History

Established in 1974.

Chaparral Aquatic Center was first built in August of 1974 and was renovated in 1998. The pool is nestled in a neighborhood between Eldorado and Cactus Pools and is one of the only municipal «free form» pools in the state. The pool resembles a lake front in shape, with a beach-like, zero-depth entry on one end. The shallow end is comprised of various interactive water features including a rain drop, wall of water, and fountain. The main pool section consists of a shallow wading area, as well as 10 lap lanes and a diving well with a 1 meter board. Chaparral Pool is home to the nationally recognized City of Scottsdale event Mighty Mud Mania. Chaparral pool is open in June and July for learn to swim lessons, recreational teams, lap swimming, and limited public swimming.
