Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale

The Four Seasons is such a lovely resort! We stayed here last month and really enjoyed our experience. The rooms are beautifully appointed with amazing views of the mountains. The service was excellent and just what you would expect from a Four Seasons property. I enjoyed an amazing yoga class in the studio, the bars and restaurants onsite and the hike of Pinnacle Peak as well that can be accessed from a trail from the resort. We will definitely be back for another escape from the city!

Wow! I can be fussy when it comes to hotels. Even stayed at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel and you couldn’t pay me to go back there but this day was spectacular. From The breathtaking views to the quaint way the rooms are separate little adobes in the mountain I couldn’t have been happier. I was tickled with our service which was stellar. Everybody was so kind and helpful and really seemed to enjoy their jobs. The food was amazing and never disappointed. It was fresh, hot, and super tasty. The bath products are all L’occitan, my skin was soft and smooth and I smelled fantastic every day! The grounds were well manicured and kept clean on a daily basis. Constant maintenance and upkeep were witnessed everywhere I looked. Thank you Four seasons Scottsdale for a wonderful stay, I will be back!

We are on our 4^th night and it’s been a great place to stay. The grounds are unique and well kept as you would expect. Quiet and secluded location. The rooms are very nice and spacious. The smell and ambiance of the outdoor wood fire places along the pathways really add a nice touch while walking around. We ate at Proof and Talavera and both were excellent. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

If you have ever been to Four Seasons Maui, imagine the opposite — that’s this place. The absolute LAMEST adult pool I have ever seen. A tiny little thing, literally 3 FEET from the kids pool! And the kids pool water is the waterfall into the adult pool. Urine, anyone? So gross! No bar at the adults pool, only waiter service. Just children’s screams, EXTREMELY crammed seating and a tiny pool.
The restaurants leave a lot to be desired. Extremely meat-​heavy and greasy for a hot locale. Take an über to Whole Foods, about 15 minutes away, and stock up on your own healthy goodies.
I’m bummed to be staying here for 3 nights… Ugh.

You get what you pay for. I had a fabulous time here. Quiet and peaceful. the service is great. there is also a hiking trail which is great. clean pool. One thing is that there are bugs and lizards everywhere but you cant help that i guess… i mean it is the dessert haha
OH and make sure you reserve a spa/​massage appointment because it is worth every penny!!!

Beautiful, spacious rooms overlooking the mountains. Top notch service. Meals were fabulous. Gorgeous sunsets which can be seen from your room and all the restaurants. Nice quiet retreat where you are treated like royalty.

When patients ask me «what kind of bed or pillows would you recommend?»
Answer: «the four seasons bed with their 4 plush goosedown pillows of course!»

This is where the bushwood elite roam. Make sure to take out a second mortgage if you go to the bar but it’s worth every arm and leg.
In all seriousness it is a little pricey but the staff is phenomenal and ensure every memory is one that lasts. Amazing food and drinks and scenery.

This place is incredible! Rooms were beautiful, spacious, all with outdoor patios. The breakfast
menu at Proof (along with their Happy Hour pretzel bites — don’t even get me started on those babies) spoke true to the location. We had dinner at Talavera and were blown away by the service. Juan, hailing from South Africa, was our waiter and despite a bit of delay on his part due to business volumes, apologized and made sure to check in with us to ensure an enjoyable meal. The personalized menus (celebrating an anniversary with friends) made all the difference. Pool side service was stellar and I loved the adult pool being separate from the regular pool, even though we did not use the adult pool. Spa is a little small but holy moly, the grounds were beautiful and I seriously cannot wait to go back!

I love the resort, so beautiful with great staff!!! If anyone needs a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of life, this is the place.

I was worried at first because there were a couple weddings going on while we were there, but they didn’t interfere with anything. And, overall, the staff, restaurants, room, pool, and almost everything seemed perfect.
I did have one complaint, there didn’t seem to be an exhaust fan or window in the toilet room in the bathroom. Since it’s physically in the middle of the suite, it seemed odd, and I didn’t even think that was possible with building codes. There seemed to be no exhaust ventilation to the toilet room at all. I asked some other guests if they had the same issue in their room, and they said yes.
Based on the bathroom issue alone, I wouldn’t really pick this as the place to stay. And would avoid it if I was sharing the room with someone.
Other than that, there wasn’t anything else to complain about.

Phenomenal. As good as it gets. Outstanding. I stayed here this past weekend for a little «staycation» and did not want to leave. Yes, it is far out there and not close to much else, but guess what? You don’t have to leave! And you shouldn’t! They have the most incredible food — all of their on-​site restaurants are wonderful. The service is top notch. Every single staff person I encountered, whether it was the pool attendant, maid, bartender, server, spa staff, was OVER THE TOP helpful, friendly, efficient. I really appreciated that. The property is small and walkable, yet you can’t hear your neighbors in the casita next to you. I went to the spa for a massage on Saturday and mani/​pedi on Sunday (rough life) and both experiences were truly amazing. They always take that extra step to make you feel special and remind you that you are at a five star resort.
I will be back, that’s for sure. Thanks for spoiling me this weekend!

My wife and I came to Scottsdale for our «babymoon». We might have had a better time if we’d spent the entire stay at the pool, but unseasonably cold weather forced us to explore the other amenities.
PROS
–Pool was very nice, good views of the surrounding hills, good size, plenty of chairs, great service from the pool staff.
–Nearby Pinnacle Peak Park is a great hike for any skill level.
–Nice room, attentive housekeeping (except for cobwebs on bathroom light fixtures).
–My wife liked Talavera (me not so much)
CONS
–Resort is far away from anything of interest (except the very nice Pinnacle Peak Park). And the trail to it is just a muddy drainage ditch.
–Restaurants are not great, you’re better off going off-​property.
Something which might be misleading to someone unfamiliar with the Scottsdale area is that Scottsdale is very large (area-​wise), and this resort is on the very northern edge of the city. To get to downtown Scottsdale (or any other Phoenix area attraction) is at least a 40 minute drive. Which might explain why when my wife asked the concierge for a breakfast recommendation his only response was Proof, she asked if there was anything else and he said room service (from Proof). However, we found several nice restaurants about 15 – 20 minutes away.
Which brings me to the resort restaurants, our first night we went to Proof for dinner. The restaurant was three quarters empty, but that didn’t help the service any. It took 30 minutes for an appetizer to come out and another 15 – 20 minutes for the entrees. A few days later we gave Proof another chance for breakfast. Fortunately, we were the first ones there because we got there at 7am, so the service was better. Both times the food was fine. We went a third time just to get some ice cream to-​go. Despite it being the middle of the afternoon with no one except some cardplaying old ladies in the restaurant it took fifteen minutes just to get the chef to come out to scoop the ice cream (apparently the waiter/​hostess doesn’t know how).
We also went to a dinner at the fancier Talavera. For some reason we had two waiters (one to «back up» the other), which meant that we had our drink and dessert orders taken twice. Despite taking it twice they still brought me the wrong beer. They also got my wife’s order wrong, she wanted the snap pea risotto, she got the snap pea soup… they did make it right and she really enjoyed her food. My steak was so-​so.
As for the other things to do… there’s not much. The nearby Pinnacle Peak Park is very nice and is the only thing in walking distance. But the trail that the resort boasts leads right to the park is nothing more than a drainage ditch which was muddy when we walked through it. One night there was an event with someone with a telescope out to view stars/​planets which was nice. As for the rest, we had to make the long drive to Phoenix/​Scottsdale downtown to find something to do.
As a special treat for the babymoon we went to the spa for a couples’ massage. This was my first time at a spa for a massage, I thought it was pretty good. My wife, who goes to spas much more often, was not impressed. She had a bit of a tension headache and the masseuse offered a special treatment for that, but about 30 minutes after we left the spa her headache was worse than before.
The room was nice and spacious, though a bit of a walk from the lobby. The mini-​fridge is packed full of crap they want to sell you, so there’s no room to put a bottle of water to chill… but who wants cold water in the desert anyway?

PROOF — the fun restaurant with shuffleboard
and the most amazing food…
TALAVERA — the sophisticated dining room with the most amazing food…
SAGUARO BLOSSOM — the patio on the pool with the most amazing food…
OR
ONYX LOUNGE — the best place to be on a balmy evening… I vote for ONYX. As the food is BEYOND amazing. Let me paint a picture:
Sit down at dusk, blackberry mojito in hand (not on the menu but ask for it) enjoying beef carpaccio with crispy hard boiled eggs and capers. All I can tell you is you MUST order this dish of you love rare beef. This is hands
down THE BEST beef carpaccio I’ve ever tasted.
Now to the burger. WOW. I devoured the short rib burger and hand cut fries. When you are taking in the view and your 2^nd blackberry mojito, it doesn’t get any better than this folks.

Great resort, location, grounds, clean, well groomed and looked after. Bit far out however not too bad but surprisingly busy roads all the time.

Front desk
Took quite a while to check in and out as they were busy but across room 2 people on concierge desk doing nothing, seems they should be helping out at peak times.
We asked for a late checkout at 3pm so could have lunch and a massage but were told they were fully booked so could only do 1:30, but if we wanted to pay for a half day we could stay until 5pm I think, how can that be possible if fully booked, seemed like a con? We checked out at 1:30 and skipped massage and ate elsewhere.

Poor signs so difficult to find your way around especially at night and we have quite good sense of direction. Slightly annoying when walking to/​from our room we were always coming across staff racing around on golf carts, the path ways should be wider.

Room 1113 was really nice but dated, spacious and well laid out, we had requested an extra fridge so we could keep plenty of water and snacks cold and that worked out very well. Comfortable bed, nice balcony and view and quiet away from pool and on top floor, cost extra but well worth it. Bathroom was great although water pressure in shower was poor. Nice towels, although we had requested extras that weren’t there. Old coffee machine that needed replacing as stale taste.

Housekeeping was good but didn’t replenish used toiletries nor did they empty /​clean ice bucket and balcony window was left unlocked one day.

The Spa was difficult to find, dated with no hot tub but massage was reasonable, not up to what we would expect of a four season resort and spa? Gym was OK, bit small with limited number of old machines with small TV’s with very limited channels but clean and well looked after.

Tennis worked out great each morning, nice courts although a bit sandy. The local pro was teaching kids on other court and he seemed really nice.

We didn’t use any of the dining facilities but as breakfast was included in our package chose to have that delivered to our room so we had flexibility with schedule after playing tennis. This worked out great with eating on our balcony although the food was rather mediocre. The server who was Czech was super nice and helpful and noticed we didn’t have any toast (seriously we had to ask for toast with our eggs for breakfast) so offered and went to get some for us, next day we explicitly asked for it.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly, whatever we asked for was done very promptly and even when we left something in the car we needed they went and brought it back for us straight away. But we did have to make more requests than should have been necessary and several time calls got diverted to concierge to follow up with other departments.

Surprisingly quite a lot of kids and not really well behaved, maybe because this was a school break and we were unlucky, didn’t expect this in such a resort.

Nice to have rooms distributed around with guest laundry and more importantly ice machines.

Great location to get easy access to McDowell Sonoran reserve, we did Toms Thumb loop trail of about 12 miles which was great. Next morning after tennis with some time to kill before checking out we did pinnacle peak trail straight from the hotel which wasn’t so good and real busy but some exercise better than sitting by the pool with screaming kids.

WIFI was poor most everywhere, just real slow so trying to share pictures with friends about the amazing place we were staying at was tedious at best. When we mentioned this at checkout we were told that in that case we should have paid extra for the premium service, seriously we didn’t want to run real time video conferencing just share some pictures on facebook so at $$$$ a night we have to pay extra for useable WIFI, unacceptable virtually anywhere let along in USA.

Value for money very poor, after the room valet parking and most things were excessively expensive.

Overall it doesn’t live up to the 4 seasons standard and while we could live with the dated facilities to have the nice room and service but not at this price point, next time on similar trip we will stay elsewhere.

We spent our 25^th anniversary weekend at the resort and enjoyed it all. The concierge arranged to have mountain bikes delivered for our stay. You can ride from the resort to the browns ranch or McDowell state park. Both are great if you are looking for smooth single track. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, helpful and professional. Food and beverage is expensive which you expect. They went to great lengths to make our anniversary special. We will be back.

It was a decent experience, much of what you would expect from a Four Seasons Resort.
The positives:

The negatives:
–The restaurant Talavera (for the gory details, see my other review)
–The spa had to be the SMALLEST I have ever seen. Literally, the locker-​room for the men was the size of a closet. It felt incredibly cramped and not relaxing.
–We ordered room service twice (from the supposed 20 minute speedy delivery menu). While the food was of high quality, both times it took over 40 minutes to receive the food.
Four Seasons, you need to step up your game!

Ever been intimated by a girl your boyfriend never dated?
I spent days with said girl and learned more about him than in my entire time dating said boyfriend.
Yeah, if I had balls they would be shriveled right about now.
Thank the Heavens for down time at Troon North. Long days and night with my boyfriends pretty.cough. «friend» really takes a toll. Coming home to our suite made for those trying times completely palatable. And if that’s not enough, the spa was there to moisten my panties.
TMI?

Whether you are on a vacation or a staycation, if you have the opportunity you really should experience this Four Seasons.
From the moment that you exit the car until the second that you check out, the service is impeccable. The casitas are spacious, luxurious and well appointed. The L’Occitane toiletries, the double sinks in the bathroom, the fireplace in the sitting area and the comfortable chaise lounges on the private patio overlooking the fabulous grounds are some of the details which elevate this resort to something special.
Our casita was about an 8 – 10 minute walk to the lobby and a further 5 – 10 minute walk from the lobby to the self park area (they have valet parking but I don’t like waiting for the car to be brought around — (I know, major WPP, feel free to eyeroll), but I hardly ever got to experience any complete walks because they have staff running the property constantly in golf carts offering up rides.
If you like the hustle and bustle of town, you might not appreciate the quiet solitude of this resort. For our nightlife on the first night we stood outside our casita and watched an electrical storm off in the distance with Pinnacle Peak as the backdrop. Not everyones idea of excitement but that is how we roll.
Pretty much my only complaint is that the resort limits each room to two complimentary wifi connections before they start up-​charging. Between my husband and I we travel with 5 devices requiring wifi so we had to make a Sophie’s choice about what to connect. On principle I refuse to pay for something that even Starbucks gives away for free.

My husband and I have been staying at Four Seasons Scottsdale nearly every August to celebrate our anniversary for the last 10 years. Each and every time we leave happy, relaxed, and wanting to come back. We love spending time at the incredible adult pool. I must mention the wonderful service we’ve received from the lovely Tara. She made sure our time at the pool was perfect and most enjoyable.
Proof is awesome. We absolutely love the re-​branding of the old Crescent Moon. The oatmeal, yogurt parfait, and biscuits and gravy were standouts! We will miss the Chop and Pop salad when we’re back home. And the B.L.A.T.T. sandwich was most enjoyable and crave worthy. Oh, and dessert in the evening is just perfect. My only criticism is that the young staff may need a tiny bit more training.
This last visit, our room over looked the giant rock mound behind the property. The peaceful privacy our balcony afforded us was great for watching the thunderstorms roll in. One evening, after a heavy rain fall, there was a knock at the door. It was an employee making sure we were ok and hadn’t taken in water during the storm. Loved that!
