Business Owner

Born and raised in Indiana, Ryan grew up in a police family. This gives Ryan a different perspective to Criminal Defense. Ryan understands the ins and outs of law enforcement, as well as the distinct issues that clients can face in their cases. Ryan brings both tenacity and compassion when dealing with his cases that puts his clients at ease knowing they are in good hands.

Ryan was admitted to the practice of law in Arizona in 2011 and is licensed in Federal Court. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and Maricopa County Bar Association and has concentrated his efforts in Criminal Defense. Ryan has knowledge and works on cases ranging from 1st Degree Murder and high level felonies to DUI’s and other misdemeanors. He has a strong track record for minimizing his clients’ exposure to the harsh laws of Arizona.

My father got a civil traffic ticket, which would have resulted in him getting points on his record if we hadn’t gotten a lawyer to fight the ticket. The firm was incredibly professional and responsive to any questions that we had. In addition, it was very convenient that the lawyers represented us in court since we live in California and the incident happened in Arizona. Our court date got changed a couple times, but we were always notified ahead of time about the new date. I’m incredibly grateful that we had this firm support us through all this.

How often do you encounter a lawyer who makes a recommendation in your best interest even when it means they don’t receive a dime? Robert from R&R is top notch; during a free phone consultation he listened patiently to my speeding ticket rant, reviewed all the options with me, provided info I was unaware of (i.e. if I paid the ticket I’m admitting guilt and would get 2 points on my record!) then proceeded to explain why he thought driving school was my best course of action. I am impressed and should any future driving mishaps occur, I know who to call! Thanks Robert and R&R!

Ryan Cummings, admittedly, was a fresh law graduate I believe when he and while employed by another law firm, took on a case for me where he completely threw me under the bus and failed to fight anything substantive on my behalf. He folded to the aggressive prosecutor and it took me to mention to the judge that there were some hardship issues that I alone prompted the judge to consider when imposing a fine. When Ryan was confronted by this, he lied to his employer claiming that he was the one who alerted the judge to these issue; when, again and in fact, I did so soley on my own and right there in front of him, the judge and entire courtroom! I guess training from a 4th tier (lowest) recently accredited law program with no experience got me what my 5000 US could buy at the time. Ridiculously inept counsel. I have to live with that but If I can stop just one of you from believing in this «charmer» (who folds under pressure) but make you feel like you are the most important client in the world, then I would have done my duty to forewarn you. Run. You can find much more seasoned, connected and competent reputable (more competitive) law school graduates in the Phoenix area than this guy. Any decent attorney will provide free advice during a consultation so don’t let this fool you. They are not doing anything out of the ordinary by providing such. Anyway, who wants advice from someone who Charms rather than fights for you when in front of the authorities? Proceed at your own imminent peril. You are warned

When I was much much younger, I received speeding tickets quite regularly… but, it’s now been 5 – 8 years since my last; and I was not looking forward to this one! In the past, I probably represented myself about 60% of the time with great success, so I am pleased to agree with other reviewers that Robert was awesome to interact with… particularly when we spoke about potential strategies/​arguments he might utilize in my defense. Obviously, I went with him largely because I felt like we were on the same page with how the case might be handled… and lo and behold, he was extremely successful! I came across Rob out of pure luck! I was desperate for help after receiving a camera ticket. I was nervous about the upfront costs of the ticket but I was even more terrified of the potential insurance premium increases.
I had so many questions. Despite my panic, Rob and Ryan were constantly available to me through phone and email. They were professional, direct, confident, patient, and very informative. They clearly have a vast knowledge of each city’s individual court processes and how to manage the circumstances.
I never felt like a bother although I often knew I was taking full advantage of their time! Even the sweet receptionist was always very kind and helpful. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone!
P.s– my case was dismissed!

From my experience, I highly recommend Robert without hesitation! Do not be scared away by other higher priced lawyers who had warned me, «You get what you pay for!» when they proposed to charge substantially more than what Robert charged. More expensive being «best» was not the truth! Robert was able to charge less (a very reasonable amount) because clearly he is efficient, knowledgeable and experienced (!) about how to work through the traffic court systems in place – he handled things by phone and fax and therefore didn’t need to pass along «travel costs» to me. What a concept!
The case was a bit complicated because it involved 2 violations; one of which was an erroneously charged misdemeanor [“driving without a license”], so there was no way I was going to chance it being fouled up by trying to handle it myself. After I hired Robert, I never looked back!
Robert ALWAYS quickly responded to both my texts, phone calls and e-​mails. He was very honest and enthusiastic in his approach and his expected outcome. The case was handled expertly with the best outcome I could have hoped for. I am fully satisfied and highly recommend him.
