I don’t always have the best luck with cell phones, and today was no exception. I dropped my phone once again multi-​tasking, and so I needed to find a repair shop who could fix it right away. I spoke to a friend who referred me to Mac Masters and when I glanced at their online reviews, they were for the most part very positive and encouraging.
So I stopped by their store earlier today and thought the staff was extremely friendly, and I was greeting right away. They appeared extremely busy working on lots of other customers’ phones and laptops, so I really wasn’t that bothered by the relatively short wait. They informed me the cost would be $ 99 to fix my iPhone screen and that it would take approximately 45mins, if I wanted to proceed with the repair at that time. So I agreed and left to grab something to eat nearby to kill some time.
I returned in 45 mins to find they weren’t quite done, but in the end my phone did look brand new again.
Yeah it took them just over an hour, but the overall experience was quick and hassle free. They even helped me find the right phone protector from a large selection inside their store. I’d recommend Mac Masters to my friends and would use them in the future, if the need ever arises again to repair one of my Apple devices.

Mac Master fixed my phone in 1 hour as promised at a reasonable price

The guys at Mac Masters took care of me on a few different levels of excellent sales and support! Me being new to the Apple iphone 6plus S 64gig it was refreshing to deal with 2 pros that knew there stuff and gave me some really great deals and knowledge that helped me greatly! You have to go talk to these guys and see what great products and information they have for you!

I took my Macbook Pro into the shop today because it wouldn’t start, and within an hour it was running like new! Josh was as nice as could be, and he was able to fix and clean the computer right there on the spot! I highly recommend this place!

I took 2 iPhone 4s in to get screens repairs. They said it would be an hour or so. I get a call later saying that I needed a new battery and software updating, etc. I tell them I don’t want it, they do it anyway. I get back to pick up the phone and it was over $ 250. I told them didnt want to pay for anything except the screen repair and they wouldn’t budge. After all that, they tried upselling me with their overpriced cases and accessories. The antenna wouldn’t work as strong, no matter where I went the reception was always low. A couple days after I had the phone, the screen cracked. I was better off buying a replacement off craigslist. sheesh. I gave them a shot and it clearly didnt work out. They clearly don’t have any experience with retail or have any basic customer service skills. I refer people over to Mac Media in old town scottsdale instead.

When my iPhone broke I went to uBreakiFix — where it took them 24 hours to return it back to me only to tell me that it couldn’t be fixed. After that went to see MacMasters and 2 hours later my phone was fixed and ready to go, since that time, I’ve never gone anywhere else and used MacMasters for fixing my laptop and all of my Apple products (MacBook pro, my back up hard drive, IPad). If you’re looking for a place that will fix your Apple products, and do it with high quality, I would highly recommend MacMasters in Scottsdale.

Terrible business. Don’t use these guys. They repaired an item of mine. Did not fix it and told me tough I had to eat the charge.

I’ve broken just about every phone I’ve ever had, along with the cost of getting it fixed, so I know when I’m in good hands.
All the places I’ve been to have always tried to rip me off just because I’m a girl.
Mac masters gave me the best customer service, along with the best price, and they finished earlier then expected!
Everyone that I’ve recommend to Mac Masters have been satisfied, and I will continue recommending them!!!

These guys are criminals. They are sooooo overpriced!!!
After these guys charged me $ 300 for a $ 99 repair I did my research.
A 500gb hard drive for a Macbook costs $ 39 on amazon.
It takes less than 10 minutes to install.
Then why did you charge me $ 300
They also charged me $ 100 for an estimate?
They should be reported to the better business bureau for price gouging.
Why do you have to take advantage of people?
You guys suck!!!

My iPhone five crashed at 3 o’clock this afternoon. I have never felt so totally disconnected in my life. To make matters worse I am almost 3000 miles away from my home. THE GREAT NEWS! I found MacMasters using my iPad. I dropped the phone off at four and it was fixed by five. Amazing service. Consummate professionals. And a very fair price. I highly recommend them.

BEAUTIFUL SERVICE! m not a big fan of 5 star reviews, as a matter of fact, I’VE NEVER DONE A REVIEW but i must admit I was impressed. Before I begin, my only downfall is that they are slightly pricey but with the time and effort they put into the work it can have its benefits.
Let me begin the my review by saying I am very satisfied. I’m visiting Arizona from New Mexico, broke my MacBook’s screen, found Mac Masters for a solution. Customer Service was excellent (front desk and worker), they are VERY personal and they want to make sure ALL of your problems are fixed. There is a VISIBLE passion for computers in that store and you can feel it by the conversations and suggestions that were given to me by the workers at MacMasters. If you take pride in what you do, and want to leave customers happy you’ll always be in business. MacMasters after picking up my laptop gave constructive advice and tips, and even suggested items that I may could use for my laptop. They are very good at the business side of things.
The same day I broke my Mac was the same day it was fixed, very fast service. I was most impressed how MacMasters not only fixed my computer but cleaned my FILTHY laptop. Great cleaning solutions they must have because the trackpad and the whole computer has a brand new feel to it.
I chose Mac Masters for everything they offered for Mac, they had classes, solutions, fixes, repairs; just a nice range of things they can do for you and that was attractive. The organization of advertisement was well constructed and readable, the store itself was believable and it sold itself. I honestly told myself and my girlfriend I will miss that place but I am happy we did business with them.

This companies high ratings are questionable. I just want to let you know I love local businesses and know how bad Unilocal ratings effect mom & pop places but this is unjustifiable
My macbook dropped from my suitcase on my rug and the screen was flickering black but I could still use it. Safari worked, I could get into my files, etc. I took it to Apple where they ran a 45 min test to see what the issue was. The Apple guy told me the cable fried and I needed a new screen. He told me Apple stores no longer replace screens but finding a place was easy
I googled and found Mac Masters (obviously didn’t check Unilocal) After calling a few other spots I figured these guys were knowledgable, friendly and had somewhat of a good deal $ 95 to diagonse issue/​labor then he explained I would only have to pay for the parts
I arrived at Mac Masters (Tues) and explained the issue to another guy and handed over my computer. He said the total is $ 95 and I said okay. He then said «We have people pay before» I hesitated but I had no other choice at this point since I NEED my computer for work so I paid the $ 95 and left. A man called me a few hours later to tell me they were running tests and that they would call me the day after tomorrow, they don’t work Wednesdays… why didn’t the man tell me that on the phone? Why didn’t the other man tell me that when I dropped it off? I started getting a bad feeling.
At 5PM today (Thurs) I received a call from a guy at Mac Masters who told me my hard drive is failing but he had a few more tests to run and will call me later. The hard drive was replaced last year.
Driving to work at 5:45 I called the Apple store at the Scottsdale Quarter and explained to him what was going. I told him about what the genius bar guy said a few days before and what the mac masters guy was explaining about the failing hard drive — The apple guy said that I must have misunderstood the mac masters guys wording hardrive for hardware because there was not one thing that showed from the Apple diagnostics when he pulled up my account! Now I panicked knowing something wasn’t adding up. I asked if I could conference him in as I called back Mac Masters so he could explain better what the guy was saying.
I asked the Mac Masters guy to re-​explain the issue while the apple guy listened in. He hesitated, put me on hold, then came back and said something along the lines of: Your harddrive is failing, I cannot boot up your computer, it doesn’t function AT ALL, and the screen is now WORKING perfectly. HUH?.. why didn’t he tell me the screen was FIXED in the earlier phone conversation we had because that was the ONE AND ONLY concern I had with the computer?
I was amazed to hear the screen worked but then he told me that the computer doesn’t work and it won’t boot up. HUH? After I hung up with him the Apple guy said that something didn’t make sense and that a hard drive issue has nothing to do with flickering of the screen. The Apple tests weren’t adding up with mac masters.
So I called Mac Masters back at 6:02 and the man got agitated with me because I honestly don’t know a lot about computers. He had no customer service skills at all — I was just trying to see how it got to this point if the hard drive was a year old! He said «we get external hard drives dropped off all the time and suddenly they don’t work when we plug them in, this is the case with your macbook» I was done. I said thank you I’ll call tomorrow and hung up. I immediately called my mom who was home because I had work at 6:30. I asked if she could go pick it up for me but I knew they were going to need to see my ID. I quickly drove over to pick it up myself. A friendly guy greeted me. I politely said I needed to pick up my macbook and handed him my ID. He told me it wasn’t ready for pickup and I said thats fine I want it back. He went in the back came back up and told me it would be 5 – 10 minutes. I asked why because I had work and he said to reassemble it. I truly was scared they were going to wipe out my computer or something to get out of this lie. While he was in the back, the guy i had been talking to on the phone over the passed hour came to the front to do something. He knew it was me, didn’t even look at me, nothing. The other guy came out a few minutes later with my macbook — which I saw my home screen completely lit up. I thought that couldn’t «boot it up»!! He quickly shut off my macbook saying that «I should never drive with my computer on» Never heard that one?
WELL I am typing this review a few hours later from the computer that supposedly had a failed hard drive and couldn’t be «booted up»
Apple was wrong for saying I needed a new screen but Mac Masters takes the cake with SCAMMING me. I’m so happy I didn’t pay for a screen or hard drive!
He thought I was a girl who wouldn’t question getting the hard drive replaced. So glad i listened to my gut and picked it up

I feel violated! I spilt some stuff on my MacBook Pro, everything worked fine except for the space bar, it would stick. I took it in they said the cost would be 150 for the cleaning and it should be done in 2 days max. 8 days later I receive a call saying my keyboard and trackpad need to be replaced, parts and labor — 550 $. I called bs on it cause I knew the condition I brought it in on and refused the 550 repair, so then they proceed to tell me there is going to be a 85 $ reassemble fee since I am not going through with the repair. Ended up paying 235 $ not much. Bad Service, bad company, save your money and go somewhere else.

DON’T go here! Use a pay phone or a library computer if you’re desperate! F**ed me over. $ 274 to replace my iPhone 5 screen, only for it to go blank 2 days later. Thank god for Siri. Took it to apple, told me it wasn’t even a verified apple product and they are taking the false claim to corporate. The boys that work there are kind but under false intentions. Tried to resolve it with them and response; (ha!) we’ll fix it again, and we just dropped the price to $ 170! So $ 344 and I can have another crappy phone.

This place is terrible! Do not take your phone here. They said originally my phone would could $ 45 to fix and it would wen I went to go pick it up they charged me an extra $ 40 to pick it up.

For some reason on my IPhone 5, my outgoing voice was not working and the charging/​data plug had been acting up.
I arrived at their Scottsdale location just before 6pm knowing that they close at 7pm. I was met by one of their techs, Luca. He was polite and courteous and between him and another tech, they found the problem, fixed it and I was on my way. They had to replace a module which they gave to me.
Total bill was around $ 75 which was well worth it. Thanks.

I found Mac Masters on a google search and figured I would try them out with an iPod Touch that had a shattered screen. I bought the replacement screen kit online for $ 25 (Amazon) and followed a youtube instructional video on replacing it. I didn’t get the screen to come on but heard the iPod still working. So I called Mac Masters and ended up bringing it in for them to complete for me. After a $ 45 diagnostic charge and 14 hours later I get a call telling me that unfortunately, the cable for the volume and lock button was cut. I don’t recall cutting any cables as I was extremely careful when handling the device as I followed the youtube instructions which told me exact ways to prevent the cutting of any cables.
They said they could fix it for $ 109 and there was NO negotiations (everything in life is negotiable – I’m in sales). This was after already paying $ 45 for the «diagnostic check».
I then received a call an hour or so later from them now saying that the cable for the NEW SCREEN that I just bought was cut as well. I know for a fact that I did not cut any cables on the part that I brought as they were all attached when I brought it in.
They told me the charge for this addtional was normally $ 154 but they would do it for $ 54. So, now I’m at $ 45 + $ 109 + $ 54…$ 208! This 4^th Gen iPod is all over Craigslist for $ 100-​$ 120 — and that’s for 16gb and larger… not that 8gb that I’m trying to have replaced.
I said no to their offer of charging an additional $ 54 and it was ludicrous that I was look at $ 208 to fix something I had started and bought the parts for. When I was told initially over the phone that the total cost wouldn’t be more than $ 139 if they had to replace the whole piece and I bought the parts from them!
The response from the guy on the phone was what drove me to write this review…“not to be rude, but we aren’t the ones who told you to go do this repair on your own”.
What an awful way to try and appease a customer. There’s a reason you tech geeks are stuck fixing stuff all day and don’t have anything better to do than rip people off.
I am now thinking of these guys in a way I think of Firestone (the auto repair company) you go in expecting one thing and what seems to be a legit price and after the «technician» works on it and causes other issues, now (unless you are an expert in the field) you are told about a million other issues that end up costing you a ton of money.
AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. THEY ARE A RIP OFF AND A SCAM. THIS ALL HAPPENED TODAY AND I HAVE ALREADY GONE AND BOUGHT A PERFECTLY GOOD CONDITION IPOD TOUCH 4TH GEN 16GB FOR $ 90 FROM CRAIGSLIST. WAY BETTER DEAL!

Is it overpriced? Yes. But do you want it done right, and fast? Then just blame yourself for not having a case, like myself, bring it, pay the money and walk out completely satisfied.
Phenomenal customer service and also work. It really does look and feel brand new.
I had an iPad repaired at a iCell Fix in Fashion Square mall… they were terrible! A) Took 3 days B) wifi didn’t work, had to take it back C) another 2 days D) Off center…
Definitely come to Mac Masters where they know what they are doing and will get your baby back to normal quick!

Shattered my iPhone screen and was given a quote to fix at $ 139 over phone… drive down to store, and was told it is actually $ 329. Boo. Can’t comment on their actual service, cause the hefty price tag scared me away.

My daughter’s beast of a Mac Mini won’t boot up. We took it to Apple to have it checked and hopefully repaired. Now, I love Apple products, but wow on Apple (Don’t)Care. The Genius Bar Specialist hooked our machine up to run the diagnostics, stated that it looks like it can be fixed and then BOOM! Hold, can’t do it as the device is so old. And yes, it doesn’t matter that you want to pay for the service. WHAT?!
Thankfully there is MacMasters. The guys here were super friendly, addressed all our questions and listened to what exactly we wanted done. We had a rather expensive software installed in the Mac Mini that we really wanted to save as much as possible. So as much as they can they avoided the need to completely reset it and restore to factory settings. We paid the $ 85 fee, which was only fair since they have to run the diagnostics. If the issue is more than a simple fix, especially if a part is needed, they will let you know and of course, price will be adjusted accordingly. They were very upfront about how long it might take, which I truly appreciated. 1.5 days later we get a call that it is up and running, software was saved and we can pick it up. All for $ 85.
Thanks MacMasters! My daughter is so happy to have her Mac back. No thanks to Apple (Don’t)Care.
