History

Established in 2006.

Dr. Richard Calabrese is a 1994 graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in Ohio, where he earned top honors and graduated first in his class. He has also received advanced training in cosmetic and restorative dentistry at internationally recognized institutions, including dental implant placement and restoration from the Misch International Implant Institute. In 2006, Dr. Calabrese was awarded Fellow status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and is one of only six dentists in the Scottsdale area to hold this prestigious honor. The culmination of this experience has placed him at the forefront of implant dentistry and allowed him to be recognized as one of «The Best Dentists in America» in 2006 and 2007.

While in Ohio, Dr. Calabrese worked with Sea World’s Head Veterinarian and animal trainers to treat dental disease in their animal population, especially periodontal disease in Sea Lions. He also developed preventive procedures to assist in the on-​going maintenance of Killer whale dental problems. Dr. Calabrese served as staff dentist for «stars» such as «Shamu the Killer Whale» and «Tony the Sea Lion» and has stories which usually get smiles from his smaller patients.

In his spare time, Dr. Calabrese enjoys mountain biking, restoring cars and spending time with his wife, Sue and son, Kevin.
