I love the personal service at Year Round Tax. Heather has been my accountant since Jack Bennett retired years ago.
I was pleasantly surprised to find her just as personable with a task I justifiably loathe… but year after year Heather does a terrific job, even reminding me of deductions that I might have missed.
Recently our relationship had a whole new depth after the death of my mother. She and Marcus have been so helpful with all the nuances of estate taxes and filing the final return.
Who knew? You even pay taxes after you die!

I had my taxes done here last year. First of all, after giving me an appointment time, they screwed that up and I received an e-​mail, with no consultation, telling me that my appt. time had been cancelled. I had to call and get an appointment all over again, and the lame apology I got had something to do with «we’re using new software for scheduling appointments». Fine. I had my appointment, and found the tax consultant with whom I met to be brusque, unfriendly and unresponsive to the one question which I e-​mailed her later. I never got a response – I think that is pretty unprofessional, don’t you? She also made an error on my state tax return. This year, being a reasonable sort, I signed up again to have them do my taxes. I was given an appointment time, and guess what? This morning, I got an e-​mail telling me that my appointment time had been cancelled, except that the additional mistake was that it was an appointment time with a different tax consultant – not the one I was to meet with there. I called the office, and was told that the appointment they had originally scheduled for me DIDN’T EXIST. This means that when they gave it to me, in December, they DIDN’T PUT IT IN THEIR OWN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULE. And then, guess what? I was given the same lame apology about having new software for scheduling. Really? Two years in a row? Soooo, I’m done. I see that some reviewers think this place is fantastic. Well, that’s Unilocal for ya. Whatever, I would suggest that you take your business elsewhere.

I have been using Year Round Tax Service for many, many years. My entire family uses Year Round and they know our tax situation inside and out! They’re prompt and communicate via email which is a must for my busy life with three children! I highly recommend them and their knowledgable staff! Bonus-​super convenient locale.

My wife and I have been using YRTS for many years. Marcus and Heather are always available to answer questions and returning calls (even during non tax season). Their advice is sound and has helped us with our retirement tax strategies. We were audited one year and I basically just turned the matter over to Heather who dealt successfully with the IRS. Good, solid tax service.

My sister has been coming here for years, and after we bought our first home I knew it was time to leave the taxes to a pro. So I started coming here, and couldn’t be happier. Marcus handles everything and walks me through it. I bring in all my paperwork, he gets me the best refund he can. I also love that they are great through email — I don’t always have time for phone tag, so businesses that can communicate via email always get my business.

I would give this zero stars if I could. I made an appointment a few months ago and when I showed up today, they said they had nothing on file for me. Really? Also, I was ignored for 10min while the woman at the front desk helped someone else. This place clearly isn’t organized.

When my previous accountant retired, she recommended Year Round Tax Service. Best recommendation I ever received! Heather has saved me thousands of dollars in taxes over the years since then. She is always friendly, meticulous about detail, and highly informed about tax law. My taxes are already complicated, with a mixture of self employment in three businesses along with a salaried job. Heather negotiates this complexity like a champ and is always prepared to take the time to explain things. She recently spent 90 minutes explaining the details of moving from a sole proprietorship to a corporation, all for a change that will net her a grand total of 15 dollars per quarter. She still took the time to answer our numerous questions. I recommend her to anybody who asks about finding a good tax accountant. She is the best!

This small and hard-​to-​find office deserves a lot of praise. Heather and Marcus are very personable and professional — at the same time! They are fast, thorough, and very affordable. Practically everything can be done electronically, including (of course) the final submission to the IRS, etc. They are keeping up with changes in the tax code, and have knowledge of some arcane deductions that our previous advisor had missed. This includes deductions for assisted living expenses for our mother, whose tax returns are also done by Year Round. It helps to fill out their prep sheet, before you visit them. If you do that well, the rest is easy and enjoyable. You may even get a refund.
