$ 200 taken from $ 500 Security Deposit — stated as an Exit Clean Fee
I arranged this rental for my immediate family following the unexpected passing of my husband over the Christmas Holidays. I contacted a sales agent through the VRBO email link. The sales agent directed me to Arizona Vacation Rentals
Scottsdale Vacation Home listing #2620 which is the same house listed here on VRBO as #98 014.
The AZ Vacation Rentals website includes a FAQ’s tab which addresses expectations for cleaning responsibilities which I have included here.
«Do I have to clean the home before departing?
All homeowners are required to maintain contracts with professional cleaning companies. After you depart the home, the housekeepers will arrive to clean. The Homeowners may charge additional cleaning fees if the property requires more than 4 hours cleaning after you depart. The exact amount any individual homeowner may charge for excessive cleaning will range between $ 50 -$ 100 per hour for each additional hour of cleaning required. The exact per hour charge for excessive cleaning will be listed in the agreement you reach with the homeowner. You will also be asked to load the dishwasher and washing machine with a load of towels upon departure.»
Another email that I received regarding this rental was from
and it also discussed cleaning expectations as stated: «EXAMPLE 4: Housekeepers will clean the home prior to arrival and after you depart. The housekeeping company may charge you an excessive cleaning fee if it takes more than 4 hours to clean the home. To avoid this extra cleaning charge, follow the check-​out sheet instructions provided in the property manual. Contact the housekeeping vendor directly to arrange and pay for special cleanings. (Vendor contact information is in the property manual) «
This home was left in Excellent Condition. Yet an unexpected Exit Clean Fee of $ 200 was taken from my $ 500 security deposit. I received a $ 300 refund check from National Equity Consultants along with a letter that stating «By negotiating this check you agree to accept the amount tendered as full payment, and hereby release any and all claims against the landlord and the landlord’s agents and affiliates for any matter related to your stay at the property including, but not limited to, this net return of funds.» I have not cashed this check as of yet.
I have continued to communicate with this company through compliance at National Equity Consultants my money was drawn attempting to resolve this issue to no avail. The Arizona Vacation Rentals listed address 2464 E. Greenway Pkwy Ste. 100, Scottsdale, AZ 85 254 leads you to an office where a continuous physical presence by AZ Vacation Rentals is not maintained. I was told by the operations manager at this location (Plaza Executive Suites) that AZ Vacation Rentals only uses this office space for appointments. I then requested an appointment which could not be arranged. The receptionist contacted Davinci Virtual a partner company of Plaza Executive Suite’s to request an appointment for me with AZ Vacation Rentals. Davinci Virtual would not supply me with either their own contact information or the contact information for Arizona Vacation Rentals other than the 888−711−8105 which only goes to their booking agents. The booking agents cannot supply me with contact information or arrange an appointment with AZ Vacation Rentals either. Next I drove to the office of National Equity Consultants at 15 849 N. 71^st St. #100, Scottsdale, AZ 85 254. I spoke with the receptionist at this location however I requested an appointment with the director of AZ Vacation Rentals who also resides at this location. She said that the director could not see me at this time but that I could request an appointment through email at
. I have yet to get an appointment scheduled with AZ Vacations Rentals. AZ Vacation Rentals claim this property is run based on a Shared Economy Business Model.
I lost my job due to calling off work when my husband entered hospice on Dec 28, 2015. I would like to get my $ 200 back and feel it is rightfully mine.

This company is a complete joke. I actually think it might be a coverup for a fraudulent company. I have continued to reach out (6 times now) requesting a refund on my $ 2,000 deposit and no one returns my calls and emails. Help Desk (R.M. Ross) specifically will not return any of my emails filled with the same question over and over again. I plan on reaching out to the Better Business Bureau next as this company must be reported. Please do not use this company you run the risk of never seeing your money again.

Really appreciated the ease of booking the rental. Representatives very knowledgeable about the property. Emails with important info were sent in a timely fashion. Information provided was extremely helpful during our stay at the property. Help Desk returned emails/​calls very quickly with needed answers. Good Job all around! Would rent from Arizona Rentals again.

Started off rough but Mark stepped up and met the problems head on. He has been very helpful in finding the right house. I will give an update after we stay at the house and can confirm how well things went
