Residence Inn Scottsdale Paradise Valley

This place has an issue with silverfish bugs. They also do not respect the «Do Not Disturb» sign on your door.
I’ve stayed in two different buildings, and have had silverfish in my room both times. I found one in my bed! After reporting it both times to the front desk, the General Manager felt that she had the right to disregard my Do Not Enter sign, and send her maintenance man to enter my room while I was at work. Not only did he «look around» he sprayed my room! This was a total violation of my privacy, and health. It goes against their policy to respect our privacy.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are too many other choices around there.
One star for being located right across the street from Hillstone restaurant.

Love this hotel! The rooms are very comfortable and staff was very friendly especially Lucas. Will stay here again when visiting Scottsdale area.

We stayed here after our house sold. Beautiful room, helpful staff and a great stay all together. It was a very nice stay. Highly recommend.

My first time in Arizona, this place is amazing! Everything is walking distance! There is a nice hot tub, pool, gym and complimentary breakfast. Breakfast has to be my favorite time of the day! Not because of the food but because a wonderful manager/​server named George! He has such amazing energy and perfect for people to reflect on in the mornings. The only reason I did not provide this place with a full 5 stars is because of the possible cleaning issue in a couple of rooms and the ridiculous prices of supplies (a bottle of water is $ 2.50). Besides that I love this place. The color scheme in these rooms are beautiful and some rooms even have fire places.

Great hotel!
Staff: Excellent, very helpful and very very courteous! When i checked in the manager was calling rooms and leaving messages with people that didn’t want room service to make sure there wasn’t something specific they might have needed.
Location: Perfect, right off Scottsdale road, near downtown Scottsdale. Tons of places nearby to eat and see.
Facility: Rooms are clean, new and excellent. Grounds are very well kept and parking is plentiful. Small market at front desk with snacks and beverages (and beer and wine).
Only downside is the exercise facility is tiny. 1 treadmill, 1 bike and 1 elliptical and a few weights up to 20lbs but no bench to use. Now why this didn’t effect my review is because this is normal for almost all hotels of this size.
*Didnt use the pool but did notice the hot tub was pretty small (might get uncomfortable with someone you don’t know)
Price: well when i booked through
it was $ 139 a night which is a great price for a Residence Inn especially one in this area. When i was looking on google maps (after i got in town, mapping my way here) it said $ 189. So it looks like it can vary depending on the day or events in town

It’s fine. I do Marriott wherever I go and I must say the staff is very nice. The pool is small and the hot tub even smaller. There is a staff member (didn’t get his name) who totally owns the place. I love this guy. He constantly checks on everyone’s comfort and happiness. I would hire him for any business that I would operate.
Breakfast is the typical Residence Inn breakfast. What fails is the evening «social». Last night was supposed to be grilled food and we got ½ of a frozen meatball, cooked to lukewarm, on a small roll. Called it a meatball slider. Could not even eat it. Tonight was a sundae bar? At dinner?? Wine was probably «no alcohol» since there was no effect from it. I like the evening socials at Residence but this property’s events were substandard compared to others.

I really like the hotel. It’s convenient for traveling for several days or more. I’ve stayed here twice when in town for medical care at Greenbalm Surgery Center. It’s much nicer than the Extended Stay down the way.
Full kitchen full fridge stove top microwave. No oven. Sink is separate from the toilet and shower. Daily maid if you want it. Comfortable beds. Quiet. Pool. BBQ. Basketball.
Nice little breakfast buffet. Some nights there are snacks that are nearly dinner meals. The staff is nice and friendly.
Parking is close up to the building which is great. Just ask for a room on the inside to not get car lights in your window. I like that there is all kinds of storage. We stayed in a two room last time. It had two bedrooms proper– two doors and two baths. It had a closet and a fireplace. This was nice since we were here over the Christmas holiday. This time it’s hotter than all get out so I’m ok that my studio doesn’t have a fireplace. There is a desk and four chairs in all. I have to have a couch or I’m not comfortable. There’s a grocery down the street but don’t go to AJs it’s awful expensive. There’s a trader joes near by.

This place was booked for me by my employer, but I couldn’t have chosen better myself. I made some special requests for my room, and they were more than willing to accommodate. The social times Mon-​Wed evenings were great to have as a fall-​back plan if I didn’t want to get around town. The location is convenient if you want to load up your fridge with food from Trader Joe’s and keep it cheap while you’re there.
Includes kitchen (everything except oven), tv, full bath, living area with fireplace. For being forced away from my home for a couple weeks, this was a pretty good alternative.

Great great hotel.
Very rare a hotel have all its employees beyond awesome.
And the rooms are ok. Clean, spacious, nice kitchen.
All that I was looking for

We try to stay at a different Marriott property each time we visit the Phoenix area, and this one is up there with the best. We have enjoyed our stays at the Marriott Suites Old Town, the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort, the Phoenix Marriott at the Buttes, and now the Residence Inn, and although each were in different price ranges and services, the Residence Inn Scottsdale is by far the best value for your dollar. Unlike some Marriott properties, there was no charge for parking, and no added resort fees. From the extremely friendly front desk staff, the wonderful women who prepare the morning complimentary breakfast, and the housekeeping staff who make sure the room is spotlessly clean, it was a perfect stay. We really enjoyed walking a block away to Trader Joe’s to purchase some dinner items to prepare and enjoy in the well stocked kitchen, followed by a relaxing evening enjoying the TV programming from some of the most comfortable beds available. Unfortunately we were there for a Friday and Sunday night stay, so we missed the evening social hours which I’m sure must also be top notch. I can highly recommend this Marriott property for your stay in the Phoenix area, as it can not be beat for comfort, service, and cleanliness. Being a Marriott fan, thought I’d try this venue. I was and still am impressed daily by service and accommodations. I arrived after a 24 hour train trip and needed to sleep and clean-​up. With check-​in at 3pm I figured I would be on my own until then. I arrived at the hotel at 9am and had a clean room by 9:30 and was showered and in bed within record time. The rooms are clean and quiet. They put me on the pool side so as not to be disturbed by traffic on the street and that was a plus. I continue to get A+ service from personnel. I just came in and wanted some milk. They went to the food kept for the buffet and poured me a glass of milk with no charge. They continue to go out of their way to make sure I am happy and content. What a gold mine I have found. This will now be my go-​to hotel in the Scottsdale area from here on in. Added perk, there is a buffet breakfast daily and M-​TH 5:30−7 free beer/​wine and food that would satisfy any light eater. I AM SOLD MARRIOTT ON YOUR HOTEL!

A good deal. Evening and breakfast food service is typically Residence Inn. Solid, stand-​bys. Pool area was well maintained and the staff was very nice. The room was really in prety good shape. Beware– There is no elevator, so second floor rooms are a real challenge if you have much luggage at all.

Had never been to a Residence Inn before but will now try to stay at them whenever possible. I really liked the layout of the room, the fact that there was a kitchen and that I could be more self sufficient than in a normal hotel.
This location was central to everything I needed. Staff was friendly, free breakfast buffet was good… they even have a «hospitality» hour in the evening that could pass for dinner. Room was spacious — good TV, lots of towels, plenty of closet space. I was able to open one window for some fresh air, which I always appreciate in a hotel.
Cons: bed was hard so I didn’t sleep well and for some reason, the running of the bath/​shower in the unit above me was super loud. It’s not the hotel’s fault that the person above me wanted to take baths at 4:30 am, but I wish the running of the water didn’t jolt me awake.

Typical Residence Inn. No issues during my stay. Room was quiet, well furnished, clean and bed was comfortable.
Location is well situated for getting into Scottsdale.

The exterior of the facility looks nice and new. The interior on the other hand is a bit aged. Got the 1 queen bedroom. The bedroom is upgraded with granite counter tops and a nice full granite bath/​shower. The bed was quite new and comfortable and the unit had 2 LG flat screen TV’s. The living/​kitchen space however has not been remodeled. The furniture was old and the appliances were not state of the art. The room had 2 looks, old and new. Looks like they will eventually upgrade all units someday to have a synchronized look. The front desk staff was really nice and welcoming.

I thought this place was pretty ace.
That being said, I scored it on priceline for $ 60 a night for four nights. That makes things lots different than when you are paying full price.
Really, I can’t figure out why people pay full price ever anymore. Ridiculous really.
Regardless, my suite was huge, I loved having a full kitchen, the LG flat screen tv was wider than my arm span, the bed was comfy and the air conditioner/​thermostat are newer so it isn’t one of those ancient hotel room air pushers. It’s real and I could set it to an actual temperature and that made me happy.
My opinion of Scottsdale, and of Phoenix in general, is that it’s one gigantic suburbia with great parks and more shopping than anyone in America should ever need. I guess if you are into that this place is located in a pretty good area. I’m not. I’m more into parks. It was still in a pretty good area.

I was her for a total of 3 weeks 6 years ago and I’m back again for more corporate training but it doesn’t seem much has changed. I think the furniture and fixtures in these rooms are several decades old. I do appreciate that they got rid of the old style comforters and do the duvet cover idea instead. Carpet looks newer as well.
Very nice staff and this place is clean.
Free internet scores bonus points! YEAH! Also free breakfast and a happy hour that some may consider good enough to be dinner.
