I took a coat into their shop to be cleaned. The coat is Thinsulate with an attached hood, trimmed with fox fur, as are the cuffs. I was told it would be ready in one month. I called at the end of the month and was told it was in the vault and not accessible that day. I called again and as told they were trying to locate it. I called again and was told not to bother them and that they would call me when it was ready. Yep — I called again and was told it was in «Kentucky»??? and they would have it in a few days. Finally they did call and said it was there. I went to the shop. my coat was bagged and I paid the $ 80.00. When I got home I removed the bag and realized the coat had not been cleaned. I was leaving the country the next day and couldn’t make the 50 mile round trip to go back. When I called I got the usual nasty reception and was told it had to have been cleaned because they had the receipt from «Kentucky». They said to photograph the soiled areas and e-mail the pictures to them, which I did. After that I never heard another word from them. I didn’t call them when I returned from my trip because I felt it would have been useless — actually I think they are useless. My mistake, besides going there, was not to have examined the coat before I left the shop — but it never occurred to me that the work wouldn’t have been done.

I am amazed although maybe I should not be that Evans is the only furrier in Arizona. I am lucky that Evans is located in Phoenix and can provide the services expected of a furrier.
