Alfred and Elizabeth Chan relocated to Arizona from Northern California in 2005 with a Company where Elizabeth worked for 20 years. Having lived among very large Burmese community over 20 years in Northern California, Elizabeth learned all kinds of great Burmese cooking from families and friends. The first few months of living in Arizona are like fish out of water for Alfred who has always enjoy varieties of authentic Asian food so Elizabeth statred cooking more than before. Since then both Alfred and Elizabeth ponders if it might be a good idea to open Burmese restaurant in Arizona. This seem the natural path to follow as Alfred has been in the restaurant industry for almost 30 years where he had worked at all level including managing position at the fine dinning Italian restaurants.

Elizabeth retired early from her long time corporate job in September 2007, but wanted to do something for the community so they started «Little Rangoon» in January 2008.
