachelorette party weekend trip. I came across the resort from random searches online. We got an excellent rate most likely because we went during July. Our room was very clean and perfect size for a group of 4. We got the 2 bedroom villa and it had a nice size kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The only complaint I have was it was SO hot in the bedrooms, so the last night we were there I slept on the couch in the living room and it was much cooler. One of the days we hung out at the poolside bar and we had a very nice and personable bartender named Adrian. This is a resort I would definitely stay at again.

I stumbled across this resort on a business trip. I got a good rate(based on the season no doubt). The rooms were beautiful in Southwest theme. The restaurants and bar areas were were packed with a crowd of mixed ages. Very comfortable for all. The night that I visited the the«R Bar», they had a great guitarist/vocalist. He played mostly soft rock and soul favorites from the 80-ish time frame. This resort maintains a flourishing and prosperous feel in a time when other resorts are struggling to maintain their clientele. You will have to travel 4 plus miles to find a local coffee shop. So the location is a little remote. But not annoyingly so. I wouldn’t have come here on my own dime. But now that I’ve had the opportunity to stay in the luxurious rooms with otherwise posh accommodations, I will certainly return with my wife for a weekend,(or week long) get-a-way. Bravo Camelback Resort. What a great find!

This was our second stay at the resort. We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit which was fine except for the confusing upstairs bathroom with way too many doors which don’t lock. The living room was a little small. The resort itself is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. You can get an activity card for $ 7 which gives you access to a closet full of sporting equipment to play croquet, miniature golf, putting, volleyball, basketball, racquetball, and tennis. There are also games to borrow for free. The swimming pool is salt water. The location was perfect for us since we were visiting Sedona and Tucson. We were able to walk to Camelback Mountain for the Cholla Trail hike.

This stylish resort is located at the base of Camelback Mountain and about a mile from Fashion Square and Old Town Scottsdale. The location couldn’t be better. The salt water pool is a dream to layout in during the summer. The huge hot tub is a delight in the winter. They have a poolside bar, a restaurant, a gym, a sauna, a spa, racquetball courts, tennis courts. The villas can accommodate 1 to 8 people and have a kitchen and dining room. I’ve met lots of people from all over the globe here. The people at the front desk have always been friendly and chatty. They seem to get a kick out of the fact that I’ve been going there for 23 years.
