Rub-A-Dub Dog

I do not recommend this place at all. I recently made an appt. for my 2 golden retrievers to be bathed & groomed. After 3 hours I received a call informing me that my dogs were ready but that their haircuts/​grooming could not be done because the dogs were old & non-​cooperative. I was told that one kept being incontinent and the other kept falling down. I still don’t understand this, but I think they were traumatized in some manner. And when I got home, I found that one of my dogs still had wet cotton balls in his ears. This place is also dirty. I am never returning!

My dog is an Australian shepherd and doesn’t like getting groomed or getting his nails trimmed but he doesn’t mind it here. I’m so thankful that I found this place. The girl working (forgot her name. Natalie maybe) is fantastic with dogs and did an awesome job! I called the day of and she fit me in and the price was good too. Love this place!

The women here are kind, compassionate, understanding. My dog had been through two negative experiences with groomers and Rub-​A-​Dub Dog is willing to work with my dog and me to bring him back to an emotional place where he can have a positive grooming experience. Couldn’t cut his hair today because he panicked when the clippers came out, but we’ll get there.
If you have to go a little further to get to them, do it. Well worth the extra time and effort. Thanks Rub-​A-​Dub!

I unfortunately have to give this place a negative review. I brought in my 7lb poodle mix this week for a wash and cut. They did a good job with the cut, when I picked him up I was happy with the result. However when I got him home he was acting funny and uncomfortable. I noticed his penis was inverted and assumed he was chilly because of his short haircut. Turns out he had a good size cut on his penis. I was obviously upset that my poor lil guy was hurt so I called to inform them of my findings. The groomer then basically told me she knew that this had happened and that it was my dogs fault for being wiggly. I realize accidents happen but I should have been informed when I picked him up. I felt the situation was not dealt with professionally.

I have a Maltese and I have brought my dog there now three times. every single time the staff has been courteous very friendly and did exactly as I requested. They didn’t excellent job with her haircut and are always on time and very reasonable with their prices. love going here.

Our little 7 pound Shiatsu thinks she can do everything a big dog does! She runs, digs, and rolls — doubling her weight in dirt, dust, burrs, and whatever else she can get caught up in her hair!
While she gets dirtier than the biggest dog — she is also a scaredy cat! She hates going to get washed and groomed — until we discovered Rub-​A-​Dub Dog on Scotts Valley Drive!
Every time we take her in — I don’t think there is a chance she will get clean and brushed — but she does — they are truly miracle workers! And — when I pick her up — she’s not shaking and traumatized like she has been at other places!
The staff is always friendly — many times they can take her without an appointment. The times when they couldn’t — they were really great — finding me the earliest appointment at a time that is great!
I think I saw they have a do it yourself wash station too — I haven’t tried that one yet — their prices for grooming are so great — and my dog so finicky — I think she’d much rather have them wash her!
All and all — I really love them! Give them a try!

These guys did a great job on our dog’s cut, they were able to take us same day, and their prices didn’t break the bank. The next time we’re in Scotts Valley, we’ll stop back in again. :)

Our welsh terrier got a really great haircut for a very reasonable price. We think they did one of the best jobs on her face/​beard of anywhere we’ve been.

I bring my Yorkie to Rub-​A-​Dub Dog every time I visit a friend in Scott’s Valley from the City. They do a great job cutting in him a variety of cuts, and the degreaser they use keeps him soft and clean for weeks.
They can usually fit me in with one day notice, take about two hours, and costs much less than the worst place in the city.
They are friendly, and make my dog feel comfortable.

Just had the pleasure of Stephanie grooming my two dogs Eduardo and Alejandro, and we couldn’t be happier! She is so talented and my dogs loved her. They are the cutest Maltipoos around!

I have been using them for several years. Great staff — friendly and helpful. Competitive prices.

Took my two poodles in today (I called this afternoon at about 1PM to see if she had room for them this afternoon, and she said, «yes.») She said they would be done before 5Pm (it was a Friday) and they were done absolutely beautifully! She did say after they were groomed that one of them was gonna cost 40.00, not 35.00 because he was matted more than usual, which I didn’t mind paying. If you pay by credit card, be sure to tell them you want the tip on the card too, or they will have to run your card again, just for the tip…

I have used this place about 4 times and so far I am very happy. They are always able to take my dog either that day or the next. The shop is clean and my dog always comes out looking great. She is a schnauzer and its not the easiest cut to do yet they always get it right.

I took my little Yorkie to rub a dub dog twice the first time everything went great. But the second time I walked in I was charged and I left a tip. Then the groomer proceeded to tell me she had cut my dog but it wasn’t as bad as it looked. She brought my little out and a chunk was missing from his ear. It’s been months and it never grew back. I was shocked that she had still charged me and still have no idea how she took my tip without saying anything till after my card was accepted. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Called Rub a Dub dog and they could fit my little dog in the same day I called. Only took 1 hour and my dog looked great and was happy. The shop is clean and the woman at the front was very nice. When I picked up the little fluffy one she was also able to trim my pugs nails in 1 minute for only $ 5. This will be our new spot.

I originally brought my dogs here over a year ago. They did a really choppy job didnt even shave there butts or brush there ears out. and left a couple razor burns on them as well. I decided to give them another chance around a year later. they made me pay before they would show me how they looked or see the gash. Then when I left I looked at him closely to see the so called minor knick I saw they had cut my dogs arm a half of a centimeter gash all the way through the skin you can see his muscle the injury kept bleeding through the night. then I found another spot they cut a large chunk of flesh off of his chest I have taken photos of there handy work. On a 5 lb dog this is a really big deal. In addition to this they didnt brush out either of my 2 dogs ears and the the boy with the gashes didnt have his tail brushed or trimmed. I dont know how this place is still in buisiness. I am so upset about this and I have no idea what to do about it.
