Joann spent a lot of time getting to know me in our initial 1:1 interview. She gave me ideas to instantly help with dating. I felt she really listened and heard me. Joann gave me honest and valuable feedback about myself and gave me great ideas to help me find Mr. Right, with or without a matchmaker. Joann has been in the relationship business and has a lot of ideas on how to help people get into lasting relationships and what may be stopping them. Joann is very clear that matchmaking isn’t for everyone but everyone can find someone, if they do the right things. I got a lot of ideas from the first meeting with her. Joann is able to deliver some tough love without being condescending or mean. Joann is selective about the male clients she decides to work with. I’ve met professional, successful gentlemen that were great dates and a good fit for me. She really makes well thought out matches. I highly recommend Joann for matchmaking. I’ve given my personal friends her contact information many times.

When it comes to dependability and honesty in a realm where both easily get missed (dating realm), Joann is a star. I have been working on a professional level with Joann for close to four years and have consistently had great success with her. She is a good listener, talks straight, and follows through with precision. She is caring, optimistic, and has an authentic desire to see her clients succeed. I usually wait a few month before I write a mediocre comment to make sure i am not emotional about it.
I came across Joann’s website last year. I filled an application and sent it to her. The website said that it may take a very long time till I hear back from her and I should be patient and not give up. To my surprise shortly after I sent the application she got back to me and wanted to schedule a meeting.
I was very happy that I didn’t have to wait long. I read the instruction, it was all about being punctual and not wasting her time, etc, etc. It all made sense. I am a very punctual person so i didn’t even need to worry about that.
My appointment was at 3pm. Just to make sure I am not going to be late, I left extra early and ended up being there 25 min before my appointment. The office was not very easy to find, but i found it and told the receptionist my name and she told me to wait and Joann is going to come and get me. I grabbed a magazine and tried to keep myself busy till my appointment time.
I could hear her talking to a client. I occasionally looked at the clock. it was 5min after and no sign of her, I still could hear her taking, 15 minutes passed 3pm and she still didn’t come to get me after a few more minutes i started to get annoyed. I was thinking my time should be as important as her, she emphasized so much on timing in her protocol, she should respect other peoples time as her own. anyway, she walked out 18 min passed 3pm. looked at me in the lobby and then looked at the receptionist and said, i didn’t know she was hear, receptionist looked at her computer, then at her and shrug her shoulder with a puzzled look.
What really bothered me at that point was that she didn’t even acknowledged that she was late and she didn’t apologized for that.
anyway, she started to interview me and after every answer i gave her she told me that i have to compromise…
she told me to compromise for height, age, religion, race, profession, education, pets, and kids. When we got to the kids part I drew the line and said Joann, i do not want to date anyone who has kids. I know it won’t work for me. i would not compromise for that. She told me that the man i am looking for pretty much doesn’t exist. At least not in Arizona, she told me i am living in the wrong state and I have to move out of state or make all those compromises.
I was thinking if i wanted to do all those compromises i didn’t have to meet with her, i would leave my house and have a boyfriend in 5 seconds!!! (Yes, it may sound too cocky but I am actually a very attractive and educated women)
anyways, her service did not work for me at all, however it completely took my hope away and made me think that I will never find an ideal man.
shortly after, i met Mark on a dating site. He is a good looking man, has a great profession, very well educated, never married before, no kids, no pets, Caucasian and a couple of years younger than me. Not only he has everything I wanted in a man but much more to offer. I am very happy, we are dating for about 8 month now and everything is going great.
I hope this review is helpful. I gave a 2 star because Joann was dressed very nice and looked professional and the office was clean!

Joann Cohen is a dream come true when it comes to matchmaking! She knows the business and is extremely knowledgeable at the dating scene. She has the «gift» and knew from the beginning she had a perfect match for my girlfriend! Boy, was she right… my girlfriend married that mystery man!!! That’s what I call success! Joann is an amazing matchmaker. I have worked with many of matchmakers, but none like Joann. She is very knowledgeable in matchmaking and understanding the dating scene. Joann really cares about her clients, and is such a great resource of knowledge.

I am also a matchmaker and do a lot of collaborating with Joann. She is a joy to work with and her clients are quality, lovely people. Joann keeps a quality group of people because she does not take on everyone. If she doesn’t feel that she can match someone, or that they are not ready, etc. she will either take them on as a coaching client first, and then match them, or not take them on. I can’t say enough good things about Joann!

Joann is a remarkable matchmaker. I have had the privelege of telling some of my friends about Joann and they have connected with her and she has set them up with men that are compatible. Whatever she tells you, you need to hear it, even if it might bruise your ego. She wants to see you happy and wants what’s best for you. So LISTEN to her and don’t take it personally. We all need a swift kick in the butt sometimes to meet that perfect person for us. As a professional in the industry with 8 years of experience, I couldn’t recommend her more and is one of the only matchmakers in the country I can send my clients to with confidence.
