Lightning Lube

Everything the previous Unilocalers wrote in their reviews about Lightning Lube was totally spot-​on! This was a good place to get your oil changed and I would definitely recommend to others. I like the punch card so you can get your 5^th oil change for free :)

Going to Lightning Lube was hands-​down, without a question the best experience I’ve ever had getting my oil changed.
Went on a Friday at 3 PM when no one else was there, and I went from pulling up to pulling out in 10 minutes flat.
They never tried to upsell me on anything and were as kind, personable, and professional as possible.
Long story short: come here to get your oil changed!

I just left Lightning Lube for an oil change & was very impressed. Allan was helpful, friendly, and quick. I waited 20 minutes with 2 other cars being serviced at the same time. Quick and easy in and out for an oil change and they didn’t try selling me other services! I will definitely be coming back for that reason. I always hated getting my oil changed because other places would always make it seem like my car is breaking down and needs this this and this done to it. Anyways, they were great and gave me a punch card for oil changes. So cool!

Went in for the first time this morning and had a great experience. The bottom line is that the guys were friendly, quick, and didn’t try to BS me (which has happened to me many times at other shops). I waited in the waiting room for maybe 30 or 40 minutes at most.
I walked out paying $ 49 for a synthetic blend oil change. Make sure to use your Unilocal check-​in too!
I will definitely be back for my next servicing.

My wife and I have been looking for a new place since Avis Lube closed their doors. This place exceeded all my expectations. They go way above and beyond the call of duty! I highly recommend them and if I could give them 10 stars I would be most happy to do so. Excellent customer service, very friendly and they are really honest and quite efficient. They give you a oil change punch card and the 5^th one is FREE!

So I have just bought a Kia spectra manual 2004 and was concerned about some things not working, some of which I fixed myself to save cash. I’m good at fixing stuff if I have tools but I needed an oil change and an honest opinion about the cars condition as I might be taking it cross state. Initially I took the car to We Fix it across the street as I was lowered into their trap of free car wash and complete engine check with oil change. I was told by Andres after calling them all day inquiring about my cars status and was put on till the end of the day. I had left the car with them only for an oil change and on my way back to collect the car I used the bus which stopped right in front of lighting lube. I decided to inquire about their services. God I’m happy I met Sam I think that’s his name.
We fix it told me I had to spend $ 480 for things like left Axel replacement, transmission fluid leak, power steering leak, and couple of other things.
I knew the Axel was fine so I said okay I’ll come back later and took the car to lightning lube right away. To my surprise Sam asked me to come have a look at my cars bottom side. He told me everything honestly that none of those things are bad and I saw that. I was embarrassed that this gentlemen had given me an honest opinion about my car but I couldn’t get an oil change because I just got it done across street. I’ve been to him second time to get something checked, they fixed it right away and now I’m obliged to write this long review.
I’m new to USA and hadn’t met a single honest person since the past four months I’ve been here until I went to lightning lube. I would come back to them for sure no matter what.

I had fantastic service the two times I have come; I never felt swindled or pressured to «upgrade» my basic oil change and the staff were super nice. I also watched one of the employees help a guy who came in to get an AC repair. The previous place told him it would be $ 1200…he was hoping LL could do it for $ 800. The employee looked at the car and replaced a fuse; told him it was no cost! Another store literally wanted to sell him a $ 1200 repair and LL was entirely honest and professional. I’ll never go anywhere else.

They have a loyalty card! What?! Seems unheard of for a business that performs oil changes. The staff is great and their prices are very comparable to other business close to them. I asked them if they would add some fluid I bought from autozone to my transmission and they did without hesitation. In addition to all of that, they are very easy to find. Great work!

This is awesome! I’m not sure what happened the morning I had my oil changed at Lightning Lube. However the owners recognized this and are standing by their commitment to 100% satisfaction by offering me a free service of my choice.
The next time I need an oil change I will be going to Lightning Lube for the service.

Alright, it had been quite some time since my last oil change so I was a little embarrassed to go in for one because I knew it wasn’t going to be good. BUT I finally made the last second decision to head to Lightning Lube after I did a Unilocal search and they had great reviews and it was close to home.
Unilocal didn’t fail me yet again! The service was so great! I called ahead and they told me first come first serve which was wonderful because I wanted to get my oil changed right away.
I got the basic oil change package which came to $ 30, however, if you check in on Unilocal you get $ 4 off your first oil change, score! They told me my car would be ready in about an hour. What a deal!
When I returned, it was bad like a expected but they didn’t make me feel ashamed or guilty. The employee explained that they put half regular oil and half synthetic oil because my car needed it but did NOT charge me extra for the synthetic oil so I really appreciated that. The employee walked out to my car with my and gave me a sticker to put in my car stating when I should exactly come back for my next oil change, something I desperately needed!
I will definitely be making this place my go-​to for oil changes. They even give you a punch card, buy 4 oil changes, get the 5^th one free!

Fast, friendly service and the guys are super helpful! I always leave here feeling good that I wasn’t pressured to buy things I don’t need.
They also have a loyalty card that can eventually be used for a free oil change.

I seriously have no idea how or why this place gets 5 stars from so many reviewers. I need to see if all of the reviews are legit or perhaps I went on an off day for the woman we had to deal with to get our oil changed.
I had an extra hour to take care of the oil change due on my car. I looked up an oil changing station on Unilocal that was close to our home. This place was highly rated, so I decided to give it a try. I normally go to my Subaru dealership, but was trying to get a quick oil change while I was out and had a few minutes.
I told my husband to meet me there to get both of our vehicles done at the sane time.
We drove up to the stall and some lady comes out to greet us. I rolled down my window and asked about pricing, time it would take, etc. The price she quoted me for an oil change for my car seemed high and I told her that. She got really cranky at me and told me it was a good deal and normally priced. I take my car to a dealership which has notoriously higher prices than these drive up oil changing stations and her quote was still way higher than the dealership prices that I normally pay. So, I said that I’d wait on my car but I wanted to go ahead and have my husband’s truck done.
At this point, There was only one other car in the stall.
When we get inside to wait, the woman, still with a very aggressive and rude attitude, tells me it’s going to be an hour wait. I was shocked. I thought this place was called Lightning because they were fast. An hour? There was only one other guy waiting to get his oil changed.
I wanted to just leave right then because she had such a horrible and rude attitude, but they had already pulled the truck into the stall.
I told her that my husband and I were going to run and grab something to eat next door and she warned me that if we weren’t back in an hour, they would be closed. She seemed annoyed that we were leaving. She seemed annoyed in general.
We have a 6 month old and sitting around hanging out at an oil changing station where there is no place for my baby to sit or play is not ideal. So, we left. We were back in time to pick up the truck and to pay for the services.
I don’t know if it was the lady’s combative, extremely rude and condescending attitude that made me so angry or if it was the fact that we had to wait so long for an overpriced service, but I was angry at myself for not just leaving when I realized this was going to be a very negative experience.
Again, maybe I was there on an off day for the woman we had to deal with, but either way, I will never be back. If you can’t be nice or at least decent to your customers, I would recommend not being in a customer-​facing position within the company.

I feel bad disturbing the 5 star trend here as I went here because of the stellar reviews. Besides the 0 pressure sales, Jiffy Lube has this place beat.
I came on a Friday morning and there were two people waiting. I came into the office and there was no one there so I stood for a few minutes then sat down. Another person came in as desk guy came in and he got checked in. The desk guy ran back out.
He came back in and I gave him my keys. At this point I was there about 10 minutes. I waited another 30 minutes and it was time to discuss services. He suggested an air filter which looked dirty so I said to change it, but he checked and they didn’t have my type. When I was ready to go 15 minutes later I asked if they checked the air in my tires (part of the full service oil change) as my tire sensors have been going off when it’s cold and he said they did, but sometimes it takes some driving for the light in the car to go off. Sensor still went off days later so I had to put air in.
Maybe they were overwhelmed or having a bad day, but I did not get good service and the entire visit was awkward.
Ultimately, I don’t mind saying no a bunch of times and paying a little more if it means a smooth and quick visit. I’ll be going elsewhere next time.
