Camp Kitty

I went with Camp Kitty because of the positive reviews on Unilocal.I needed to board my cat long-​term (20 days) while in the Atlanta area. I liked that Camp Kitty replied quickly to my email enquiries. I found their rates very reasonable and they include TLC as a matter of course. When my cat became ill (through no fault of Camp Kitty’s, he has medical issues) they kept me informed with timely updates and recommended a great vet. I would recommend them without reservation if you need a place for your feline fur child.

Camp Kitty is fantastic, and worth the price even with the new rates. I looked into boarding my cat for the ten days I will be out of town this year at other vets/​facilities and nothing compares. Sure, they may be cheaper but the few extra dollars to board at camp kitty is worth my peace of mind. Most other facilities will keep the cats in a fairly small metal cage for either the entire time they are there, or let them out less an hour per day. Hooray for Camp Kitty!

Love Camp Kitty! The owner clearly loves cats and understands them, which I really appreciate. My cats don’t seem stressed out when they come home (unlike after other boarding adventures). Plus, I love following the flickr feed– there are some hilarious shots of the campers, not just mine. Highly recommended!

We got our tickets and packed our bags to head out for a relaxing 5 day vacation. But sadly, we don’t have anyone in town to come over and watch over our calico kitty. What to do, what to do?! She’s never been boarded before and we didn’t didn’t feel comfortable putting her in a regular pet boarding facility, we certainly didn’t want to place her in ‘pet purgatory’ on the plane, and we didn’t want to cancel our trip.
Camp Kitty to the rescue!
We love the fact that it’s a cat-​only Camp and that they can roam free from their cabin to various locations throughout the camp. The ‘camp counselors’ are well trained for kitties and are really good at reading their cues… which helped quell the fears of my wife and I should something awry come up, or even just to ensure the kitties are cared for, petted, and loved.
We were able to bring some of the comforts from home — her blanket, some fun toys, and the snacks and food she’s become quite picky about! Even better, they post the cutest pictures of the ‘cat campers’ on their Flickr feed daily… so when we got wi-​fi signals, we could see how she and her fellow campers were doing.
Sadly, we’ll be moving to another city in the next few months, and hope we can find another gem like Camp Kitty in our new home. Will certainly be one of many places we’ll miss here. At least we can watch the daily stream of cute cat pics on their Flickr page… I mean, c’mon, isn’t that what the internet’s for? :)

We discovered Camp Kitty through their «Scratch It» cat adoption blog, and decided to visit when we were looking for kittens to adopt. We fell in love with one and then two of their foster kittens (and the two were fast friends, so it would’ve been shameful to separate them) so we went through the process with AARF and took them home. At the time, we noted that all the fosters and paid kitty-​guests in the building were taken care of with love, expertise, and intuition. We’ve only had cause to board our cats once, but of course we sent them to Camp Kitty and the experience was exactly as I expected.

It is always nice to hear that your cat was the camper of the week when you have returned from three weeks away. The staff was incredibly friendly and caring and the drop off an pick up were very easy. I called before I left for the pick up and my cat was waiting for me when I arrived, a big plus after three weeks of traveling, delays, etc. I will definitely be using Camp Kitty for all my future trips.

Our two cats came home and got quickly back into their routine, which is such a change from boarding at other places. From other kennels, they have come home stressed and upset. Feel so good about finding a safe, comfortable place to leave our girls when we go out of town.

our cat is a repeat camper at camp kitty. i was anxious about boarding our cat at first (really shy cat/​adverse to unfamiliar environment), but no longer! i really like that this place only boards cats and gives them a chance to get out and play in a common area. and how fun is it to look at the camp kitty photostream on flickr? :) so darn cute. our cat has been boarded here so many times now that i think he’s ready to become a camp counselor.

We boarded our special needs cat that needed daily medication. Because of his special needs, he tends to be cranky. The staff was not able to handle him very well. Their approach to him made him more aggressive and ultimately they couldn’t medicate him for 2 days. For easy cats, they’ll probably do well. Also, my cat came home with fleas (we’ve never had them before) and it’s taken us a while to eradicate them from our house.

We have boarded out cat here 3 or 4 times (for up to a week) and had a great experience each time. The Camp is clean and well organized. The cabins seem to offer plenty of space, and they will let your cat out to explore for a while each day. They post pet photos on Flick while your’e travelling so you can keep an eye on your pet too. Our cat does not seem stressed at all when we pick him up. We’ll certainly board our cat again!

Love Camp Kitty! It’s a great place to bring your cat while you are on vacation. The staff is friendly. And, we love all the photos they take and post of our kitty while we are away. Great prices, too.

I went on vacation for a week and needed to board my cat. I was a little nervous b/​c I had never boarded her before. They took excellent care of her and she wasn’t freaked out when I picked her up.
The woman that runs the place genuinely enjoys cats which is wonderful when you are leaving your 4 legged friend. Bonus points is they also have a retail space in the front which sells cat food and litter as well as other cat related stuff.
I will definitely use Camp Kitty again in the future.

I love this place! People warn you that cats shouldn’t be boarded but Puff did just fine and the other cats in the facility seem happy too. I love the pics she posts on flickr so you can see your little buddy while you’re away.
