He has created and designed kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, sewing rooms, living rooms, bedrooms, outside spaces, office spaces, mud rooms, pantry area, closets, dining rooms etc. He takes you step by step to help you achieve the look you want. History

Established in 2005.

Scott Yates was born and raised in New Zealand. He worked for Alloy Yachts at age 17 in Henderson Auckland in New Zealand where we gained the skills and knowledge and started working with wood. He traveled to The United States in 2003 and started Yates Woodworking in 2005 in Scotts Valley CA. His brother and family live locally and Co-​own and operate Elite Construction in Santa Cruz CA. At a very early age Scott took wood shop in high school and fell in love with the craft. He build chairs, chests and tables and knew this is what he wanted to do.

Business Owner

I was born and raised on a farm in New Zealand. I have 3 brothers who all own and run their own businesses in the U.S. and New Zealand. I was 12 years old when I started woodworking in school and when I was 17 years old I had my first job working in Auckland for Alloy Yachts, New Zealand’s biggest super yatch manufacturer. I worked here for 4 years as a furniture maker apprentice. In 2003 I moved to the United States to help my brother with his construction company (Kiwi Construction which is now Elite Construction) In 2005 I started my own custom cabinet business in Scotts Valley. I currently live in Felton and love spending time with my family, going to the beach, bike riding, cooking, hiking, swimming, traveling, camping, and hanging with friends.
