Peas in a Pod was founded by Kate Owensby, an early childhood educator and former nanny. Kate has a master’s degree in educational leadership, a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, and is excited to share her knowledge and experience with families and nannies in the greater Phoenix area.

Kate grew up in Prescott, Arizona and completed her undergraduate education in Tucson and Chicago before moving back to Phoenix to begin her professional teaching career and complete her master’s degree. In addition to her experience teaching Kindergarten and pre-​kindergarten, Kate worked as a nanny for more than eight years. She understands how important it is to build a relationship of mutual respect and trust when working with a family. Kate also knows that effective communication is a critical skill needed to support and nurture that relationship.

Kate also has a passion for developing literacy skills in young children and for connecting with like-​minded educators and caretakers whose highest goal is family advocacy and support. Kate’s vision of Peas in a Pod is to bring all of her experience and expertise together to to create a network of love and care for families throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.
