These guys are super helpful and bonus cool points for staying open late to change my bike tires after hours.

Brought my sons bike in after trying to put tires on ourselves. They put the tires on free of charge. Nice folks. They have my bicycle business for life.

Great bike shop, lots of inventory to choose from and they give you one-​on-​one personalized service to find exactly the right bike for you. They didn’t have exactly what I wanted in stock on the floor so they built my bike in a half an hour and then spent time letting me ride it and tweaking it until it was perfect. Can’t wait to hit the trails!

Great store with a huge selection of bikes and just about anything else bike related. I just went here to get an idea for what size bike I should be shopping for. Employees were helpful and asked if I had any questions, but weren’t pushy or pressuring me into any sales. Very friendly and easy to talk to. I’ll probably be coming back here if I need repairs or any parts or accessories in the future. Thanks Bicycles of Phoenix!

Great place. Picked up a higher end bike at a great price. Service is excellent and I absolutely dig the lifetime adjustments. This place is not quite close to my house but it’s worth the drive. Highly recommended especially if you’re a drummer!

These guys were a life saver. Flew in for Ironman Arizona, and had my bike checked in the cargo hold. Somehow, the baggage handlers or TSA must have damaged my front dérailleur. It’s Friday before the race, and all the bike shops around Tempe are swamped. Found a listing for Bicycles of Phoenix, and ventured a little away from the race site, and I’m so glad I did. The guys in the shop were cool, easy going, very accommodating, and helpful. They had me fixed up in a short time and helped ease my mind for the race. Wish all bike shops were as open and inviting. As some may know, some local bike shops can be a little pretentious, and snobby if you are not buying their high end gear or spending a lot of money in their shop. Bicycles of Phoenix aren’t those kind of guys. Thanks.

I gotta say I was a little intimidated by the vast selection here but after speaking with Joe he guided me in the perfect direction and I could not be happier. I really like that they do a quick tune on each bike before you take it for spin. My fiancé wasn’t very comfortable before on a regular cruiser and she tried out one of the fat tired cruisers and now she is a believer! And… The high end inventory is now marked down considerably we compared a few other shops and online prices but because the service warranty that they have it was a no brainer to buy from Joe. The other thing that’s cool is that these guys ride, a lot. Awesome stories if you catch them when they aren’t too busy. We came in and test drove 2 times before buying and Joe remembered our names. That’s pretty cool! Now we have new bike friends! Strongly recommend!

These guys are friendly and make you feel comfortable and you don’t need to be a gearhead to hang there… don’t be afraid to ask the «dump question.» Have always been quick in repairs and always fair. They’ve also got a great lineup of bikes, from the «first bike» to the, «oh, I don’t have a budget in mind, what have you got.» The entire staff is excellent, I pass 3 other shops to bring my bikes to these guys! Regarding some of the negative reviews I’ve read, continually referring to the past owner and how great they were… there’s generally a reason why they no longer own the business, perhaps like the cost of giving lifetime tuneups — enough said. Regarding wanting something fixed, like a creek… I take my bikes to pros because I don’t have the time, tools and frequently knowledge to pinpoint where a problem is — that’s why I pay pros. If I’ve ever had a situation where we think we go the creak, click, clang gone and it’s still there, they’ve always taken care of me to make sure it’s tracked down and solved. Again, be realistic about whomever you do biz with… and these guys are way better than that.

I bought tires to go tubeless, but I couldn’t get the tires to seat on the rims because I didn’t have an air compressor. Took my wheels in and Jason offered to put in the tire sealant and mount the tires for no charge while I waited! They weren’t the easiest tires/​rims to seat either. He was very helpful and gave great advice for managing the tires going forward. My wife went in there recently and had a great service experience as well.

Our family went in to check out some bikes. I hadn’t ridden a bike in over 15 years. They were so helpful in finding what I was comfortable riding and what was in our price range. We tested out quite a few bikes between the five of us and walked away with 3 bikes. Great service and very helpful in finding what the customer wants! Thanks BOP!

This place used to be great when Andy owned it but the new ownership stinks. It appears to be run by a bunch of hipsters that are more interested in selling you parts and/​or service than earning your business. I recently took one of my bikes in for a wheel true and to have them look at a creak in the bottom bracket. The guy quoted me $ 60 to overhaul the bottom bracket which would basically consist of them taking it apart, repacking the bearings and then re-​assembling. No thanks, I will do it myself and save my $ 60. As for the wheel true, they charge $ 20 PER wheel and needed the bike for 4 days to have it done. I ended up only ended up having 1 wheel trued and the bike still had to stay there for 4 days for the measly 10 minute task to be completed. I remember back when Andy owned it he would do a wheel true while you waited to get you back out on the road and most times wouldn’t even charge you. I guess its time to look for a new LBS to give my business too, BOP needs a revamp of business practices if you ask me.

Would not recommended. These guys are just a bunch of salesmen trying to make a dollar. I listened to everything the salesman had to tell me knowing that he was a professional. After riding with a group of friends that have been riding for a while they told me the bike was way too small. I brought the bike back in days later after only riding it once to see if they would exchange the bike for a larger size, they said that was the last one they had in stock and they couldn’t help me out in any way. I was told once I left the store with the bike I bought it and it was mine. So I now have a $ 3500 bike that is way too small for me to ride. I told other friends how great the store was the great price that the guy on the bike and suggest that they check it out. Unfortunately my friend that purchased from the same bike company is going through similar issues. After doing further research the bike that I got for a great deal was not a good deal whatsoever. So I later found out they were overpriced, completely unhelpful, very unprofessional, didn’t stand behind their return policy. I really don’t think I have anything good to say about this bike shop.

This place used to be the perfect shop. I was told if I bought my bike there I’d get lifetime service. That was the first thing to change.
The last 3 times I went in to make substantial purchases I also got charged for every minor install or labor. Ok, that’s alright, at least they’re courteous, right? Well, they used to be.
I’ve been getting bait and switched on prices and today one of the younger guys tells the one working on my bike «don’t worry I’ll get this guy out of here» and he proceeds to start telling me all the additional problems my bike developed.
Oh well. There’ll be another shop to trust on Unilocal somewhere — clearly not here.

Great service! Bought a 2″ Yakima bike rack from these guys last week, and they were excellent! Very knowledgable, helpful, and communicative while the rack was being special ordered for my car. They even put it together and gave me a quick tutorial on how to use it, load it, and dismantle it. A+! Thank you for great customer service. I’ll be back.

What can I say about the amazing experience at this shop!
First, as a new cyclist, it can be intimidating approaching a sport/​hobby that comes with a hefty price tag. However, the staff was very friendly, greeted me, and did not try to immediately shove a pricy bike down my throat.
Adrian, a BOP worker, helped me out and answered all of my questions regarding different bikes and their respective components. Ultimately, I picked a bike that I felt was within my price range and one which had the goods I was looking for. I was amazed that Adrian would not try and up-​sell me into something that was not for me. In fact, he entertained my final pick and suggested a similar model, from the same brand, that was about $ 500 less. Talk about taking confidence in that they genuinely care that you are buying a product that truly fits you!
Joe and Laura (owners) definitely have a great thing going on with BOP. After making my selection and waiting for my bike to get adjusted, they made conversation with me and made me feel relaxed and at home. Not once did I feel pressured to buy something that wasn’t «me.»
In closing, this is a great place to buy a bike. It truly is a shop with the perfect mix of products and genuine customer service and care. I am happy to say I am a new BOP customer.

I first came to Bicycles of Phoenix about two weeks ago to buy a helmet. I’m just getting back into riding a bike, so needed a better helmet than the one I bought 20 years ago. The staff at Bicycles of Phoenix helped me choose a perfect helmet. I tried on 4 or 5 and the knowledgeable staff checked the fit on each one.
Then I took my first longer distance ride and realized my bike need some new tires and a few adjustments. I dropped my bike off on Sunday at 11:30. Again, the staff took their time and explained what my bike needed in the way of tires. I agreed to have the tires replaced, heavy duty tubes installed and slime as well. I had the brakes adjusted and new grips and kickstand installed. Although they told me it would be done on Monday, they called at 2:30 to say it was ready to go!
When I picked up the bike, they told me that I didn’t need the heavy duty tubes or slime due to the type of tire I had chosen. This tire had a free tube replacement for 5 years and was an extra thick tire. Now, they could have charged me for the upgrades, and I wouldn’t have known the difference, but they didn’t.
I love supporting small locally owned businesses, and couldn’t be happier with the customer attention at Bicycles of Phoenix. Their prices are reasonable and the service was top notch. Thanks!

Great Bike Shop and I do not even live here. Visiting a friend and needed a part. Reviewed them on Unilocal and glad I stop by. I recently purchased a mountain bike where I live and I wish I bought it at BOP. He shared with me a ton of useful info about my bike and settings. He was going to let me have the part for free! I ended up buying a bag and water bottle. He took the time to show me my bike that I didn’t even purchase from them. There selection was great. Buy your bike from here. It is far and few between you get honest customer service like that anymore.

Tucked behind, up & in from the Red Lobster on the E. side of PV Mall you’ll find Bicycles of Phoenix (BOP), one of the largest & best bike shops I’ve ever been in. They have a huge selection of in-​stock bikes & accessories. I found the white replacement grips for my daughter’s pink & white beach cruiser that I couldn’t find elsewhere (my first time in the shop). The only problem was that they were much NICER than my grips (plus a little pricey), but they fit the bill so I bit the bullet.
When the hub on my Electra beach cruiser went out recently, they had it repaired quickly for a reasonable price. Recently, I’ve shopped BOP for a beach cruiser for my wife and a BMX bike for my son, but haven’t bought. I find the prices high, but maybe I’m just cheap. I won’t pay $ 300-​$ 400+ for a recreational bike (cruiser or BMX style). And the few that were less just didn’t cut it.
The selection is great, the staff is friendly & helpful. The prices are what I’d classify as «high retail» — and I’m a bargain hunter. So if you don’t mind that, BOP is a fantastic place to buy a bike. Plus, you’ll probably find that accessory or part you’re looking for there too.
