I didn’t get past the phone call. It was such a hassle to talk to them I gave up and will go elsewhere.

I had been in the ER in February and needed to see a new gastrointestinal Doctor. I found Dr. Zitomers office and had been scheduled with PA Noelle Daniels. During my visit, Noelle was helpful and knowledgeable and even had Dr. Zitomer come in for the visit since my situation was quite rare and complicated. After months passed, I was hospitalized for a few days and was told that following my release, I needed to see Dr. Zitomer asap. Again, I could only get in with Noelle who was just as helpful as she was at the first appointment and got me scheduled for my colonoscopy with Dr. Zitomer. I had the procedure done, where the people were kind, the facility was clean, and Dr. Zitomer had a great bed side manner (and calmed my nerves before). And the procedure was quick and painless (and I didn’t remember a thing). They even called to check and see how I was doing the next day. I would give him 5 stars alone for how great of a doctor he is and the nurse & staff at his outpatient facility the same.
The ONLY reason I am giving this office 4 stars is because after I was hospitalized, and had made an appointment, I called the office again to ask a few basic questions. When I did so, I spoke with a receptionist by the name of Mindy, who was so rude, I couldn’t believe how she was speaking to me. Every time I asked a question she cut me off, didn’t let me speak and had such a condescending tone. It was so bad that when I was on the phone with her I got to the point where I asked her name (she got very sassy and spelt it out for me, without me asking her to) and when I asked if there was an office manager, she had said ‘no’ but that there was someone next to her listening to the conversation and then put me on hold. I just hung up and was so frustrated (I had just been released out of the hospital the day before and was still very ill), that I was in tears and was so very close to canceling my appointment because of her behavior and unprofessionalism. She made me so uncomfortable that I was uneasy even going to the appointment. I was even going to call and see if they recorded the conversations over the phone but decided I didn’t want to spend another ounce of energy on it (I had already put too much energy into her behavior and just wanted to focus on my health). BUT thank god I just stuck it through because everyone else at the office was kind and the doctor is wonderful along with PA Noelle.

When I called to make an appointment for a colonoscopy I was told my insurance would not cover the procedure. I had already checked and my insurance covers 100% of the procedure. When I informed the «Insurance Specialist», Mindy, she was extremely rude and condescending, insisting that she had 15 years experience and she knew I wasn’t covered. I spoke to the office manager, Diane, who promised to look into it and get right back to me. When we hung up I called my insurance company who called Diane while I was on hold and informed her I was 100% covered for the colonoscopy. I didn’t hear back from Diane for 10 days and when I did she was equally condescending and unappologetic. When I asked her why it took ten days to get back to me she said it was «just one of those things». If this is how the office works I have no confidence in the Dr’s. So I Googled each of them individually and found enough to make up my mind that I will find another practice. I highly reccomend doing your homework on whats covered by your insurance and the backgrounds of those in this practice.

Dr jones is a compassionate and understanding professional, for months I was being told all of my symptoms were gastrointestinal, so after several gastroenterologist and pcps I went to him and he tested me for things well beyond gastro issues and while he did not find out what was going on, he at least did enough testing to find out it has nothing to do with my gastrointestinal system and that made me feel much better. I am still in search of what it could be, but at least I know what it is not because of him. Highly recommend!!!

Dr Kozi is very respectful and skilled. Have used him a few times now and recommend him highly. The facilities are first class and the staff is very accommodating.

I am proud to give Dr Jones and the staff at Digestive Health Specialists their first Unilocal review. I just can’t believe they haven’t had any other reviews yet. This office was FIVE STARS all the way! The front desk staff, the nurses, and Dr. Jones all made me feel at ease, answered all of my questions, were very understanding, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I went in for a flexible sigmoidoscopy and a colonoscopy. Dr. Jones and the staff were a consummate professionals on each visit. I appreciated the preparation and post procedure phone calls. When I need another colonoscopy in five years I will be sure to come back to this office and I recommend you do the same!
