Overpriced with poor quality and terrible service.
Aesthetically it looks nice at first, but the poor quality reveals itself soon enough. The carpet is cheap and gross. I’m not sure how to describe the fake wood flooring. It looks like they haphazardly laid a giant paper sticker to look like wood. Make no mistake, their renovations are shoddy at best.
My apartment is overrun with ants and termites. I don’t want to open my blinds because the outsides of my windows are filthy with giant, thick cobwebs. It’s all very unpleasant.
I’ve only called maintenance three times in the almost year that I’ve lived here and each time it has taken no less than a week for someone to fulfill the request. I mean, how long does it take to change the air conditioner filters?! Same thing when I asked them to take care of the termites in the garage. And then they come back in no time like little veins up the wall.
The only positive about the complex is my nice neighbors. But I’m sure we’ll all be rolling through very quickly.
I would recommend checking out other complexes in the area before Alexan. I made a quick decision about moving in here and have been less than thrilled with the experience, to say the least.

I have just moved out of this apartment because of relocation of my job. Before that I lived in the apartment for almost a year.
I don’t have much to say about this complex, it’s an average quality complex in this area. it worth 2.5 stars. (I read a review below mentioning about dog poops I totally agree that was annoying indeed when I was living in there).
And their property manager Brent Leigh is the reason I added another 2.5 stars. He made it possible that I moved in the very same day I checked the apartment and decided to move in, And ever since that he has being a reliable and basically the best property manager I have ever met. He helped me to make my living in Alexan easier and simpler.
For those gave one star rating I feel sympathy with what you guys experienced and felt about the apartment. But at least mine is good, besides Brent their maintenance response is quick and efficient (at least I felt so). So I would recommend this complex as long as Brent is still the property manager there :)

The updated apts are nice. I love my townhouse, great space, SS Appliances, wood floors and granite countertops. Lease prices are on the upper end of the scale. Downside is you are locked into using Century link for Internet and cable and they are pricing and the Internet is slow and sketchy. Maintenance is great, things get fixed quickly after putting in a request. Convenient location to shopping and the 101
Fairly quiet except during bike week when you can hear all their concerts for free. LOL

ON July 4^th you have a front row seat for free for Wedt Worlds fireworks.

Again, only one star because I have to. This place has only gotten worse with time. After a year here they tried to tell me I never paid my pet deposit of 350 and tried to charge me again until I brought the proof I paid it and all of a sudden they found the paperwork as well. They are letting any old trash in this place. The people next door are constantly working on cars, taking up the road way where clearly posted not to park. Any time I have concerns I get brushed off. I asked if I get anything for renewing my lease because most companies offer some sort of apartment upgrade and I was told I get nothing. My rent went from 1225 a month to 1430 a month. I asked why I don’t get grandfathered into the new prices considering I have been here so long and my apartment isnt even upgraded and they told me because they need to stay competitive. I asked if I could at least get a free carpet cleaning and they said yes, when I went to claim the ticket they told me they never agreed to it. There is still dog poop everywhere. The «landscapers» come and blow the dirt into piles and leave it, they cut down a tree and left the debris on the ground in the roadway surrounded by cones for two weeks. My other neighbor had his house broken into. They now lock the gym so no one can get in. I tried to use the bathroom the other day while at the pool and they keep all the doors locked so I had to walk all the back to my apartment. This place is a shit hole plain and simple, stay far far away. Oh and also don’t expect to get your mail of packages they steal them.

I wouldn’t give them any stars at all. The day we moved in the apartment was dirty carpet stained and scratches on the walls. We reported that to the office and they said that maintenance was going to come in to take care of that but they never showed up. A week ago our neighbor caught his town home on fire, and ours suffered a lot of water and smoke damages. We didn’t heard from the property manager until we contacted them to see what was the plan and when the out house was going to be ready for us to move back. So far it’s been a week and our house is a complete disaster. we really like the home and the location but they lack customer service skills. We moved from Texas and we were not familiar with the area and didn’t have a lot of time to find a place since my husbands job needed him here ASAP. I am pretty sure that we can find something much better for the same price… My advise is to look somewhere else!!!

I have lived at The Alexan since September of 2010. When I first moved here, the property management company was Greystar, however this changed in summer of 2012. The property is now managed by Holland Residential and the staff is all new. When Holland took over management, they fired/​forced out all of the current staff and maintenance people. Since this has happened, the service has been absolutely pitiful. If something small like a clogged drain needed to be fixed before, they used to have someone here the following day, now it takes days/​weeks and multiple calls to get someone to stop by. The office staff is another major problem, most of them are really rude and ignorant people that don’t seem to have the time to deal with you. Their hours are another issue. I have had packages delivered and rushed to get home from work, only to find that they have closed or locked the doors 5 – 10 minutes before they are scheduled to close for that day. They recently changed their hours to where they are not even open on Sunday’s anymore, so if Sunday is your only available day, you can forget about it. About a year ago, they also did away with the rent drop, so now you have to physically take your rent checks up to the office and hand them to an employee during business hours. This wouldn’t be a big deal if I didn’t have a roommate where we split the rent and each write a check for rent each month.
As for the apartments themselves, they are middle of the road. I must admit that since I have lived here for three years, I am in one of the non-​remodeled apartments, and I understand that they are quite a bit better, but the unit that I am in is nothing special, and definitely not «luxury». They are pretty over-​priced for what you get.
There are issues both big and small with this apartment complex, but if you are concerned about being treated with respect and having your issues dealt with in a timely manner, this is not the place for you.

I love it here, the location is ideal for shopping, groceries, banking, sushi… its easy and quick to get home after a night of fun
