Complete Vacuum Service

I just called to get a price quote on vacuum repair for my dyson animal. The gentleman who answered the phone sounded inebriated and could barely hold a conversation. When I asked for a price quote, he said what kind of place is this. Do you think we take care of vacuum’s. I thanked him for being kind on the phone and he hung up on me.

We dropped our vacuum off at Complete Vacuum Service to repair our vacuum. The vacuum was still partially functional; only the carpet attachments did not work. Upon asking for an estimate, the serviceman told us he could not do so because he didn’t know what was wrong with it. We then left the vacuum to be inspected by the serviceman to determine the problem. We then did not hear from the man until the repairs where completed, or so we are told. He is now holding our vacuum hostage until we pay him a price no one had agreed upon. He even claims he’ll just «throw it out», if we do not pay. He is asking $ 112 for the service, which is not a price we were ever willing to accept, as it is likely not even worth that fixed. Furthermore, since the vacuum was already partially functional, the repair could only restore partial value in the vacuum. This man also keeps a very large stock of «unclaimed» vacuums. I suspect, and this should have been a warning to us, that this is his standard procedure, and he simply waits for owners to give up on their old machine and he sells them as refurbished and used.
