Diana A Batoon, DMD

I have been going to Dr. Batoon since 2008 or maybe earlier, she had a different location at the time. I find the Dr. very compassionate and great at explaining procedures and why they are needed. I am happy having her as my dentist, and think the world of my hygienist Candace.
If I had one issue it would be that there is always a different front desk person and I have to question billing. Other than this I feel I always rectify what I feel is an issue w/​billing with my insurance company and her dental practice.

Read the other review… he nailed it on the head. Constantly felt like I was being taken for a ride and informed of all of this issues I had no idea about (ie pressed to buy expensive products and services)… um, is this a mechanic or a dentist? I was told I had all these reasons to be concerned, to do this and buy that. i finally smartened up and went to another dentist that was appalled at all of their assessments and ‘treatment plans’… a new dentist and thorough cleaning after, I was told to come in back in 6 months for my next cleaning. No dentist before or after them ever claimed so many issues about dental health.

I found this dentist’s incessant attempts at trying to sell me cosmetic dental products and/​or procedures very disturbing. I have no idea how many times I firmly stated, «NO, I just want to take care of this sore tooth», but I will assure you it was MANY. My experience was much more like dealing with a sleazy, won’t-take-no-for-an-answer salesman than a health care professional. I don’t know what kind of professional standards the American Dental Association requires of their licensees, but I have a good feeling her conduct is at odds with their code of conduct.
My sore tooth turned out to be a matter of a root canal, and so unfortunately I had to go back several more times after the initial visit. It was not without complications and I was very much taken aback when she became visibly upset (raised her voice at her assistant, accused me of lying) because of having to deal with it.
At completion of the ordeal, I had a root canal with a crown (which was never positioned right and had to be replaced a year later) and nothing but disgust for «Doctor» Batoon.

I hate to say it, but I feel like this dentist was kind of bending me over for money. The office and staff were nice, but I kept getting asked to spend money on all kinds of treatments, and felt like I was constantly saying no. I didn’t like that Dr. Batoon is trying to deal arbonne products in addition to her dental practice, and that she was touching my face and asking about my acne problems during a dental exam and trying to get my to purchase acne cleansers. What really has me upset is that she did that whole «numbers test» on my gums and kept saying that I had «3,4’s and 5’s» and that I had gingivitis. I was told I needed to buy a special mouthwash and possibly have a deep cleaning… and that I needed to make another appointment within the next few months instead of 6 months. So, I did that and came back just to be told that my teeth were worse than the last time I came in, which I couldn’t even believe because I had done everything that she said. Well, some months later I have moved and go to see a different dentist and somehow my gums are fine, I have no gingivitis and my teeth look great. The «numbers» are all 1’s 2’s and 3’s and nobody is trying to give me a bunch of products. So, that makes me come to the conclusion that Dr. Batoon either has no idea what she is doing or is deliberately telling patients false things in order to get more money out of them. I would not go back here and would not recommend this dentist!
