History

Established in 1964.

Guidon Books was established in 1964, specializing in Western Americana and Civil War. The store was originally located on Main Street, but in March 2011, the store moved to 7109 E. 2nd Street (the corner of 2nd Street and Marshall Way) in downtown Scottsdale. The store is now triple its original size.

Shelly Dudley is the daughter of the original owners, Ruth and Aaron Cohen. Following 26 years as a historical analyst at Salt River Project (water and power utility in central Arizona), Shelly is now managing Guidon Books.
