History

Established in 2001.

In 2001 after coming back working overseas, the idea of a carpet cleaning company was ptiched to me. I was anything but interested. The idea of «cleaning» with chemicals was a bit of an oxymoron to me, especially in the case of santizining air ducts. What was the point of cleaning the ventilation system and then spraying more junk in? I was in a quandry with the chemicals component. I once designed an educational garden for a project overseas. In one area, there was a section entitled «Plants for Ecomonic Growth and Survival» I remembered the garden and the wondrous properties of those plants. With that firmly in my mind, I decided to found the company with only plant based cleaning solutions. Believe me, for a few years, it was really tough and we had to rely on Faux Finishing to get by. «Green» «Plant Based» were not exactly big draws in the commerical and residential cleaning world. Now in 2008, green is appreciated and becoming quite the norm. To a healthier world!

If someone asked me what I did for a living, I would tell them the truth, I am an interior designer and a faux finisher. If someone asked me what am I passionate about, I would tell them about my company Four Winds Healthy Home. After years of feeling sick and tired around traditional cleaning chemicals I decided it was enough. Sure, in my home for my personal household cleaning over the counter quality products were fine. But for carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning, there was nothing out there that was accessible, effective and powerful enough for children, dogs stains, cat stains etc. So I started this company so the truly effective green cleaning components were available to everyone. Excellent plant based cleaning agents do not need a chemical boost. There are shades of greenness and the products we use are the greenest. Read the labels always, and if you can not pronounce it easily, it most likely chemical content that should not be present. To a greener future.
