Before heading out to Saguaro Lake, the Mr. and I stopped at Old Town Farmer’s Market to grab a quick bite. It was my suggestion to try the La Vida Locavore truck, foolishly thinking it would be fast. I could not have been more wrong even if I were a man. I seriously could have driven home and made them myself in less time, assuming I had any eggs. But then again, I might have been able to raise a chicken, too. My bad for not asking how long? No, the poor lady in front of me did ask and was told just a «few minutes.» Twenty is a few now? Even my Meyer lemonade, which was very good, took a while. The breakfast burritos would have been pretty good had we not ordered bacon in them(count your blessings Garmen S). The bacon was not sliced bacon, it was like a big slab of fat and gristle. I never had one bite that was meat, and ended up spitting out far too many pieces that were inedible. My advice is to steer clear if you’re in a hurry, and don’t order bacon!

We ended up here because I think it was one of the only places that had seating at the Farmers Market. Ideally not how anyone should choose a place to eat, but when you’re starving and you’re tired from standing in the heat, this food truck option sounded great! $ 6 breakfast burrito. They forgot the bacon. Not bad not great. $ 6 grilled cheese sandwich and side salad. Better than the burrito for sure. Slices of tomato in the sandwich was an unexpected, but nice surprise. Between the two — stick to the grilled cheese. Other offerings but didn’t try: French toast or granola with yogurt and fresh fruit.
