Beneficial Beans is the social enterprise created by the Southwest Autism Resource and Research Center. We train adults with autism to enter the work force through Beneficial Beans Café internships. Beneficial Beans encompasses the café, retail coffee, and an organic garden.

History

Established in 2012.

Beneficial Beans was created as a way to offer clients of SARRC an opportunity to gain real life work experience to better prepare them for entering the work force.

Oh my goodness, where do I even begin with this fabulous coffee shop?! Not only do they have DELICIOUS coffee, but all of the proceeds go to adults with Autism. They are located in the Scottsdale Civic Center Library and trust me, it is totally worth stopping in. I guarantee you will be greeted with a smile and hey, who doesn’t love coffee with a purpose?! I had their peppermint mocha with an extra shot of espresso {busy day, what can I say?!}. It was delicious and I loved working from here for a few hours. They even have salads, bagels, and munchies; some of which come from Arcadia Farms. Yum! I can’t wait to come back and work from here again soon! Thank you for being so amazing!

Local, delicious and supporting a great cause. How could you not support this little shop? Located inside the Civic Center Library, Beneficial Beans is a local coffee shop that benefits Adults with Autism. Not only do their proceeds help them cause but they also employee adults with autism in order to help them. The owner is very kind and is filled with cheer. But besides the fact that this supports a great cause, the coffee is also excellent! It’s locally made along with the pastries which are locally made as well. It’s actually some of the best coffee I’ve had! So next time you’re in the mood for coffee, visit the Civic Center Library!
