I wouldn’t say that this commissary is better or worse than the majority I’ve seen. They have better prices than going off base but for very specific ingredients you won’t find them here. On certain items you are better off hitting up a Walmart(soda/pop), or a local grocery(sometimes Tom’s has some great sales on fruit and veggies that are much better than the prices the commissary offers. You also need to watch dates on the meat, when it’s out, because we’ve seen it where it goes bad the same day we would purchase it. Usually we still support the commissary regardless of slightly better prices on a couple things at other places.(Unless we need things we just can’t get there such as certain spices). Generally it’s a good way to get a lot of food for your money — particularly without tax. I’d certainly recommend supporting it if you are nearby and have the option to do so.

If you have on base access then this is definitely a good place to shop for groceries. Overall and in comparison to other places, prices are very cheap because there are no sales tax and there are always coupons down the aisles which are exclusive to the commissary available to everybody. A lot of the times they have major sales going on which even increase the savings. This commissary is definitely one of the better ones I’ve been to because it’s a good size and they have a bunch of hard to find overseas products from Asia and Europe. The only thing is, if you can, don’t ever go around the 1st or 15th as well as during bad weather conditions such as snow storms etc because the lines will be terrible and the stocks will be low or nothing left at all.

Great place to shop if you can. Good prices and interesting selection. I live too far to buy perishables, because I usually forget to bring a cooler, but its a great place to stock up on your center-aisle stuff and try something new.

Have to love the early shopper time that starts at 0700. It is meant for only 15 items or less. Avoid pay days!

Despite working on base, I don’t usually come here for my odds and ends. The only time I go grocery shopping here is when there is no food in my apartment and I’m probably going to drop around $ 300. Amid the crazy snow storm we had today, my husband decided it would be an excellent time to get groceries. We ventured out into the chaos and were surprised at the amount of people. While they were revamping the commissary, it seemed impossible for me to find anything and they had even done away with their vegetarian selection. I was outraged and vowed to never shop here again… but eventually they brought it back. It’s relatively easy to navigate now and as long as you’re not there on a Saturday morning, grocery shopping is a somewhat painless process.

this is a great place to shop if you can get on base to go here, if you have a friend in the military definitly ask them to take you shopping if they don’t mind prepare to save… just a heads up, if you want things in stock don’t go around the 1st or 15th of the month when the entire military gets paid! other than that its just your ordinary groucery store, very neat, friendly people that work here
