History
Established in 1986.
The owners, Balbir and Kusam Tuli, purchased a Seafood Restaurant, Clamdiggers 44, located in the North-East Corner of 44th Street and Camelback Road, in Phoenix, AZ, setup and run by Paul Westpfal who then was was a basketball player of Phoenix Suns with number 44, in 1986 from a friend who purchased it from Paul Westphal, and converted it into a Cuisine of India Restaurant under the name Jewel of the Crown, to present in the Valley of the Sun the kind of North Indian Cuisine which was brought to England and made to shine brighter just as the Kohinoor jewel was brought to England and made to shine brighter and placed in Queen’s Crown. The said Cuisine of India is viewed by the Owners as a Jewel of the Crown in naming their restaurant. After 5 years it moved to North-East Corner of Scottsdale Road and Indian School Road in the location of Scottsdale Culinary School, and after 9 years moved to present in Scottsdale Mall next to the Center for the Arts in the location of Mafia Factory.
